Everything was great about this visit. The omlets were made perfectly. Bacon was made perfectly also. The waiter was attentive and on point

Their food is always amazing no matter when you go or how busy they are. I tend to frequent this cafe during the week due to the small size and less crowds and the one on one service you get from the staff is amazing. They are so nice and although the prices have gone up through the years I will continue to pay because they are worth it.

This place is a cute neighborhood joint for breakfast, brunch, and diner food. The staff is friendly and down to earth and all the signs and posters and decorations they have around the place is quirky and fun. It's a very relaxing and chill atmosphere. That being said, to me it really is a place to go to if you lived in the area. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here as I found most of the food average. It wasn't bad, but it was standard food as was the coffee. Decent prices and portions. You can tell the customers are close with the staff because they're all super friendly with each other. Like I said, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but I could see myself casually coming by on a rainy or snowy day if I lived in the area.

This is a great hidden gem in the neighborhood! We searched on Yelp to find a good breakfast spot because we got in very early from our flight and stumbled upon City Cafe. We were greeted very promptly by the waiter and we got some drinks and ordered pretty quick. The decor in the restaurant is all Cubs. Just what you would expect in Chicago. It felt nice and like home and we were excited for our food. The food came and they were VERY generous portion sizes (who doesn't love that?). We both got skillets. Mine was the Denver Skillet with scrambled eggs and his was the Meat Lovers Skillet with egg whites. Both were fantastic and the side pancakes were everything you could have wished for in a fluffy pancake. Checking out and finding someone so we could leave was a little tough which is the only reason I am only giving 4 stars. GREAT PLACE ! Go here if you get the chance you won't regret it

Great food & friendly service. I think my favorite huevos rancheros from a diner. The dining room is well-lit & clean.

Fast and Easy, their BLT is my go-to sandwich. Tasty cafe-style fries, as well.

Come to find out they've been going here for awhile since it's really close to his old apartment as well. He's a homeowner now in an adjacent neighborhood - please respect his privacy - and he still enjoys stopping by on the way back from Scott's Tots. The coffee was great - as were the empanadas! Typically I do not love savory breakfast but when it comes to empanadas Ima dog it down every time no complaints. We got: -meat empanada (me) -ham and cheese morning bun (my brother's fave) And for to drink: -Chicago fog -Lake Shore Chaga It was delicious - perfect complement to the crisp Chicago air. Excellent service as well! Truthfully, what really warmed me to this place is that my brother's dog Wibby used to love coming to get pets and a pup cup from the window. She's been gone about 4 months now so it's always special to see little reminders of her around the neighborhood. Xoxoxo

The shop is sparsely decorated but seems to be a real staple in the community, which felt special to visit as an outsider. My friend and I both ordered egg and goat cheese bagel sandwiches. I ordered an iced lavender matcha and my friend ordered a cappuccino. The sandwiches were made with boiled eggs, which felt extremely odd. The egg type was not clarified on the menu, but I feel like for a breakfast sandwich to include a boiled egg instead of a traditional fried or scrambled egg, that should be disclosed to customers with some sort of expectations. My friend said the cappuccino was "just like every other cappuccino I've ever had." The lavender matcha really just tasted like a regular matcha. It was good but not much lavender flavor! Our food also took a bit to come out, despite the coffee shop being empty (only one other person already dining when we came in) and what we ordered. It looked like there were only two workers. I personally wouldn't visit Sipping Turtle Cafe again, unfortunately. There are a lot of other great options around that satisfy me more.

It was better than I ever expected! There are about a million pastry options, first of all, which is the BEST! No shortage of sweet or savory options here. Second, the coffee menu was also awesome! I got a creamsicle iced something or another and it was soooo yummy. My boyfriend was very jazzed for a geisha coffee pour over and drank it with his pinky up of course because, fancy. The ambiance was PHENOMMMM truly can't get over the vibe. Every detail inside this place was so carefully curated and well thought out, it was stunning. Everywhere I looked I couldn't stop admiring something, from a sconce to a tabletop color to a bonsai. Everything was stunning. It was also so much bigger than I expected! I loved that there were so many different rooms and different seating options. In chatting with a team member, they offered us a little tour which was really the cherry on top. My boyfriend got to share his joy and knowledge of coffee and get a behind the scenes look at how they do what they do. Thank you, Milli by Metric! We truly can't wait to come back!

The pastries were just as tasty, though they were served quite cold, which left me wondering if they were pulled straight from a fridge. Service was great though! A delightful surprise was seeing that they also serve beautiful, full loaves of fresh bread. The cafe itself has a very warm, intimate ambiance. Just a heads up: seating is incredibly limited, giving it a snug neighborhood feel. I wouldn't recommend rolling up with a large group, but it's the perfect spot to grab a great coffee and a loaf of bread to go.
