Stopped in Carelli's on our random pizza tour through northern NJ. Pizza crust was way to thick for my liking. Sauce seemed a little bland. Italian Sub was average, but a big portion. French fries were solid. Service was on point. Overall, I give it a complete pass but no first down. read more

Thought I would give this place a try. Needless to say very disappointed. I wasn't feeling well and this was on my way home. All I wanted was some chicken noodle soup. I decided to get some garlic knots with it . Came home and the garlic knots are so greasy and oily that I can't even eat them, and the marinara sauce that it came with taste burnt. The soup cost $15 and there's barely any broth. It's just overloaded with pasta and vegetables which some people might like but that's not what I wanted. It is bland and lacking flavor and the chicken is chewy. Not going back. read more

I ordered the shrimp and calamari combo and wasn't disappointed. There was ample shrimp and calamari and the sauce was very delicious. It came with a side salad that was a decent-sized portion. Last minute on NYE we realized we accidentally picked up whole wheat pizza dough. Stopped into Carelli's and they sold us fresh dough. It was hands down the best we have cooked with. It cooked up crispy and light! I have only had their Sicilian (which is delicious) but now will definitely stop by for a regular pie and other meals. read more

I was looking for pizza and there was a sign for a pizzeria in this strip mall that was out of business, but I was in time for the grand opening of Gencarelli's Pizza. They have no affiliation with the bakery or other Gencarelli's pizza. They have pickup, dine in and delivery options. They're also hiring if your looking for employment. I'm pretty sure the seats are self service. They do offer catering. Their pizza is really good. I'm not sure if they're expensive or if their pricing is competitive anymore. I got 2 slices and a soda for like 11$. Sure they're specially slices but that still seams a little steep. I'm happy I can get a few slices or a pie and a fountain soda without having to support the production of plastic. If you're in the area looking for some pizza or Italian food, check them out. There's a nice inside dining area, an outside eating area and friendly service. read more

I was in with some friends last Saturday. The place was busy so we thought service might be slow, but it wasn't. Our server Donna was phenomenal. She was super sweet and attentive. She recommended the Chicken Marsala which was delicious. We also had a pizza to share at the table. Everything was really good. We will be back soon. If you go, please make sure you ask for Donna. Well I wish I could review the food but they never made my food. Strangest thing. Went in. Two employees no customers eating. One lady waiting. I ordered a Stromboli. The man who took the order and payment told me about 15 minutes. I waited 18 minutes. Watching the other guy open the oven and keep checking a pizza and turning it. I'm looking thinking maybe they're making the Stromboli in the back. After the 18 minutes I say is mine done or almost? The pizza checking man walks over and pulls the little order slip from where it was hanging the whole time in front of him. He says I have to make it fresh it will be 7-8 minutes. I said you didn't even start it?! I'm sitting here watching him stand there looking around and the other guy doing whatever and no one thinks to make my order. The food is great delicious pizza and wonderful classic Italian food. Not only it food great but everyone who works there has always been so wonderful and sweet to our family. I recently left my purse at the restaurant by mistake and one of their employees dropped it off to my home because they are closed Mondays and knew I wouldn't be able to come pick it up. So wonderful I can't recommend this place highly enough. Absolutely go and enjoy a meal. read more

Some of the best pizza in North Jersey! Everything from the dough to sauce is delicious and tastes fresh/ homemade. They also make a delicious deep dish Margherita which is even better with sausage or pepperoni topping! The service here is also 10/10! Everyone here is super friendly and efficient. Great food, very busy led to service being a little slow but worth the wait. Fried calamari was very good. Deep dish pizza was really good.

Overall very good Italian. Loved the escarole soup and the vodka sauce on the meatballs and pepper was great. The sausage and pepper sun was very dry and probably needed some cheese. read more

I returned seven months later and stand by my initial review. Here are a few additional observations: The service was fantastic. The sauce was sweet and respectable. The bottom dough was well textured. Corn meal? Sure tasted corn mealy. The mozzarella was not the highest quality, but edible. The mozzarella sticks were bready and lacked a desired flavor. In an area with exquisite pizzerias such as Pasquale's, Sun Rays, and Mainline, I was surprised by the price. I was especially surprised because the pizza was not in the same ballpark as it's competitors. However, the pizzeria is housed in a choice plaza where the rents are most likely high. As noted earlier, with pizzerias of higher quality and lower cost in the area, I will not be patronizing this establishment. I wish them the best of luck. read more

Food was good. The service however, wasn't so good. The server was very nice, but was very slow. We were only two people, she brought out drinks one at the time. After 15 minutes, we asked where our salads were and she said oh I'm sorry and brought them out, which by then were warm. Our entrées came out one at the time as well. The check was incorrect and when we questioned it, the server said oh our prices went up and when I said the menu had a different price, another server replied with our new menus, haven't come in yet. My advice would be raise your prices when your menus come out. The manager was nice enough to adjust the bill. read more

Server was great they recommendations when I asked for something more up my dietary needs. Love calamari but not the fried stuff so they turned me in to the calamari marinara... so good and just the right heat I wanted! I've we've ordered here a few times and so far we have been very pleased with our selections the pizza is very good the sauce is rich and has the herbs you can see the cheese was good quality and a goof amount of it. The mussels in white garlic sauce was absolutely delicious. We were thankful for the bread to soak up the amazing sauce. We also got a grilled chicken Cesar salad and I love that they added hard boiled eggs it goes so well with the Cesar dressing.
