The entire staff was great. They got me in and out quickly, but still took the time to make sure that I understood everything.

First off, MAKE SURE THEY TAKE YOUR INSURANCE. I've been going there for over a year and they've had my insurance on file the entire time. I made an appointment for this week, and while I was scheduling they verified my insurance and everything was good. 2 days before my appointment, the insurance employee in the office called and verified my insurance. Never ONCE did she inform me that this office NO LONGER TAKES MY INSURANCE. I show up for my appointment and I'm informed I have to pay cash for my appointment. They had TWO different occasions to inform me of them dropping my insurance, and did not. Which makes me feel like all they wanted was my cash. The lady at check in was very unhelpful, and couldn't give me any type of estimate on how much my appointment would be....are you kidding?? My husband approached her twice trying to get an estimate, and she was clueless and gave us no answers. I ended up paying $300 for a 15 minute appointment which accomplished nothing, but I'll get to that later..while I was in the waiting room I watched them inform another woman who looked about 8 months pregnant, and an older lady, that they dropped their insurance as well. NONE OF US were informed before our appointment of this. After a lot of trouble and confusion up front, over an hour later I'm finally brought back for my appointment, which was a prenatal visit. The NP spent 5-10 trying to find a heartbeat and couldn't. She then informs me that "they'll get me in for an ultrasound soon"....SOON? Are you kidding me?? Like I'm going to go home and just chill while wondering if my baby is ok. I immediately asked why they couldn't get me in today, and she said she'd check. It was 4:00 at this point, and apparently the ultrasound tech went home early that day...you should NEVER have pregnant women coming in for appointments without an ultrasound tech. You can imagine the amount of stress & worry I was experiencing. So then I'm promised they'll order a stat ultrasound and get me in the next day. I walk up to schedule worried sick, and mention I need an ultrasound the next day. The lady at check out was quick to say "oh no, we can't do that. It'll be Tuesday or Wednesday before we can get you in.".....Are you joking??? They couldn't find my baby's heartbeat and I'm supposed to wait FIVE TO SIX DAYS before I can get answers??? I left and went to the emergency room and thank God everything was fine, but if it wouldn't have, they should be held liable for that. Overall, what should've been a beautiful day for my husband and I, was a terrible experience from the moment I walked in. No one had sympathy, no one seemed to care at all. I highly recommend going anywhere else. What a waist of time, worry & a trip to the ER. I could've gone somewhere else that actually checked on my baby and saved myself a ton of emotional stress that was unnecessary. read more

Customer care and service have gone downhill. They don't return phone calls or messages to me or my pharmacist. They let my prescription lapse without acknowledging the efforts to try to get an appointment or to get it filled. They have lost a long time patient due to their lack of communication. I still can't grasp where the "caring" in "Caring For Women" comes with this office. Like many other reviewers, I cannot get ahold of the doctor to discuss my lab results. Having painful symptoms, receiving non-conclusive test results that I cannot discuss with the person who saw me, and I'm being told by some random doctor I have never met that I have yeast. After finishing those antibiotics.. I am still here, with my painful symptoms. Oh, and now they are sending me a bill for $495 for a urine sample and a swab test. Like others, I was referred by my PCP. I did not come here by choice, and will be seeing someone else. I will definitely let my PCP know about the experience I, as well as others, seem to have experienced with this office. Hopefully to save at least one woman the trouble. read more

Dr. Caren Reaves is an absolutely incredible doctor. I had some major complications after surgery (not her fault at all) and quite honestly, she saved my life. Today I'm even better than new. I would recommend her to ANYONE, she's fantastic. read more

An update to my previous review. After posting about the poor experience with my baby's anatomy scan at CFW, I was contacted by the administrator Doug Lutz. He was very apologetic and conciliatory. He offered to correct the situation by scheduling a makeup ultrasound with Caitlyn at the office in Flower Mound. I was promptly scheduled for that and she did a fabulous job. She was very thorough, unlike my prior experience with Edie at the Denton office. We were able to see the baby's face and part of his heart outflows that Edie did little to attempt to see. Unfortunately, because it took so long for CFW to correct the situation we were unable to get the best scans because the baby was now much bigger than the optimal size for this ultrasound. Still, I am very happy that CFW corrected the situation and extended an apology to me. It is likely that I would return to this practice as I have had wonderful prior experiences with them. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. They REFUSED care. I wanted to schedule a pregnancy appointment for my 10 weeks. They told me I had to get a sonogram. I told them I will have one sonogram at 20 weeks which is my personal preference. They refused to make the appointment. I am so disappointed as I was really looking forward to working with one of the certified nurse midwives. If you are looking for a open minded, holistic office, where you feel empowered as a woman to make informed medical decisions ... this is not it. No one should ever be forced to submit to a medical procedure that is against their believes and better judgement. My body is my own, and for that reason I was forced to leave this review. Pregnancy can be confirmed by blood or urine... elective sonograms are dangerous and should NEVER be mandatory in a healthy pregnancy with no high risk factors. read more

