The entire staff was very friendly from the first phone call through service on site. Waiting and treatment time was efficient. I felt heard by medical professionals and well taken care of. The ease of prescriptions being filled on spot was extremely convenient and helpful. I was on a road trip back to Texas (15 hrs) but had extreme low back pain and muscle spasms. Came here with a dog bite that was actively bleeding. They said I can sign you in as a walk in but there's a bit of a wait. Meanwhile I'm actively bleeding in 3 spots on my body. I complained. They take me back and put me in a waiting room which takes 45 minutes for any medical provider to appear and provide service. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. The doctor was super understanding and helpful and immediately referred me to the emergency road down the street because she said she wouldn't be able to do the proper tests at this location. Absolutely horrible experience at CareSpot Urgent Care - 3581 SW Archer Rd, Ste 40, Gainesville, FL. I came in on July 31, 2025, at around 4:40 PM, in pain and seeking medical treatment. I have valid health insurance through the University of Florida, but the front desk staff refused to check me in unless I paid a $400 balance upfront -- something I've never been asked before. I tried to explain my right to seek care, but instead of helping me, they threatened to call the police. The woman wearing a mask was whispering to the other staff member, and both of them were completely unprofessional. They had no empathy, no customer service skills, and made it feel like helping people was some kind of game. I left in tears, without treatment, still in pain. I truly believe I was discriminated against -- denied medical help and treated unfairly based on the color of my skin and my country of origin. The way I was spoken to and dismissed because of my accent made this even more clear. This was open discrimination and completely unacceptable in any healthcare setting. CareSpot needs to find replacements for these individuals and hire better-trained, compassionate, and professional receptionists. The current staff gives your entire business a terrible reputation. CareSpot should have done better in hiring professional, customer-focused front desk employees. This is a shame. After walking in one day hoping for medical care, I was told it would be a 2-3 hour wait. They offered to give me an appointment for the next day and I made the appointment. I checked in early to complete all "paper work", which was actually on a tablet. It would ask you several questions per page. If you didn't type in what they wanted, you had to search one by one for each item to figure out what it didn't like. Also, the screen uses very light blue print on a white background. If you don't have 100% top notch vision, this doesn't work. I just took my driver's license eye exam 3 days earlier, and wizzed through it with zero problems. When an hour and a half had passed after my appointment time, I asked the receptionist when I might be seen. She told me that I was going to be called next. A few minutes later, they called someone else. When they finally called me the woman taking my vitals was very difficult to understand, (no accent), she took me to a room without chairs and told me to sit. I asked her where, and she replied that she meant for me to stand on the scale. Then we went into another room were she was writing my information on a form, and then asked me what the scale said. When the NPI finally came in the visit was less than three minutes. Not only will I not ever be going back, but I wouldn't even take my dog there. DON'T GO HERE!!! read more

Visited this place for cough, congestion and clogged ears. Provider wanted to irrigate my ear, but they had no water! I was told plumbing issues, water had to be turned off. Luckily, I took with me a bottle of water and that's what they used!!! The assistant then dropped the equipment she was going to use on the floor and made no attempt to clean the part that would be inserted in my ear. Beg for a different location! The GIRLS who work in here have no cares about what your daily schedule consists of. Come an hour early or on time, you'll still wait an hour and a half even if they recommend you to come in early. Stay completely away from the location. Two days in a row, I was almost late for work and the next day I had to call out because some how one of the machines was all of a sudden suspiciously broken. After waiting for an hour and a half and watching everyone ahead of us plus new people get seen, I was told they would try to see us soon. At hour 3, I got a refund (yes, you pay up front--so you feel compelled to wait?) and went to the ER. My son was seen in 10 minutes and by then had a fever of 103 and was given IV fluids immediately. Three Strike-Outs in Three Years. Whatever ails you, rest assured you'll walk out of Care Spot insulted, $140 poorer, and no better off for having visited. First of all, telephoning Care Spot wont do you any good. Nobody answers the phone. Ever. Eventually you'll be directed by a tape recorder to go online to schedule an appointment. We did. Enter the front door, if you're not put off by all the snarky paper signs instructing you not to accompany your family member, followed by about six exclamation points, and you'll be facing two thoroughly shiftless, disinterested girls sitting at the counter, staring numbly at computer screens- Not typing, just staring. A minute may elapse before you punctuate the silence with, "Ahem", or shout, "How ya doin?" Begrudgingly, one semi-embalmed girl might separate her eyes from the screen long enough to reply with "What kind of insurance do you have?". Wrong question, so I answered with "We're here for a 1:45 appointment. My daughter has a nail fungus." Viscerally irritated by our having interrupted whatever was on her screen, the girl handed us a greasy, fingerprint-laden tablet and forms to detail our insurance. We filled it out, and handed it in. "What is this insurance? We've never heard of this?" It is Samaritan Cost Share, which is a nationally recognized medical cost sharing program. Now both girls are scrunching up their brows, not just with confusion, but utter disdain for the first non-Blue Cross Blue Shield card they've ever seen in their richly-experienced Gen Z lives. At no point do they ask the obvious and pertinent question, "How can we help you today?". Eventually, they exhaust the sum of their mental resources and tell us, "Today's visit will be $140". I asked them, "We don't even know what the diagnosis is, nor what the course of action will be.. how do we already know it'll cost $140?". The masked set of eyes tersely reiterated through her paper mask, "It just is.That's the minimum fee." We handed her my credit card, and she swiped it thanklessly. We were one of only two parties seated in the waiting room. For two hours, we wait... with a restless six year old in tow... For two hours, we stare at dirty, peeling wallpaper. A hand print adorns the wall near an air conditioning vent about 13 feet above the floor... how it got there could only pique the interest of someone driven to ponder such things by a two hour wait. A children's nook, once stocked with toys and coloring books is now cluttered with metal file cabinets. Two