I received a flyer in the mail advertising Carefree Dentistry services. It offered a free Target gift card for new patients after your initial exam, specifically insured patients. I called ahead of time prior to my appointment to make sure my insurance provider was accepted and the mailer offer was valid for myself which they assured me it was. 5 stars for the dentist who saw me, he was exceedingly professional and personable. I don't recall his name. Negative 5 stars (-5) for the dental assistant who carelessly and forcefully inserted the dental bites into my mouth to take photos. She thought I had a mouth like Mick Jagger that opens up really wide. . . I don't. This was a painful experience, some of the bite wings clearly didn't fit but she was determined to cram it in despite my discomfort and increased painful moaning. Did I remind her of a hated ex for some reason? Why would a new patient be subject to this harsh unprofessionalism? After this ordeal was done, I approached the front counter staff and asked about my free gift card from the mailer offer. I was asked to sit down while they addressed incoming patients. 20 minutes later I walked out as I got the clear impression that they did not intend on fulfilling the terms of their mailer offer. Also, feel free to read other reviews posted with similar negative experiences. I truly wish I could have given this place 5 stars but the lack of considerate care and false advertising was inexcusable. If any of the office staff is reading this, I have taken my dental needs to Dentistry at Dove Valley. They are 35 minutes away from my home compared to 5 minutes away from this disaster dental location however the level of care is on par with celebrity level of treatment and I'll drive the extra half hour for that any day!! WORST Business Practice I have ever encountered with. We saw the $49 Xray, exam, and CLEANING advertisement on their website. We called them and verified that this deal is legit. Set up the appointment for my Mom who is NOT English native speaker. The day of the appointment, They ended up charging her $242 for Xray and Exam ALONE. (No cleaning was performed). I spoke to the dental office and they kept saying that she should have shown the flyer to get the discount. Initially I thought that my Mom did not show them the flyer but it turned out that she actually did show them the website that clearly says at the top the $49 deal. As shown in the picture. There no actual flyer that's so much different than the $49 website showing the advertisement. Yet they took advantage of my Mom for not being able to understand English well. Not only they did not give my Mom the advertised discount, or Cleaning whatsoever, but they enrolled and charged her into a program that she didn't even know what it was when I asked her about it. I'm not a fan of going to the dentist, then again who is right? I have had some terrifying experiences over the years and get very apprehensive in the chair. Dr Cicero is amazing! He always get me numb when others haven't been able to and him and his assistant are always gentle in every way possible. I can relax as best I can when Dr. Cicero is working on me because he's more worried about my comfort than just trying to push out as many clients as possible in a day. The rest of the staff is always so friendly and Cassandra is always so helpful setting up everything through text as o work long hours and making phone calls is impossible for me most days. CiCi is one of the most disrespectful, awful, office staff I have ever had to deal with. I had to get extremely nasty on a voicemail with the office, because they REFUSED to answer my phone calls after just simply stating I needed a letter stating I do have a tooth infection, to what extent, and asked for the doctor to put EXACTLY what was said during the appointment, in the letter for my employer. She was extremely rude, and was extremely rude giving dirty looks, treating me differently because I was struggling to afford emergency dental work. She hung up the phone abruptly TWICE, like the little entitled brat, whose only good trait about her is those teeth from her dental office LOL. I hope you remove her from this office because this is the SECOND time I've had issues with her entitled, and ignorant attitude acting as if she's better than somebody --- AND hung up the phone on someone requesting INFORMATION AND RECORDS FROM THE DENTIST. She should be ashamed, and you should be HIRING A NEW OFFICE PERSON BECAUSE SHE IS AWFUL!!!!!! Nobody acts like an entitled stuck-up little brat other than her in this office. I hope she realizes she isn't all that --- and she has made going to the dentist and dealing with a dental emergency THAT much worse, acting like an entitled little brat over the phone. I also came in for a DENTAL EMERGENCY on 03/09/24 and was charged $75 for dental x-rays with Guardian Dental Insurance -- DESPITE their site special stating that they do CLEANINGS, XRAYS, and EXAMS, for $49. They saw I was in a financial bind, in pain, and Cici went out of her way to charge me as much as possible during my visit to deter me from coming back, because I was already having issues with her arrogant attitude during my first visit. With the insurance quotes for the procedure itself, she charged me closed to $150 more than the quote that I got 3 days prior to my last scheduled appt. that I had to cancel in April to have them removed. She needs to learn how to run correct insurance quotes, stop the discrimination, and I hope this office gets an entirely new office representative because she treats people like trash just because she is sitting behind that desk, employed by a dental office being CAREFREE with peoples medical state and their requests from their doctor, not from a stuck-up little brat who COULDNT EVEN SIMPLY RUN A CORRECT INSURANCE QUOTE. Fire her. Listen to the conversation, for Christs sakes, GETS SOME CAMERAS, and watch the dirty looks she gives people. Dr. Cicero was able to fit me in for a dental emergency, my right rear molar was vertically cracked in half. Was diagnosed by another dentist but they were unwilling to extract my tooth. Dr. Cicero and his staff were great and very accommodating and respective of my needs. Dr. Cicero explained everything that he was doing so that I understood the procedure and it eased my anxiety. I've been going here for a few years. Nonstop billing issues every single time. Today I had a cleaning scheduled. I showed up to the front desk and there was a hygienist