I hate to have to leave this review because this place has been a staple of mine for more than a decade. As a jerk chicken aficionado, this place had the best flavored jerk chicken in the DMV. But there's much more to running a restaurant and just because the product is good doesn't mean you can't slack off on the other necessities. Caribbean Gardens is a what you would consider whole in the wall. If no one ever recommended it, you would never walk in because it looks unkept and unsanitary. It used to be slightly better but they've never felt the need to do better. In the past I didn't mind because of the superior product but this last time was the last straw. After not ordering from this spot for over 5 years for living outside of the DMV, I looked forward to going back to this place. It looked worse than what I remembered and something told me I was going to be unsatisfied. I ordered the "large" jerk chicken platter as usual and made the grave mistake of leaving without checking my food. What I saw when I opened the box was literally half a thigh, a piece of chicken back with little meat, a slender cut of breast meat, and the bottom piece of a drumstick with just skin and no meat. I ordered a beef patty with my meal so I'm not sure exactly how much I paid for just the jerk but the total was $22. To be fair the flavor was still good but the experience will not allow me to go back. I hope they get something figured out but as of now it's a no for me.

Ordered 3 goat roti from UberEats. They wraps were not cooked completely. There was mostly bone, very little goat and no potatoes at all. We all ended up picking out the little bit of meat and throwing the rest in the trash. Big Waste if Money!!!! I will never order from here again.

The porridge is bomb!! I was scared because I just moved here from NY but they definitely didn't disappoint at all. Will be a returning customer for sure.

We started with the Oysters Rockefeller, which were rich and flavorful, followed by the Grand Marnier Society Wings--a standout appetizer with a great balance of sweet and savory flavors. The Mac & Cheese was creamy and made for the perfect side. For our entrées, we ordered the Calypso Pan Seared Branzino and the Coconut Curry Snapper. Both dishes were served with vegetables of the day, rice and peas, and sweet plantains, creating a well-rounded and satisfying meal. The seafood was cooked well, and the Caribbean-inspired flavors added a unique twist to each dish. For drinks, we enjoyed The Pearl, the Lavender French 75, The Golden Hour, and an Old Fashioned. Each cocktail was well-crafted and paired nicely with the menu. We finished with the Warm Cookie Skillet, topped with vanilla bean ice cream and a caramel drizzle. It arrived warm, gooey, and was the perfect dessert to share. Beyond the food, the renovated space feels modern and inviting, making it a great option for date nights, celebrations, or a night out with friends. If you're looking for an elevated seafood experience with Caribbean-inspired flavors, Society Seafood is worth checking out.

I had a taste for Caribbean food and had this place on my "to try"…read more I paid a little under $60 for 1/4 of jerk chicken ($16), coco bread ($4), red snapper - escovitch style ($35), rice and peas and a scoop of plantain. Not gonna lie, although the jerk chicken looked good, it was missing something seasoning wise. My red snapper barely had onions and carrots. NO PEPPERS. The rice and peas tasted like they were missing coconut milk. While I was waiting, I ordered a red stripe. They charged me $10.60 for that. I can get a case for that price. I was expecting $6 max. I felt a little cheated.

The sauce was so bland I started wondering if the seasoning just forgot to clock in for its shift. Calling it "jerk" shrimp was generous--there was nothing jerky about them unless you count how rubbery they were. The shrimp tasted like they were cooked by someone who mentally checked out before the pan even heated up. Whatever jerk flavor was advertised must've taken a detour, because it never made it anywhere near my plate. And the vegetables? They had all the energy of a mandatory Monday morning meeting. Overall, this dish promised bold Caribbean flavor but delivered a masterclass in disappointment. I won't be ordering it again. And honestly, if blandness were a sport, this dish would be taking home the gold. Oh, and it was overpriced. P.S. Despite being given the wrong order, the service was top tier and amazing.

Just a note that the food does take a while to come out so if you're ordering with a large group make sure to pass the menu around beforehand so you can order when you sit down. We started with the fried food platter Friday platter and everything was delicious. It came with plantains and okra and fries. The entrees are quite large and if you wanted you could split them as well. I got the stew chicken with rice and plantain and it was extremely flavorful and great comfort food. The waiter we had did not speak a lot of English so I think some things were kind of lost in translation when we ordered, but overall my group and I were satisfied.

To me the food to me was fairly average as far as haitian food goes and I was missing my favorites like griot and marinade, but it is in no way bad! My friend and I definitely enjoyed and cleared our plates! With there not being too many haitian food options in the area, I would definitely recommend this place to someone looking to enjoy a simple haitian dinner in a welcoming environment. Much respect to the owner for shining a light on haitian cuisine in MD! Also, as a tip I would Be sure to check out the menu before going as certain things like the black rice is only served on the weekends.

At heart, I'm a man that truly enjoy most Caribbean dishes ( oxtails, goat, curry/jerk chicken,…read moreroti, etc ) So, I set out on a quest to give a new Caribbean cuisine restaurant a shot at winning me over. That's when I bumped into Caribbean Dish... The name got me, yes it's basic, but the title was exactly what I was looking for. The restaurant is in a small unassuming parking lot... if you don't know it's there, you probably will miss it ( so glad I didn't !! ) The minute I walked in, I felt authentic family vibes ( something I look for when choosing my Caribbean locations ) The service was very friendly, and they cleared everything up when I wasn't sure if my particular craving could be fulfilled ( the combo I desired wasn't on their daily menu ) My sights were set on the oxtail and curry goat combo ( of course with rice & peas and veggies ! ) And when I say the goat was tender, and seasoned to perfection... while the oxtails had that juicy meatiness that will for sure keep me coming back. The rice & peas were cooked just right ( texture was on point ) and the veggies still had that freshness that brought everything else together. I love my Caribbean dishes saucy and not dry ( they get two thumbs up in that department ! ) Family vibes, cheerful greeting, and amazing food.... Caribbean Dish you just locked yourself in a loyal customer !!!!! Give them a shot and I can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed !!!
