Stopped here on the way home from a Red Wing day trip and was seriously impressed! I ordered ahead on the app (super easy), and my drink was ready fast. Tried the caramel espresso shaker for the first time -- delicious! Treated myself to a new glass iced coffee cup too.....couldn't resist (it's cute). This is the nicest and biggest Caribou I've been to in MN -- two levels, cozy fireplace, and a bright, welcoming vibe. Spent about an hour and a half chatting with a friend. Definitely stopping again next time I'm in town!

Colleague from Europe sent me a gift certificate. Smart aleck, but a thoughtful one! :D

Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer Oh deer! Caribou and reindeer are basically the same thing? Who knew? But that doesn't mean you should only come to Caribou to catch Rudolph on a coffee break. Domesticated and wild customers alike should migrate to the 'bou, because the company "sleighs" making bucking good coffee! Of all the elkcellent coffee, teas, and smoothies that Caribou offers, the drink that I fawn over most is the Mint Condition Mocha. I love that you have the option to have it made with dark chocolate! Pair your drink with a selection from the all-day breakfast menu to start your day off right. Celebrate fall by grazing on a delicious pumpkin muffin! It's perfectly moist and stuffed with loads more sweet cream-cheese filling than Starbucks' version. With two levels, a fireplace and a conference room, there's no shortage of cozy spaces for studying...or reindeer games at this Caribou! The building itself is also unique and historic as it is housed in an old train station that was once a division headquarters for the Chicago Great Western Railway. Overall, I highly recommend this location for caffeine addicts, students, celebrated ungulates, and rail enthusiasts. Come alone or bring your whole herd! Oh, and my sympathies about grandma!

Very nice Caribou the staff is great! This one is in an old trail stop depot and has lots of room. Nice cold AC and fast wifi. I got a depth charge and they filled my water bottle with water for me. Discussed the tour de pepin and the server was very knowledgebale about the area. They have good coffee and snacks and it is very clean. A must stop on your way north to the cities or south to the lakes.

I come here a least 6 times a week! I LOVE it!!! I walk in and I am greeted. The staff are always wonderful. My coffee usually doesn't take any longer than 2 minutes at the longest on a normal day. It is a beautiful building inside and even has a second floor and a conference room for anyone who want to hold a meeting. To the other people who wrote reviews about it being slow, there are going to be busy times just like any other business. Caribou does their best to make everyone happy. The only time I ever had to wait really long was at nine in the morning when it can be super busy and since I waited do long I got a card for a free drink the next time I came. Well worth the wait in my opinion.

My cooler was handed to me melted... Is it still a cooler? Waste of money won't be back.

I bought a cooler and they handed it to me melted. What kind of quality check are they using ? Won't be back. How do you not see it's not completely melted and if you did what are you thinking when you hand that quality to a buying customer?.... Service was fast but if my drink comes out melted please try and take your time maybe to get it right or maybe give it to me while it's still blended ?...

    Yummy

My favorite place to stop for coffee. Love the drive thru so I don't have to take the kids out of the car. Very convenient location.

I ordered the French toast. It arrived barely warm, and after almost finishing the first slice... I found a hair. The other meal went like this: "I'll have the soup, salad, and bread." "What kind of soup?" we asked. "The soup of the day," the server replied. We looked at each other and thought, Okay... surprise soup. "So what are the bread choices?" (Thinking breadsticks, garlic toast, something...) "It's like toast." "Okay... wheat toast then." The meal arrived: Soup was cold and looked like Campbell's Chunky Soup. Salad was warm, consisting of iceberg lettuce and a quarter slice of tomato. Wheat toast was cold. Crackers were stale. Needless to say, neither of us finished our meals. I politely pointed out the hair to the server. Her response? "Oh... do you want me to have them make another one?" Ummm... no. Then came the bill: about $24. Nothing was taken off. No discount. No real apology until I mentioned paying full price for a meal with a hair in it. Then, to top it all off, they asked if we wanted a to-go box. For what,, the hair!! At that point, all we could do was laugh. It was honestly one of the most unbelievable dining experiences I've ever had.

Food tastes great! Only wish would be for the portion sizes to be a little bigger. The French toast was done perfectly and tasted great.

She immediately recommended that we try Scarlet Kitchen & Bar and get the pretzel. Scarlet is located in the historic St. James Hotel in beautiful downtown Red Wing. The restaurant is large and inviting, but it was a lovely night, so we opted to sit on their patio wherever had a view of the town. Our server was attentive and friendly. Of course, we ordered Amy's Famous Pretzel, and with beer cheese and garlic butter dipping sauces, it was absolutely delicious--more like a pretzel bread. I ordered the Mississippi Pot Roast Sandwich, and that hit the spot, too. A simple Panna Cotta with a berry sauce was a light, and tasty finish to our meal. If you want a great meal, in a beautiful restaurant with attentive service, give Scarlet Kitchen & Bar a try. It will not disappoint.

It was a little warm in the sun, but otherwise great outdoor weather and provided entertainment for the kids to look at the train when it went past. Our server was pretty quick to come get our drink order and we also puts the kids order and appetizer in right away. Our specialty cocktail and mocktail drinks came out pretty quick and all were quite refreshing. For the appetizer we got the Brussels sprouts with the horseradish mustard dressing and they were a hit. We even saved the dressing to use for the fries and sandwiches we ordered for the main. The kids burgers came out shortly after the appetizer which was useful to keep them entertained. It was pretty much an adult portion size and a well cooked burger. The only issue was that it took a while longer for the adult food to come out, so the kids were all done eating by the time we got our food. We got the Scarlett Salmon, Cubano, wild Mahi, Swedish stew, and pot roast sandwich. The salmon had a nice crust to it, but unfortunately for me, that also meant it was pretty salty. The couscous, watermelon radish, and chimichurri that accompanied were all very tasty though and the chimichurri did have a good kick of spice to it. The Cubano had good flavor and the horseradish mustard was a great accompaniment. The pot roast sandwich had decent flavor but was a little dry. The Mahi was the more successful fish entree and the Swedish stew also got great reviews. For dessert we couldn't make a decision, so we got the dessert trio which was a triple chocolate fudge cake, orange blossom and raspberry cake, and passion fruit panna cotta. The chocolate cake was a little dry for me, the raspberry cake was moist with a nice summer flavor, and the Panna cotta was the standout. A perfect light option to end the meal, and it came in a pretty cup. Overall they did have decent food and portion sizes were pretty good given their higher prices. The highlights are the beautiful outdoor patio and the friendliness of the servers.
