This pharmacy seems really good at putting together sweetheart deals with local dermatologists. My Derm insisted I could only get my script for meds here, then this double-dealing pharmacy charged me for the meds, then didn't get me the meds, later insisting they can't get that prescription. Later, I find another local pharmacy has it in stock and for less. Six weeks later I STILL don't have my meds. Oh...nor do I have my money. When I call, they say, "Oh, it's coming tomorrow..." I normally go to Walgreens for my prescriptions and they are quick but they never try to help me get the prices down on high priced prescriptions. This was my first time using Carepoint and it is hands down the best pharmacy ever!!!!!! They were so helpful and made sure I got the best deal on my prescriptions. I would defiantly recommend them to everyone especially if you have a higher deductible. They also shipped me my prescription for free because I live a little father. read more

I just looked at my own prescription label after seeing the previous review and I can confirm that the discard after date on the label is past the actual expiration date on the box. My cream expires in 6 months but the label says it expires in a year. This is just terrible pharmacy practice. read more

Unacceptable for a pharmacy, and everything that's wrong with American medicine that my insurance makes me use them. Signed up for auto-refill of an Rx online, so expected to receive it. Nope. Called them, they said "you didn't sign up for automatic texts, which you need to do for automatic refills". Um, ok, but nobody ever told me that, so, fine, I sign up for automatic refills. Lady tells me my Rx will arrive in the next 2 days. Still no Rx arriving. I'm now down to 2 pills. I call AGAIN. Oh, well we did process it, and it will be there sometime towards the end of next week. As in, I will be totally out of medicine - a prescription I need and that builds in my system, where going off for days is a problem - for at least 4 days. Call AGAIN. Well, apparently I have the option of paying them $25 for their mistake and they can (So they say) overnight me something. This place is absolutely appalling. First of all, if you're a patient of a certain dermatology practice in Chicago, you have the right to choose your pharmacy at the time of your appointment so do NOT let them persuade you to use this one. My first two fills were okay, but at my last appt. my Dr. prescribed a medicated shampoo. Now this medicated shampoo is over $1000 and of course my PPO insurance doesn't cover it so I asked them over the phone if a generic was available, they said one wasn't. Now I do my research and I knew they were wrong, and I told them so and that I was going to have my Dr. prescribe the generic one and have my local pharmacy fill it. I insisted that I would call the practice myself and for them to cancel the filling of the original order. While it took several days with my Dr.'s office to get it straightened out, I did insist they call it into my local Walgreens. In the meantime for some reason, Carepoint texted me twice that my new prescription was ready. I don't know if that was an error with the doctor's office or Carepoint (likely). The Walgreens price for the generic was $86 or so, but I can google and checked out goodrx.com, found a coupon code and got it cheaper, $27 bucks. DO NOT LET THEM FOOL YOU WITH THE LINE THAT THEY CAN GET THE DRUGS CHEAPER! Do a little research for yourself, I've filled prescriptions at Walgreens with manufacturer's website coupons, goodrx.com coupon codes etc. that they are using too. read more

This pharmacy used to be a great pharmacy. Whenever I called I always had a helpful representative on the other line who was very knowledgeable. Now I had to switch pharmacies because they are never on top of things anymore. They must have hired new techs because it is disappointing how incompetent they are. They would have gotten one star for their current status, the only reason they received two was because in the not so distant past they were once a great pharmacy, and i don't know what happened, because they just went sour. read more

