This is exactly what Acworth needs! Culture and delicious food. The ambience is perfect, family friendly with island vibes playing in the background. They have refreshing drinks and comedy on Thursday nights with a free shot. The employers are so friendly and personable. I love it here!

Supposed to be Coconut Carrot Bread Pudding. That was a lie.

Love Caribbean food so was excited to finally check this place out on Friday night. First, the music was great and the space is pretty cool. Becca, our server, was Great, doing the best she can with the service. Unfortunately, outside of that, no reason to return. The food is so overpriced it is ridiculous. I know Oxtails, and $34 for 2 oxtails is absurd. Now the brown sauce was really good, but even that was 3 spoons at best. Oxtails are not cooked on the spot, so zero reason it should take an hour to be serviced this plate. Very disappointing. The mac & cheese was dry, the plantains were ok, one plate was cooked long the other too soon. The coconut carrot bread pudding was not good, no flavor at all and had a strange texture, weird, definitely not like bread pudding or carrot cake. Draft was advertised for $5 but we were charged $7. The kitchen service is horribly slow, we sat for an hour before getting the entrees. Keep in mind, maybe 12 tables if that, most 2 seats, and we waited an hour. People around us would get 1 plate at the table, then 20 mins later another. We received the sides than 15 mins later the entrees. Not sure what the heck is the issue, but they need someone experienced in the kitchen. If we're didn't enjoye the music, we would have left at 30 minutes. Not sure how the Curry plates or Stew plates would be, but not wasting time or money to find out.

The menu items were freshly cooked, tender and full of flavor. We ordered the jerk chicken rasta pasta platter and the brown chicken stew with 1 side item. Prices were reasonable and staff were super welcoming. Easy parking on the Main Street in town. A winner overall.

Located in Downtown Acworth we ate here during the Art fest when they had only been open for 2 days!

This is a new restaurant located in Downtown Acworth. We ate here on day 2 of being open during the Art fest. We were sat promptly and our waiter gave us a pretty drink menu and verbalized the food menu options. We chose the Shrimp Curry, and Jerk Chicken as our entrees. We enjoyed the food and ate it all. There are limited tables for indoor seating but the bar was full, and they have a back deck that's looks nice if it's a pretty day. We didn't get drinks but they did look really good.

Slow cooked Ox tail ( Perfection) curry shrimp

This was amazing!!! We spend a lot of time in the Caribbean and it really feels like you are there. The smell of slow cooked, spiced food, cold drinks, and super, super friendly staff. Come and try it, don't be in a rush, and enjoy getting a place to sit back and escape from the crazy schedules and traffics we all have to deal with!

Curry Goat and Roti. Unbelievable taste that had my taste buds wanting more.

Absolutely ! Best Caribbean Food and Vibe! Definitely a spot to try out. You will not be disappointed.

We had a great meal in downtown Acworth. The food was spectacular. The goat curry was so delicate and melted in your mouth. The jerk chicken was spot on, and the roti was enough for the whole table. The potato pies were so delicious that we ordered more.

    Roti

The food was delicious. We got the chicken curry & pumpkin w/ roti. We cleaned our plates. Susan and her son and staff were very friendly, explained the menu and gave great recommendations. Cute place inside and the back patio looks fun too! We will be back.

Tried the snapper curry. Very impressed. This place is authentic. Acworth needs as many home grown businesses as possible.

We ended up updating the order to be fulfilled in half pans so 2 can fit in the chafing pans. That worked out perfectly! Pick up was simple and easy, however they didn't have boxes. Each pan easily went into my truck but required a few trips back & forth. The quality of the food was super fresh, enough spice and the rice & peas were the star of the show. Not a drop was left! Cabbage, jerk chicken, plantains, cocktail beef patties & rasta pasta made for something everyone could eat. Guests were pleased and there was plenty to send relatives home with a plate. If you're in the Dallas/Hiram area, check them out.

Seems like everyone was ordering to go since it was a Friday night, but they did have a seating area too. It's what you'd expect of a whole in the wall spot. Not sure what the bathrooms are like, cus I stayed in the front. Only thing I didn't see, but might've been ok the menu was the Jamaican patty display. I ordered an oxtail plate with rice & peas, cabbage, & plantain. The rice & peas were kinda soft -- I prefer mine more stern. The plantains were a bit rubbery like they sat out for a lil while, the oxtails had a sweet flavor to it, but the cabbage was fresh. Portion size was decent. Got the large for $30+ & had left overs. I'd come back again, but would prolly stick to a small - which is $19 before taxes.

Everything is prepared fresh and customer service was exceptional. The owner was on site and even more lovely than the pictures on display throughout the restaurant showcasing the visitors of all status that frequent Tassa. Many were notable including one from one of my favorite cooking shows! All items ordered were delicious which included a curry goat roti, a vegetarian roti and six doubles. I had heard about doubles from Trinidadian friends, but do not recall experiencing personally. The couple in line before me ordered 10 and I was intrigued! Doubles consisted of chick peas and potatoes inside of a round pastry that resembled a flattened biscuit, but with much better flavor. The filling was available in varying levels from hot to a bit sweeter. I selected a mixture of the two for my personal ones. Others I bought were hotter for my heat loving partner. Extremely popular in the Caribbean culture and now, I know why. Parking is available in the rear of restaurant, and ample dining space in two rooms. I thoroughly enjoyed this visit to Tassa for reasons mentioned above. Service has always been exceptional and informative - I ask questions! Will definitely return again and again!