standing there speaking to the receptionist. I literally stood there waiting for their conversation to end, which was gossipy, only to have the receptionist not even greet me say hello or anything. She then looked at me and said my first name. I said yes, and that I was here for my cleaning. I gave her my insurance card, as I got new insurance at the beginning of the year. She told me that the full amount of the cleaning would be due today since she needed time to validate my insurance. I'm sorry, but since when could a front desk receptionist not call an insurance company or enter my information into their system while I am there, to get validation of my insurance carrier. That was the most asinine thing I have ever heard. She was very put off that I had new insurance and hadn't shared that prior to my appointment. They never asked. So I then rescheduled my appointment for Thursday. I get home only to find out that my dentist doesn't even work there anymore. He is no longer with the practice. I also then get a text message from them asking me to leave a Google review today since I just had an appointment. I did not have an appointment today. I went ahead and submitted an online submission form asking them to cancel my rescheduled appointment on Thursday as well as my son's cleaning that I had scheduled in September. I will no longer be doing business with this practice. I have already had billing issues over the last few years with them. And this was the icing on the cake today. I am a new patient, and received care from Dr. Cicero and the dental team. I am new to the area and have been looking for a dentist who is gentle and realistic...and I found him. I had a cracked crown, and Dr. Cicero was very good at removing the crown and the team placed the temporary into my mouth. They were accommodating to add the 'real' crowns (I had two) before the Christmas holiday. I found Dr. Cicero to be professional. He explained the procedure and made me feel comfortable. Going to the dentist is not my favorite thing to do, but I do believe that the entire dental team did their best with me. I am happy to be a patient! read more

RUN! This place is a total scam and his went completely down hill since Dr. Cerario left the practice. I went in for their special that they offer for their $50 cleaning/X-ray. I mentioned some tooth discomfort on one specific tooth as well. And let me tell you I spent more time in the waiting room than I did the dental chair. They dental hygienist who did my cleaning was so ROUGH, it wasn't a pleasant cleaning at all. The dentist then comes in ( not the dentist I thought I was seeing) and starts going in on my mouth and the hygienist is writing away. I'm just really confused how the sent me a "dental treatment plan" for over $8,000 when I was in there just a little under a year ago. Like what?! I got a second opinion and let me tell you I'm so glad I did, the new office I went to literally was in shock with how much unnecessary work they were trying to do in my mouth. I never leave reviews but feel this one was earned. Let me start by saying, I am terrified of the dentist (drills, and needles etc). Unfortunately, I had a cavity that needed filling and Dr. Cicero was seriously SO sweet and made me feel comfortable. I received a postcard for a new patient special that included an exam, Xrays, and cleaning for $49. I should have known you get what you pay for. The dentist was actually very nice, professional and pleasant in his manner, exam and explanation. The hygienist, however, was brusk and very matter of fact without ever asking how I was or even saying hello before going into her spiel. I felt like I had just been "had" I left with a dental plan to replace a crown that had been chipped for at least 7-10 years, and a deep gingival gum cleaning totaling over $4k! I was in shock. The office manager explained their insurance/payment plan that would reduce the cost, and it just added to the "used car sales pitch" feeling. I went planning to spend $49 and then got hit with an enormous expense, i realized just how gullible i'd been. - not a warm fuzzy feeling at all. After about 2 hours, I left. I never got my cleaning - was told maybe later that afternoon - no appointment was set and I will not go back. read more

The worst experience I have ever had!!!!!! After going through some major health issues I developed a severe toothache. My first appointment was to see dr. Gonzalez who told me she could not treat me because I did not have a medical release. I understood that somewhat but I thought at least I would be giving palliative treatment that day to get me out of pain. I went and got my medical release and made another appointment and this time all they did was take X-rays _ my teeth were in bad shape so they referred me to a prosthodontist - still did nothing to alleviate the pain. Because of insurance I had to pick one of the prosthodontist on my insurance policy and did not get an appointment until November 14th. I called Carefree Dentistry a number of times( with no return phone call from them) asking for a couple of prescriptions to hold me through to that date. I wanted an antibiotic and some pain medication and told them that I know teeth and some days they don't hurt and some days I can't even drink a cup of coffee. The bottom line is I cannot believe that you go to a dentist and leave with the same pain you went in with that would have never happened in the practice I worked in on the East Coast. Yesterday I talked to Vivian and she told me to call my primary care physician which I will do - although I'm totally confused by this since my problem is a dental problem. I have been going through this for approximately two months now and ended up in the emergency room one Sunday . I understand their concern about writing prescription for painkillers although I think if you saw my x-rays you would understand why I need one. I guess the bottom line is I'm sure there's some non-addictive pain medication they could have given me but instead chose to let me go for two months with on and off excruciating pain. Because of my insurance which is an HMO plan I needed to be referred to somebody who was on my insurance. That being said they gave me a referral for somebody who is not on my insurance and provided no help in finding somebody who is. I was a dental assistant for 38 years and I have never experienced anything like this. Hopefully this review will help somebody else and prevent them from choosing Carefree Dentistry. read more
