    Nitro Latte
    Dave R.

We walked here from Birkdale village, which was very quick. This a great space with lots of seating for large groups and individuals wanting to do some work. Free wifi! I got a nitro latte which was good, and tasted how I wanted it to. Great place!

    Caramel caribou cooler

Tried the caramel cooler and it was way too sweet for me. I think it's even sweeter than the one at Starbucks or McDonald's. I probably wont get it again and I'll just stick with the espresso based drinks

She is AMAZING and super sweet. I came in today and was "greeted" (meaning he didn't say a word the whole interaction) by a bald man with a tattoo by his ear. He did not say "hi" or "how can I help" you or anything. Just started at me. I told him my order and before I could finish speaking (I needed to show him I was also purchasing a drink) he put my order in and walked away before I could even get the rest of my order out of my mouth. He immediately walked to the back. I did not pay because I was waiting to get his attention to let him know he still needed to ring up the drink and that he only rung up the bagel. He finally looked my way from the back and said "you can tap to pay" and then immediately turned around so he was unable to see or hear me raise the drink up and say "you didn't ring up the drink". Luckily the kind woman was in the front and took care of me. I hate giving a negative review because I love the lady with the red hair, but the other man was terrible.

Visiting from out of town so I wanted to try a local coffee place. The rating and the name sounded encouraging. Only one person working so the line to order was long. We asked for the egg sandwiches featured prominently on a sign at the entrance ... and they were not available. In fact, the bakery case was nearly empty. At 8:30 a.m. The woman behind the counter suggested two of their breakfast croissants. We asked to have them heated. After a, no kidding, 10 minute wait she let us know that she had broken the oven. So we asked for them cold because we needed to go. They were dreadful. Tossed mine. And in a wonderful display of irony, even their large screen television menu failed while we were in the room. I will say that the coffee was perfectly serviceable. Experiences like this are why people go to chains like Starbucks for coffee and breakfast. I would say I want my tip back, but I suspect she is so frazzled that she earned it and then some. Absolute disaster. I hope our experience was a one off.

The line was steady, the staff was hustling, and the smell of fresh bagels made the wait totally worth it. There had to be 15+ people hustling behind the counter (probably even more in the back), and despite constant flow of people coming in and what looked like nonstop online/call in orders, they had the operation running like a well-oiled machine. I ordered almost immediately, it just took a little while for the food to come out, which honestly was understandable considering how busy they were. The menu is huge with tons of bagel and cream cheese options, plus plenty of specialty sandwiches if you don't feel like building your own. I grabbed the Italiano special, a cheesesteak with the works, and two Asiago bagels for the next day (they're closed Sundays, so plan ahead!). The Asiago bagels were excellent, even the next morning they held up to perfection. The cheesesteak had great flavor with peppers and onions, though I would've loved a little more meat and a little less bread. The Italiano was also really tasty, but my order wasn't quite right. I asked for no roasted tomatoes or olives and to add onions, but it came with the tomatoes and no onions. Honestly the no olives was the most important part so not the end of the world. I fixed it at home with some onions and fresh banana peppers from the garden... again not a big deal, but worth mentioning. I'm sure if I was eating at the location they would've fixed it immediately. For around $30, I got two sandwiches, two bagels, and the sandwiches even came with chips, which was a nice surprise. Easy parking, easy to find, lots of seating (but inside and out -- a few picnic tables on the patio) and while the inside isn't anything fancy, that's not why you're here. You're here for solid bagels, great sandwiches, and a local spot that's clearly doing something right. I'd definitely come back, especially to try one of their breakfast sandwiches next time.

We appreciate their creative menu, with unique options that you can't find anywhere else. We usually go before 9am on a Saturday, when they aren't as busy. And our usual server, Makel, is always on top of everything, even if he is the only one serving tables at that time. We rotate between our favorites - 1. I like their quiches, breakfast enchiladas, and the two-egg plate. 2. My husband likes their Ranchero Scramble, breakfast enchiladas, and breakfast burrito. I'm usually disappointed with how restaurants cook scrambled eggs with cheese, but the chef at Neighborhood Cafe knows how to do it right. The eggs are never overcooked, and the cheese is always melted throughout. He sets the standard for how scrambled eggs should be made! I'll often rotate sides, but lately I've been having a half avocado with the eggs. The avocado is ALWAYS fresh and never brown. Other times, I'll get a salad or fruit. I appreciate that they have so many side options. If they have a quiche that I like (no asiago or goat cheese for me), I'll have the quiche entree. They serve that dish with two sides, and I always get the salad and fruit. Their dressings are homemade, and are so good! My husband's current favorite is the Ranchero Scramble. He adds their homemade red chili sauce (the one they serve on top of the breakfast burrito), and we both use it. It's amazing on the scrambled eggs, too! Their portions are large, their coffee is good and strong, and service is always so fast. We love Neighborhood Cafe!

The avocado toast was a mush of ingredients and inedible. My wife left 75% on the plate. The bacon was ok, but the homestyle potatoes were extremely over-seasoned, the eggs pale yellow without any taste, and the pancakes were dry and had a resemblance to cardboard that even the fake syrup couldn't offset. It speaks volumes if even my kids don't touch the food. The shining star was the mimosa.