My dermatologist recommended Carepoint like many others I see here. Initially, my first prescription was delivered next day with no hassle, so I thought this was a great company, but I've never received another prescription since then. I've been calling them for a month and every time it's the same conversation "It looks like you don't have a refill. I'll check into this and give you a call back" No one has ever called me back. I've talked to the doctor multiple times over the phone and twice in person. I don't know what the problem is here, but Carepoint couldn't care less about my situation. To be fair, this is for acne so it's not a life or death situation, but if you miss your medication for even a day, your skin gets significantly worse. LONG BUT IMPORTANT!! I have used Carepoint to fill 2 dermatology prescriptions with no real issues. Yesterday I received a text indicating that my prescriptions had been submitted and were ready. Curiously, I knew of no new prescriptions & it wasn't time for my current med to refill. I go directly to site w/o using the link, thinking it may be a scam. I enter my credentials(bday/zip code) and a prescription shows up with my mailing address. Problem is it's NOT MY DOCTOR! I call Carepoint thinking maybe an associate of my doctor wrote the prescription. I explain the situation to the rep who seemed totally clueless! The prescription originated from a doc in another state. I say to the rep "....right. I don't live there so why would a Dr there prescribe for me???" She blew it off. I express my concern that she doesn't see a problem with this. Again she seems unbothered. I stress again that this is a problem! Finally, I felt as though I was 'shaming' her for not being troubled by a prescription going to the wrong patient. Finally the rep says "ok, I'll check into it and call you back". I received a call back within 7mins the rep(who may not have been the original rep; maybe a supervisor?). The rep tells me that in fact it WAS an error and that prescription belonged to a similarly named person in the other state. After the 2nd rep confirmed it as n error, I GOT ANOTHER TEXT TODAY FOR THE SAME MED FROM THE SAME DOCTOR!!!!!! Here are my issues with this fiasco: 1. Why would anyone else's prescription come up when I've put in my credentials? If there was another person in my zip code with my birthday, I should have to do a 2nd authentication. 2. This is a no doubt some form of a HIPPAA violation! I shouldn't see another's meds! 3. What if I trusted that the prescription was mine, took it and had an adverse reaction or God forbid died!! What if I were allergic to it?? 4. Even after 'researching' it & acknowledging I'd received the prescription in error, it happens again! Carepoint obviously didn't correct their error. Meanwhile, someone in Michigan is missing their medication because it's sitting in my queue erroneously! This is unacceptable, particularly given that I've read other reviews where this same thing has happened, as far back as 2014!!! Carepoint, you need to get it together before you cause REAL harm to someone or lose your business to lawsuits! Obviously, you've lost me as a customer. I'll be sharing this incident with my Dermatologist and warning friends & family to find other options or just pay the higher cost to fill their prescriptions through a traditional pharmacy! Risking your health and potentially having your privacy infringed upon is not worth the discount in my opinion. I'm ONLY rating Carepoint 2 stars because prior to yesterday, I'd had no issues. Ordered a refill of my son's acne medication. The rep informed me that there was a $0 copay and that it would be shipped that day. Awesome! Then we waited .... and waited. After a week, I contacted Carepoint to see what was going on with shipping and was informed that his medication had never been shipped. There was no reason as to why it hadn't been shipped, it just hadn't been done. I immediately had the prescription switched to a local chain pharmacy, still had no copay and got his medication that day. The only reason that I used this pharmacy was because my dermatologist said that they were cheaper and faster than the local chain and both of those statements proved to be incorrect. read more

We all must have the same dermatologist!! Mine must be a part owner of this pharmacy business, because he really urged me to get my prescriptions filled by Carepoint under the guise that "it's cheaper, and I'm all about saving money." What he didn't say is that you have to wait days and days to get your medication in the mail, and they usually don't ship all of your prescriptions together. If you call, you get nowhere with them. My advice: If you want to get your medications that day you go to the doctor, then go to a physical brick and mortar pharmacy, such as Target, Walgreens, CVS or Costco. And, guess what -- Carepoint isn't any cheaper than the brick and mortar pharmacies!! read more

No one has any idea where my perscription is or when I will receive it. No one calls me back. I don't no think they care. What if this were life threatening? Like most reviews, my dermatologist sent my prescription here because she said it would be cheaper than CVS or Walgreens. Initially, I was very impressed with the services. A service tech called me right away to ask for a payment method and shipping information. However, the delivery took 3 days (and they were only shipping it to Chicago) and they were missing most of my prescriptions. When I called to find out why only some of the prescriptions were mailed, they had no real answer. They just messed up. I later learned that the prescriptions they did not ship were not covered by my insurance, so they just didn't bother to process them. I also learned that the price at CarePoint was much higher than the price at Walgreens. The variance was a couple hundred more. They also falsely advertised that they are open on Saturdays on their website. But when I called this Saturday morning to ask for my prescription could be transferred, they informed me that it would have to wait until Monday because no pharmacist was working. They only had people there to answer phones and take payment information. This is an extremely poorly managed pharmacy. If your doctor suggests this place, try and research the actual price at a CVS or Walgreens first. It will help save you a lot of time and grief. I wish I had. read more

