Grilled Salmon Steak

Pros: big portions. Cons: very saucy vegetables. Fried shrimp tasted like it came from a frozen box. Everything was very salty.

They close at 10pm on Sunda nights which is when we went. I would go on Sat nights in the future

First then trying Caribbean Cabana food, usually go to Bakewell for Guyanese food. Walked in and was seated right away, our server usha was very polite and friendly. It's actually cute and clean. The food which I forgot to take pics of. It's actually 10/10 the jerk lamb soft and cooked to perfection. Chicken fried rice and wontons was really tasty! Great place for Caribbean Chinese food.

My first time at a Guyanese restaurant and I was not disappointed! Jenna was an awesome server, there was also a photographer but we didn't take advantage of it this evening. Everything was filled with flavor! The mango chutney and peppa sauce offered on the side were delish! Love love loveeeeee! Definitely coming back The ambiance reminded me of a buffet style seating arrangement but we were served.

This was an awful experience, after walking in we were asked indoor/outdoor seating , we were seated in their backyard style tables which were sticky and unstable. We waited for about 20 mins no one came out so we went inside and asked to be seated i doors. We ordered pepper shrimp fried rice and chicken lo mein and steamed shrimp wontons. They food was cold and tasteless. The one star is for the sprite. A noooooo for me.

Absolutely disgusting. I ordered from this restaurant through DoorDash and it was a complete waste of money. The food arrived looking sloppy, smelled awful, and tasted even worse. It was so nasty I couldn't even finish a single bite I'm seriously considering reporting this place to the health department because I don't know how they think it's okay to serve food like this to people.completely unacceptable Never again -- save your money and order somewhere else!" I really wish I could give zero star "I honestly think anyone who's had a bad experience with this place should be reporting them to the health department. The food is unacceptable and could seriously make someone sick. This restaurant needs to be shut down or put out of business before it harms more people

I haven't had black pudding all year and was pleasantly pleased by cabana's serving last night. It was fresh and tasty. The roast lamb fried rice was also delicious (as always) and the service was efficient. We sat outside which had a nice a vibe and I was excited to hear they offer hookah but unless you're sharing it I couldn't see myself paying $50 for myself. Regardless this was a way better visit than when I've visited after the club around 3am, I'm glad I chose this place for dinner before the club.

Duck curry with dal roti, oxtail with pea and rice, House Special Fried Rice, House Special Lo Mein

A Caribbean Chinese dinner under the train tracks. Looking into the restaurant, it looks closed because of the dark windows, but it surely opened. The interior is simple with opened space, placed with table and chairs. Sat down and had a spread to share. Order the chi cha chicken and it's amazing, tender, juicy and crispy. The combo platter has an assortment of fried food, including fish, tenders, wings, and shrimp. For the entree, we got curry duck with dal roti, oxtail with peas and rice, house special rice and noodles and jerk chicken. My favorite was the curry duck. I love the dal roti sopping up the curry; but be mindful of the bones. The sorrel was refreshing with a strong clove taste. The service was friendly and informative. We asked for the surprise birthday cake and the waitress knew the secret code and added a Caribbean birthday song.

Jerk Chicken Lo Mein

If you want some banging Lo Mein and delicious chicken corn soup then this is thee Spot!! I ordered the Jerk Chicken Lo Mein but was EXTREMELY underwhelmed by the jerk chicken strips..they did not taste anything like jerk chicken strips in my opinion..the chicken tasted like soggy fried chicken chopped into tiny strips. But the Lo Mein definitely made up for that. It was delicious enough to be eaten without any meat. The soup was also amazing! Perfect consistency and flavor..I regretted not ordering a large!

This was dry and salty never again

You be the judge just look at the food is you can eat it great.. so damm salty I wouldn't recommend eating from there again

The food at Caribbean Cabana is always amazing! After feeling a bit under the weather for a few day, I needed some comforting, delicious food. I had some of their corn soup ( take out ) for dinner tonight. Let me tell you it did not disappoint! It hit "the spot" : Tasty, warm, comforting and satisfying! Thank you Caribbean Cabana for serving such great dishes everyday. You are my go to place for delicious meals no matter what the occasion. Check it out guys you will be very please!

You get what you pay for. In terms of a last minute group setting this is an alright place. The food isn't that great but as I said - convenience. The tiramisu wasn't great either. Complaints at our dinner was that the curry snapper was filled with Geera. The Lobster tail has no flavor and the pepper sauce was so weak so it couldn't flavor it. The presentation of the food looked good though & the service was good. Their Tiramisu isn't authentic & was mid.

L was pretty surprised that he liked the food so much. We've had Dominican food plenty of times, it's not something we eat often but since this place had great reviews, I wanted to try it; the pernil was really good here. It wasn't overly seasoned. I did throw away the excess oil from the pork, other than that, it was tender, juicy and delicious. The lil salad was a great side to the fatty meat. Will definitely return to try other items.

And I'm saying that as a Dominican with a Dominican grandfather who cooks just like this. I have NEVER been able to find a place that makes rice the way my grandpa does. Like that real, home-cooked Dominican rice that actually tastes like something. And of course I don't always want to bother him when I'm in the mood for good Dominican food... so I'm genuinely so happy I found this place. Ordering was super easy and pickup was quick. Prices are also really good for the amount of food you get. And everything I've tried has been delicious. The beans though... oh my God. I'm still thinking about the beans. For the amount of food you get for the price, it's amazing! I can't wait to keep ordering from here, and I'm honestly already thinking about placing larger orders for events in the future. If there's one local business in Queens you should support, it's this one. Hands down one of the best Dominican spots!