hours after the appointment we were compelled to make online, we finally get seen. Twenty minutes later, my daughter emerges from the exit door, papers in hand. "Nail fungus", it read. Well, duh! We knew that. That's why we made the appointment. Rifling further, we see no prescription, nor any course of action taken. We ask the girls, still stoically staring at their computer screens, "Can you give us a synopsis of what this paperwork is? I see no prescription to treat the nail fungus." One girl exasperatedly rises from her seat, looks at the papers, and says, "You should see a podiatrist.", to which I replied with, "Are you serious? If your facility wasn't capable of treating a nail fungus, why did you take our money and waste three hours of our time? You knew what we were coming in for when I set the appointment!" The masked set of eyes just stood in silence. I added, "So, you keep our $140, and we leave empty-handed, is that it?" More silence. Eventually, the second masked computer screen-starer rises from her chair as if to relieve the first masked screen-starer of some of the cruel abuse I was dishing out, and says, "There are some things we can do here, and some that we can't" . Three strikes I've now given to this place. A year before, I brought my other daughter in with a skin infection near her eye. They took our money, and sent her out the door with neither treatment nor prescription. We had to go to the emergency room to get some action. A year before that, I brought the boy of a family friend who was going into anaphylaxis from a bee sting. This Care Spot refused to see him without the written consent of his father who was in in France working inside a nuclear reactor. No doctor is on staff at Care Spot. Ever. This place is less than worthless, for it occupies space that a legitimate business could use. read more

The 2 girls at the front desk turned me down even after I informed them I could not breathe. They took my oxygen levels with a finger oximeter and reassured me that I was not having difficulty breathing... like ??? lol this place is a joke. My partner walked in with two open sliced fingers from a work-related injury that occurred at 7am. We immediately drove to this location and waited promptly for it to open so we could get seen first. We have now been waiting over two hours to be seen for an open wound that is still actively bleeding. I couldn't get an appointment for the same day (to be fair I had tried only visited the website to make one in the afternoon) but they have this wait in line online feature that you fill out your info and it tell you what time to come in to experience the lowest wait. The man thinks he is God's gift and knows everything and made me feel like I was stupid for coming in. I wanted to be tested for Lyme disease since I spent the summer in Vermont... he asked if I saw a tick or a rash and when I said no he said I couldn't have Lyme then. My visit to the CareSpot on Archer Road in Gainesville was the worst medical care I have received in my entire life. To keep it short, I was denied treatment for high blood pressure, even though I my pressure was taken and it was diagnosed as high. I was given conflicting reasons -- which means I also was lied to during my visit. First, I was told I would have to come back for a second appointment, which would cost another $200, and then I was told the clinic does not treat high blood pressure. All BS. Those are SEVEN hours that I spent sitting at the lobby, in pain, waiting to be seen by the PA. After being admitted to a room, I waited around 90 more minutes for a 20 minute consultation. Had everything taken less time (I was originally given a 60-90 minute wait time expectation), I would've given it at least 4 stars. It's ridiculous. Overall, this place is great. They provide quick care at a very reasonable price. Now, reasonable might be relative to how much you make but for what you get here it is a good deal. I have actually been to this location twice, mostly due to the fact that my PCP was booked ahead and I needed to see someone right away. So the reason why I am giving this place a very low rating has to do with the fact that I was misdiagnosed and more. So let me explain, I made an online appointment and checked in. I went back to my car due to limiting exposure with people and I got a call from a nurse. I explained my symptoms and asked I come in. She guided me to room 1 and took my vitals. Since I had a sore throat she swabbed my throat for strep and said the doctor would come in shortly. The doctor came in, took some more vitals, asked about my symptoms, and asked I open my mouth so he can see my throat. As soon as I opened it, he said that he knew immediately I had strep and would not even bother with a test. He said that he had seen it plenty of times before and that indeed it was. So he explained he was going to prescribe me antibiotics and lidocaine. He stepped out of the room and I ended up texting my girlfriend that I had strep. Obviously she was shocked and scared because we live together. Moments later the doctor poked his head back into the room and asked about what location I use to pick up my prescriptions from. I told him that I told the nurse already but reconfirmed with him. Then he said that he did not know the nurse had already swabbed my throat for strep and the results actually came back negative. He said I could still take the antibiotics and it would not hurt to take them. He then left the room and the nurse shortly after came in. She had my paperwork and explained some of it. I then asked her if I needed to take the antibiotics since the result came back negative and she said it would not do me any harm and that I should take some probiotic after I finish the antibiotics. I also asked her since I do not have strep then what do I have if its not strep. Quick explanation: I actually have tiny white slime/mucus on the side of my throat. She said it was bacteria. She ended up giving me my paperwork and I left. So here are my issues: Why would a medical professional automatically assume a health problem without proper testing especially when the necessary tools are available? Luckily for me, the nurse had actually gotten to me first and swabbed me for strep. Otherwise I would have had to tell my employer I have strep and they would not allow me to work at all. To add more confusion, they did not even indicate the result of my test. Secondly, why would I take medication for something I did not test positive for? I can understand if the medication will not hurt me if I took it but that has several impacts. By prescribing medication I may not need that also impacts my expenses. That is less money out of my pocket which is worse especially in our current climate. I hope people are held accountable and can understand the severity of what they are doing. I wish I could give negative stars. This place was amazing at first, my fiance has strep and the real doctor gave him all he needed. When we went in for a refill this Nurse practitioner came in, barely looked at his throat and said "Oh you need steroids"...he took them for 2 days and almost suffocated. She wouldn't refill his prescription. We knew what we needed, she didn't care. This isn't an urgent care place, it's wait for 2 hours or make an appointment 2 days in advance.