I called yesterday, Tuesday September 22nd 2015 in the afternoon around 3:40pm, and spoke with a lady who had the worst phone etiquette. She seemed to have an annoyed tone in her voice, and was very unwelcoming when starting the phone call. She asked questions in a very short cold way. Then after giving her the answers to her questions,.. she spoke nothing to me,.. I, the caller had to ask her what was going on,.. what where we waiting for. A professional would have been stating things along the line such as, "thanks for that information, please give me a moment as I check into the status of this". She gave NO response. I was prescribed two creams. Was given samples by the doctor's office and the doctor submitted a prescription to Carepoint. Carepoint continually called me to pay for the prescription. I hadn't even tried the samples. Yet they called and called. I finally gave them my cc and a box arrived. I have never opened it. The two creams made my condition worse so I cannot use the Rx. I have been very happy with Carepoint for the past year, and have been able to save a great deal of money. I was referred by my dermatologist after my insurance stopped covering a prescription. The cost for this medicated is over $500, but I've been able to get it from Carepoint with copays ranging from $35 to $75. The two most recent refills were $35. The customer service reps are courteous and the medication is shipped promptly. read more

I was prescribed the medications by the doctor on 06/03/2016 and was still waiting for them to arrive at my house on 06/13/2016. I should have it by 06/08/2016 the latest, however someone didn't ship them in time and that's what happens. I don't normally write reviews, but I feel it is my duty to warn people away from this place. I have been using them for almost a year due to the amount of money I save on a very expensive prescription, but I can't even stay with them due to this benefit any more. I would rather pay more. Over this past year I have only received my prescription on time when I asked for it with no problems 3 times. Every other month I have a problem and have to call them one to three times to get my Rx. Sometimes they just don't fill the prescription when I request it and I have to call. I have never tried auto refill so I don't have experience with that, but I don't trust it. I have tried filling on the website and had problems. I have also tried filling by phone and had problems. It doesn't seem to matter how you fill your prescription. Also, when my doctor sends them the Rx, they don't fill it until you call to "check in" on them. This happened both times my Dr sent an order and I had to wait over a week both times to start taking something my doctor wanted me to take right away. 2 weeks ago, I requested a refill. I did get a refill on time, but it was the wrong dosage! I called and they said they would send the correct one. I still don't have it. So I called today and they just apologized and said they don't even have the Rx and need to order it. So not only did my prescription never get sent yet, they don't even have it and never told me! So now I'm waiting who knows how long to get it. I am completely out, by the way. So I'm going without my prescription, which I have done many other months due to them not filling my Rx when I asked. If you cannot function without your Rx, DO NOT use this pharmacy. I am switching pharmacies as soon as this one is done and never going back to them. My daughter's Dermatologist has prescribed several medicines for her over the past several years that were unbelievably expensive (think $1000+ for a one month supply...) at regular pharmacies that could be obtained at Carepoint for either no or marginal co-pays due to contracts with the drug companies, as I understand. Anyway, it's nice to have the ability to get the medicine, although with one medicine in particular, they weren't in stock a couple of times and we had to wait a several weeks for them to fill it. With that, there was a lack of communication regarding the status of the orders, which didn't help. Just today, Carepoint automatically refilled a prescription that we didn't have on auto refill or even fill regularly (and has also been recently discontinued by the doctor), and they left a message saying it was on its way. I called to have it cancelled and the telephone associate was nice, but had a hard time understanding why I was calling and what to do about it. After 10-15 minutes on the phone it was cleared up. It's all kinda strange, how they can offer these expensive meds to customers via contracts with companies, where other pharmacies cannot, and then on top of that, the customer service...it's just off... Hmmm... And the whole pharmaceutical industry, particularly regarding pricing, is a mystery. read more

