I have had a very tiring day yesterday; I've been up almost all night and this morning since I don't have much time and energy left I decided to go outside and eat breakfast outside. This place was a recommendation by my coworker and this is the nearest place I know near the construction site where we are working. I was welcomed by the places' relaxing atmosphere and their warm greetings and smiles. The customer service at this place is amazing. By recommendation I've ordered Coquito French Toast, I haven't heard about it and have zero ideas of what I will look or tastes like, I was a little taken aback when I was told that It has coconut in it because I am not fond of it but I surprisingly I loved it, in fact, I finished the whole plate. For the drinks, I ordered a Caribella house blend and I think it went well with the toast. After eating I've felt like all my energy has been restored, I will definitely give thanks to my coworker for recommending this place and you should try eating here too. read more

This place is excellent. My fiance and I are both of Caribbean descent and from Miami. The menu is creative with delicious, home-cooked dishes with a Caribbean twist. We shared the guava french toast and the Caribella skillet and both were flavorful. The kitchen is open and you can see everything being made. The espressos were bold and refreshing (we're espresso drinkers). The service is outstanding, everyone was welcoming, attentive, and helpful. The ambiance is very much relaxing and layout is intimate with a mix of Latin and Reggae music. The restaurant is very clean, and the bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Stopped in for brunch and was pleasantly surprised by their extensive menu options. My friend and I both ended up with egg sandwiches, and they were really good. The breakfast potatoes can use some work though. They were overly fried which made them a little hard and were mixed with veggies, which I wasn't expecting, nor was I a fan of. Also the cafe con leche had some very weak coffee because, my friend and I both agreed, it tasted like a cup of steamed milk. I would still go back because the service was great and our main meal was good. The prices are also extremely reasonable and as I stated before they have a ton of other options to try out. We were told it was a 35 min wait and as our apartment was just around the corner we decided to wait. Came back and after we were seated it was another 15 minutes before we had our drink order taken. It then took another 5/10 minutes for the drinks to appear, and we were missing an OJ. Our food order was taken and it was another 25 minutes before the food appeared. The potatoes were on the cold side but the sausage wrap and eggs were just ok. I would say 2/5 for food and 1/5 for service, really disappointing given the other positive Yelp reviews. Great Brunch spot. Frittatas take long to cook but are very well baked. Chicken in Chicken Waffles was a bit dry and the use of Chicken breast is not the greatest idea. But service is nice and coffee (we tried two types) were amazing. read more

Not really one to write reviews, but when I find a place like this, I want to make sure i support it any way I can. I saw some reviews mentioning long waits, and I have been a few times. During the week it's quieter, but when I have gone on a Sunday, I knew I'd have to wait, since anywhere you go that's good, there's a wait. To the service, they are genuinely friendly, which is refreshing. I think it is a family owned place, so you can tell by the way you are treated. The food is delicious! I have tried both their caribbean chicken skillet and coquito french toast and SOOO good! My boyfriend had the cubano sandwich and he said it was the tastiest he's ever tried. So, in short, places like Caribella are awesome to have in the neighborhood and I highly recommend it! P.S. Try their lattes! read more

Help needed. This is my first one star review on yelp and I feel a little guilty doing it. The staff seemed nice and hard working but there was not nearly enough of them and it made for a pretty bad experience. The small restaurant was about 3/4 full. It took about 10 minutes before anyone came to our table (we looked up the menu online and were fortunately able to order right away.) we ordered plain cups of coffee and orange juice, which didn't come to our table until 30 minutes later after I stood at the counter wife 10 minutes waiting for them. Our food came about 20 minutes after that. The food wasn't bad but was pretty basic - I could have made it myself at home in about 1/4 of the time. Overall time was about 1 hour - for eggs, hash browns a pancake, toast and burnt bacon. We came with our two year old and asked for a high chair or booster seat when we first got there. We asked for it again when they brought our drinks, again when they brought our food and they finally brought it to us with about 5 minutes left in our meal. Again, the staff seemed to be doing their best but needs some serious help. read more

And the passion fruit juice was missing the passion. I have no idea what it actually was. I gave up after two attempts. I left and got something (additional) to eat on the way home. I got 3 different orders of pancakes-coconut, buttermilk, and the Nutella. They were all very delicious! I'm a huge fan of coconut and the vanilla rum sauce that accompanied it was exquisite. The Nutella has just the right amount and was yummy! The fruits were fresh and a nice touch with everything. We also got the tropical wave and sunrise smoothies and they were both very good! The tropical wave with coconut flakes and the sunrise with blueberries were a nice addition to our meals. Definitely recommend this place for breakfast! Unique and delicious caribbean food at Caribella. I ordered the guava pancake and sorullitos de maiz and it was so yummy. BYOB, we loved it. We got a couple bottles of sparkling wine and complemented our breakfast/lunch. Prices are reasonable and food is great. Portions are small...definitely not shareable portions. Coquito drunk was good, a little too sweet for my taste. Atmosphere is great, good for a big group. Originally we were going to the place across, Habaneros, but they had no place for us to wait the 45 minute wait time plus they were cash only...so we headed here and don't retreat it a bit. I brought my family for brunch today and was super excited to try this place and support a small business. I was incredibly disappointed in the service-or lack there of that we received in addition to the ridiculous pricing for small portions and overly cooked/seasoned food. I ordered their famous coquito latte when one waitress brought out 3 cups of warm water on a hot summer day to an outdoor table-top ideal. My mom at that point asked for ice. The ice and latte came out several minutes later. This became a trend. We were the only diners at the place. When she came out with out ice we started our food order. We ordered a Jibarito, A Carabella special with substitution of guava pancakes and a skillet. We waited quite a while for the food. When the skillet came out it was cold and plantains were incredibly salty. Jibarito came out fine. My cari bella special was last to come out. I couldn't tell if I had been given the guava pancakes so I asked our new server who didnt seem to know what made the pancakes guava...was it in the batter? Was it a syrup? So he comes out with syrup and a side of sliced guava and said "Oh those were supposed to be on top." They were about the size of the palm of my hand. Little did I know the upcharge for these pathetic little things was $4.50. The guava was actually some kind of schmear that had been spread in between 3 pancakes and because they had gotten cold, it hardened like candy. The plastic knife and fork could barely cut through them. Totally over it, I asked for the check. Given that we were the only ones there, we were checked on minimally. The guy went in and they lock the door behind them to discourage people from entering. We waited 10 min or more and finally I took my payment inside to pay my bill. A bill was NEVER presented to me. Instead he spun around a tablet that prompted me to tip on a $46 tab! I asked to see the breakdown, he said "You had Jibarito, Skillet, Special a coffee and shot?" Yes. Also not to mention, I asked to have a bit more coffee added to mine to cut the sweetness of the latte...that took 10 min plus and yup they charged for an espresso shot. I add my tip..not gonna give 20% cause frankly they didnt earn it but I also understand times are tough so 15% would suffice. I selected printed receipt to get an itemized bill and he says their paper isnt working so I opt for text receipt. That's when I saw everything and at that point I just wanted to move on and out. We spent well over an hour here. About 10-15 of eating, the rest was a lot of waiting. Again, super disappointed that this wasn't a better experience. read more

LOVE Caribella, such a neighborhood gem! We've been there multiple times for breakfast and every item is so delicious. Definitely grab a coffee too, their Mocha and Chai Lattes are the best!! We sat on the patio this past time, and the server was so attentive and present, even with multiple tables. We felt very comfortable since the tables were spread out, server wore a mask and gloves the entire time, and we saw them sanitize tables within seconds of other guests leaving.
