This time was on hold for 20 minutes and gave up. I ended up calling a different store that had everything handled in less than an hour.

I have gestational diabetes and the lancet device and lancets I received do not go together. I reached out to my Dr.'s office and asked for a new script for either item, that way I can continue to check my glucose. They let me know that they spoke with someone at the pharmacy and he said he would make the change. I showed up at the pharmacy and the woman behind the counter asked me to check in on the tablet if I was picking up. I responded, "well it's more like a return or..." and before I could finish my thought, she interjected and said they can't take returns its CVS policy. I said, "ok, we'll I'm not sure what to do because the lancet device and lancets I received don't go together" and again, before I could finish my thought, she interjected again with the same response... that they can't take it back, it's CVS policy. I then had to explain that I contacted my Dr and she let me know she spoke with someone there who said they could change it. That's when the gentleman there spoke and said that he was the one who spoke to her and let her know he would be ordering a new device, but that it probably wouldn't be til Monday. Fine, thank you. I understand they have a ton of work to do, but a simple, "we're not able to take returns, but tell me what's going on and I'll see if there's something else we can do to help," would've gone a long way. I can respect policy but I also appreciate being listened to rather than dismissed.

CVS recommended Keefer's because they were unable to create the compound topical anesthetic I…read moreneeded for a procedure. I called and spoke with Greg(one of the pharmacists) and he was so kind over the phone. I had to rush the order because the first pharmacists and CVS did not tell me about Keefer's until I spoke with another pharmacist that told me about them right away. Greg understood the urgency and got on it right away. I was able to pick up the Rx the following day. I have a high deductible so Greg suggested I pay out of pocket with no insurance affiliation and it ended up significantly cheaper - by 50%. This was acceptable because I would just submit it for reimbursement to my HSA(Health Savings Account) similar to FSA(Flexible Spending). Apparently claiming one does not have insurance yields a cheaper cost - amazing how much less uninsured individuals are charged. This was definitely old school pharmacy but I liked it. My Mom was a pharmacist and it brought memories from my childhood. I walked around just looking at everything in the store. They have unique items. The prices were slightly higher than say Walmart or CVS/Walgreens so maybe that's why it seems the items don't appear too move as much - at least it appears that way (when items don't look like they've moved out of their spot on the shelf) but I could be wrong. I'm so bummed that I lived in Mount Prospect and Arlington Heights for ten years that I never walked into this place. I will DEFINITELY be coming back here again. If they provide the same cost for my other Rx then I will be giving them more of my business.

It is very far from where I live but I like giving them my business even on days when I don't have a doctor appointment upstairs. They don't have all those extras that you find at CVS, but they will attend to your meds and answer your questions in a soothing knowledgeable manner.

It's kind of a hit or miss; I've had good experiences and not-so-good experiences. No matter what time of the day you come here at, I swear this Walmart is always busy. I've never seen it slow on any day or any time. The parking can be kind of hectic because of this, too, but I usually just park in the back anyway to avoid it (gotta get my steps in). This Walmart is BIG and has everything a Walmart requires - food, clothes, toiletries, electronics, decor, seasonal stuff, etc. Sometimes I find their shelves empty and running out of a lot of stuff. Sometimes I find their shelves fully stocked, it's really up in the air when I come in. I've usually always had a good experience with the staff though; they're pretty helpful and nice. The worst experience I had was when my sister and I bought a TV here for our apartment. We bought a TV and had a good experience with the employees; however, when we opened up the TV at home there was a huge crack in it and it was not a workable TV because of it. We went back to customer service and it turns out they re-sold a returned, broken TV. They said it should have never been on their shelves. It was just a whole ordeal and took kinda long and then we had to buy another TV since that was the last one within the price range we were looking for. I've been to better Walmarts and I've been to worse, this one is okay if you're looking for simple items!