This place is the absolute WORST. Do NOT order your medications from them. RUN. I called after having a medication refilled that was $$ more than it was 6 months ago and was less than half the amount. They told me it was at the pharmacists discretion to pick what amount to use based on the instructions. Actually no it's not and the pharmacist if unsure should have contacted the prescribing provider. I spoke to 3 different people and was told I would be given a refund but management had to process it and someone would call me back from management the next day. Shockingly, no one called. When I called them to follow up they gave me some excuse about why they didn't call and how they were busy. Everyone's busy. I don't really care what your excuse is. This place clearly doesn't understand consumer/patient concerns or care for that matter. They do a poor job of communicating, have long wait times to speak to someone on the phone and as other reviewers have mentioned it's always a different story depending on how you speak to. read more

My dermatologist recommended Carepoint as a way to save money on an expensive topical medication, so I agreed. She sent them the script, I contacted them with payment and insurance info, and they said I would receive it in 2 to 3 days by FedEx. Although my credit card was charged immediately, I still hadn't received the medication after seven days, so I contacted Carepoint. I was informed they hadn't "ordered" it yet, but would get it to me in two days. A normal pharmacy would have had it in stock or would have ordered it and informed me of a delay. I don't know what would have happened if I hadn't called, other than they would have had the use of my money longer without having to spend it to obtain the drug I purchased through them. They seem to be drop shippers, and shady ones at that. They are licensed as a pharmacy through the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation, where I plan to lodge a complaint. read more

I'm forced to use this so called pharmacy by dermatologist but my patience is wearing thin now. A couple months ago I suddenly received a txt msg that i have a refill without even visiting the doc. I clicked on the message, it took me to a verification page. Filled in date of birth, it asked authorization for co-pay... guess what, it all went through smoothly, it accepted and then a few days later I have meds at my doorstep for my address but to SOMEONE ELSE. I checked my bank, no charge of co-pay exist (phew), I called my doc, they never sent any refills for me. Wow, HIPAA violation screaming here. I called them and asking what is happening. The Customer Service rep was so mad at me (like it is my fault they have a mess instead of system), did not admit to any fault of their own, and I had to go out of my way and ship the meds back. Since then I get same txt msg EVERY TWO WEEKS to refill not my meds. Avoid this scam and HIPAA violating company. read more

I also had a similar experience as the above reviews. I thought I was also participating in auto refill. I called on a Saturday to refill my prescription, and they told me it would be delivered on Wednesday at the latest. Wednesday evening I called to check on medication. They told me it was coming and to wait until the next day. I asked the Customer Service Rep to check the FedEx tracking number. She comes back on the phone and tells me that the medication was NEVER refilled, on Saturday when I originally called it in. Then I spoke with Juan (who promised me delivery the next morning), he also had a very difficult time apologizing to me and kept referring to my situation as a "delay" - ummmm, that is not a delay that is a clear and evident error/mistake on their end - not placing the order on Saturday when I called in. When I arrived home Thursday evening there was no delivery, so I called and was told due to weather delays in Indiana, delivery would be Friday, or later. Granted they have no control over the weather, however it was frustrating none the less. I called the dermatologist, and expressed my frustration. I have an appointment with them in the near future and want to know what the benefit for them sending my prescription to carepoint, as there CLEARLY must be some benefit for them. I also went on Carepoint's website and left my information as I wanted to talk with them before posting a negative review, however no one from the company has contacted me - BIG SURPRISE. read more

I am quite surprised by the negative reviews for this company, though I cannot comment on "auto-refill,"my experience was excellent! I too was referred to this wholesale pharmacy by my dermatologist. The thought of paying little or nothing for my prescription(s), and having them sent directly to my home, more than excited me. I have had several prescriptions filled with this dermatologist and paid nearly $100 for one, so when my doctor told me the medications I would need, I had anticipated spending a good amount of money to get them filled. To my delight, I paid $25.00 for a two month supply of medication, of the two fill with Carepoint. One medication was $15.00, and the other was $10.00; I couldn't believe it! The staff was pleasant and it took about 5-10 minutes to confirm my order, verify my insurance, and take my payment and shipping information. My items arrived at my door the next day.