A Reliable Haven Near JFK (Especially for Late Arrivals!) I…read morehad been on a work assignment in the area for a while and have visited The Door several times. Each experience has been even better than the last, and it has quickly become a reliable local go-to. My most recent visit really saved the day. I had family fly into JFK, and by the time they got through the airport, it was after 8:00 PM. They were starving, and The Door was one of the few quality places nearby where we could actually sit down for a proper meal at that hour. As usual, it did not disappoint: The Food: Even late in the evening, the food was excellent and--most importantly--fresh. The Service: The staff was friendly and incredibly fast, which my hungry family definitely appreciated. The Vibe: There were some gentlemen at the bar having a very good time (read: they were a bit noisy!), but it didn't take away from the meal. The overall experience was still top-notch. I was once again so glad I chose to eat here. If you need a welcoming spot with great food near the airport, this is it!

Thank you to our waiter who was very attentive. We had a wonderful time today!

Why did I wait so long to come here?!…read more I mean, I know why. It's a bit of a trek from where I live. But I'll happily travel for good food, and Trinciti absolutely justified the journey. As an Indian, I don't say this lightly. I know my Indian food. I was already aware of the historical overlap between Indian and Caribbean cuisines, but Trinidadian food fascinated me. The familiar spices and flavors are there, yet they've evolved into something entirely their own. You can taste the migration story, the adaptation, and the creativity in every bite. A quick practical note because Instagram reels had me misinformed. They do take cards. You don't need cash. Also, parking isn't exactly abundant, and there aren't many nearby places to sit with your takeaway. My advice is to grab a table and eat there. The space itself is small and pretty no-frills, so if you're coming for ambiance, this isn't that kind of place. But if you're coming for flavor, you're in exactly the right place. The setup is simple. You line up, order when it's your turn, and move things along. It's a busy spot, so a little menu reconnaissance goes a long way. The staff are efficient and patient, but they're not mind readers. Asking them whether shrimp or chicken is "better" feels like asking someone whether you should prefer chocolate or vanilla. Both are good. It depends on what you like. We ordered the dhalpuri roti, which is a soft flatbread stuffed with seasoned ground lentils. If you're sharing, ask for it not to be wrapped. Otherwise, it comes rolled up like a wrap. We filled ours with both the curried goat and the oxtail because we weren't there to play it safe. Both were excellent, paired with those comforting, home-style potatoes that soak up all the flavor without overwhelming you with spice. I also couldn't leave without trying the doubles, and we kept it plain. Oh. My. God. Flavor bomb. At its heart, it reminded me of chole bhature's distant cousin. The same comforting chickpea soul, but interpreted through Trinidad's lens with pepper sauces and chutneys that make it unmistakably its own. I honestly think the chutneys are what take it over the top. For the bake and shark though Pay first, take your number, and when they call you up, tell them how you'd like it dressed. Personally, I have a "trust the chef and give me everything" philosophy, so I said yes to it all. The result was a glorious mess of crispy fried shark piled high with pineapple, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, and an array of vibrant chutneys that I am still thinking about. They do not skimp on the fish. Watching them assemble it from the front row is part of the fun. Before you leave, do not skip the cassava cake. The raisin dessert was a bit too sweet for my taste, but that's entirely personal and worth trying if you have a sweeter tooth than I do. They also sell plenty of snacks and hot sauces, so take a look around before heading out. One final thing I appreciated. They have a restroom and a sink stocked with soap. Trust me, you are going to get messy. That's part of the joy of eating here. If you're the kind of person who side-eyes people for eating with their hands, this might not be your scene. If you're willing to embrace the delicious chaos, Trinciti will reward you generously. I left full, happy, and wondering why I had let distance keep me away for so long. Some places are worth the drive. Trinciti is absolutely one of them.

My Trini friend was shocked that I;ve never had doubles and so this day was my lucky day. When you reach, the servers take your order along with as many toppings and additions. They also had bake and shark, bake and saltfish, and other items to choose from such as dhal puri roti, pholourie with tamarind sauce, it was my first time so I didn't go too crazy and wanted to appreciate the essence of the doubles. I would go back again. It is takeout, so don't get too comfy. Make sure you're ready to grab your order and take that first bite after you leave or reach your destination!

I've been wanting to check out Continent BK for a while and finally had the chance to visit. The…read morerestaurant is located inside Hotel Indigo, which gives it a nice, tucked-away feel. The space itself is pretty small--even with the upstairs seating area. It was actually smaller than I expected. Thankfully, it wasn't crowded at all when I went. I had originally considered hosting my birthday dinner here, and after seeing the layout, I'm glad I didn't. The space doesn't really lend itself to an intimate vibe for larger parties. It feels better suited for smaller groups or a casual dinner. Our host was very nice and offered helpful suggestions, which I appreciated. The menu is a bit limited, but the upside is that many of the appetizers and sides are shareable--and even some of the entrées can be split, which works well for a group. We ordered the oxtail lo mein, scotch bonnet fried chicken, yuca fries, and lobster fried rice. Overall, everything was tasty and enjoyable. The oxtail lo mein and lobster fried rice stood out the most for me in terms of flavor. The yuca fries were solid as well. The scotch bonnet fried chicken, however, didn't wow me. It wasn't bad at all, but there was nothing particularly memorable about it. It's actually one item I wouldn't mind seeing replaced with something a bit more unique. I didn't order any drinks this time around, but I might try a cocktail if I visit again. Overall, it was a good experience with solid food and friendly service--just keep the cozy size in mind when planning your visit.