I am leaving this review due to having such a disturbing experience that I had to make it known.I went for my first well Women's visit with Dr.Valenti a while back and the scheduling and billing were seamless and I have no issues or complaints with that.My main and most concerning/disturbing issues were with Dr Valenti and the office staff that were working the day of my appointment,Dr Valenti was incredibly cold and lacked any sort of Professionalism he spoke VERY loudly about my personal medical information in a moderately packed office without a second thought for my comfort.If any information regarding prescriptions, billing etc were needed it should have been done in a respectable,confidential manner.That was my first visit for any gynecological services in my life and I was incredibly nervous and he and the nurse/aid that was assisting him were too busy talking,laughing and carrying on to care about confidentiality or professionalism or bed side manner.Under no circumstances should the lack of customer service/ lack of respect be allowed.This was one of the worst visit Doctor visits I have ever had and I am mortified that I even have to write this review as I don't normally do so,but this was a horrible experience that I hope is never repeated I hope that your patients are treated with respect and Confidentiality under every circumstance as that is part of the job description.All in all very disappointing I hope and pray that this is corrected and never replicated. read more

If it's your first time calling the place to make an appointment, a warning:: Jocelyn is very rude! I complained about her and I'm sure I wasn't the first since she hasn't picked up any of the calls since I've complained. Hopefully they let her go... I usually don't have ill opinions of others but if your job includes customer service, I hope you try to sound pleasant and willing to be at work no matter what is going on in your personal life... That being said... I went to the Frisco office and it was very difficult to find! Good thing I went over there 20minutes before my appointment time since I was lost during that time and finally arrived right on my appointment time. I haven't gone to get my pap for over three years and finally decided I would. I decided to try out meeting Dr. Valenti first and he was awesome. I've always had a woman OBGYN Doctor and felt unsure of a male Dr. But he was friendly, listened to every word I said, and made no judgements. My daughter is usually shy with strangers but she ended up warming up to Dr. Valenti in 10 minutes. I made my pap appointment before I left the office and although I am still apprehensive of a male Dr. I think I'll be ok. read more

Caring for Women is a fitting name for this practice. From the time I walked in the door on my first visit, I have experienced friendly and thoughtful care from the entire team. The front office staff were helpful when I had questions about the scheduling and process with the office. The billing team worked with me to pay the co-pay for my surgery. The gentleman who is the surgery scheduler provided thorough instructions and worked with me on scheduling the pre-op, surgery, and post-op according to what would work for my family. Dr. Reaves was professional, friendly, gentle, informative, and helpful. I went to Dr. Reaves for a specific problem. She asked a lot of questions and educated me on my options for care. Turned out I needed two entirely different treatment plans to address my issues...medication and surgery. In the few months since first seeing Dr. Reaves and beginning the medication she prescribed part of my issue went from a level 8-9 to a 1-2!! My surgery took place a week ago and already I have experienced significant improvement. I greatly appreciate the expertise and skill that Dr. Reaves has performed and look forward to my future visits and care. read more

I have been going to Dr.Finger since 2012. Everyone I have encountered has been amazing. Dr. Finger is the best OBGYN! 2 pregnancies with her, and she always made me feel like she was really listening. Some doctors are one foot out the door while you ask questions, while she would sit and discuss. Love this office! read more

I have been seeing Dr Amy Lungren for 5 years now. She's been my OB for 2 babies. I love her as a provider. Unfortunately, since she joined this practice and her office has developed the processes, she's become too busy to get appointments with or even get a refill for a prescription. I reluctantly scheduled with another provider. I filled out all of my paperwork online as requested, arrived 10 min early for my appointment as requested, and had a seat in the waiting room. After waiting for 40 minutes and watching every other patient be called back, I asked at the front desk when I would be called back. I was informed that the provider went to the hospital and they didn't know when she'd return and they were under the assumption I had already been called back. I could go sit and wait for the provider to return or reschedule me. Yea, no thanks. When I asked for a copy of my medical records I was told I would need to pay $25 or have them faxed to my new provider. read more

I've been coming to the Denton location for YEARS. There was a mix up with my last apt, and they had me down for the wrong day. The fit me in immediately and got me taken care of before I left for a vacation. Horrible experience with this office and staff! If it offered no stars, that's what I would have given. During my first sonogram the tech couldnt find a heart beat...they never called the doctor in to verify...they took me to a room and said i should take a pill to make my baby come out or do a DNC and wrote me a prescription for pain I wasnt feeling. Dr Osborn never tried to see what may have caused my missed miss-carriage only kept saying it happens. She called me later that week and said my numbers were going in the "right direction"! Really, I wasn't aware that telling a grieving mother that her baby was dead was at all in the "right direction." My husband and I could not believe her attitude and lack of sympathy... she even got into a yelling match with my husband over her lack of empathy and over clinical care. I switched to a new doctor who did extensive testing, found out there was a reason we lost the baby due to a gene mutation i carry...they put me on different vitamins and super supplements to counteract...Had we stayed with Dr Osborne who knows how many babies I could have lost due to her lack of interest in finding out what may have happened or was causing my miscarriage... DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

If I could I would give 0 stars. Got an IUD about a year ago, and just recently got a 1000 dollar bill in the mail for labs. The outsource theirs labs to Florida, which inflates the lab prices. Awful customer service. The front desk ladies will make you feel like a crazy person and that nothing is wrong with you. I was literally bleeding so heavily that I was going through 1 tampon and 1 overnight pad within an hour, but that didn't seem like an issue to them and there was no sense of urgency. I ended up having to go to the ER. Kate, however, is AMAZING. She was the only good part about my visits to this place. Would I go back? No. The only reason I went in the first place is because my normal gyno could not get me in. The only way I'd go back is if they got rid of all of the front desk staff and replaced them with people who actually care. read more

This place does not care about women at all. What they care about is money. I have felt that way for my last three appointments, but I just kind of deal with it because I have so far had no problem paying them everything they have asked me for, even though the office staff acts more like bill collectors than medical office personnel. I have never complained, even when I felt they were charging too much. Now I find myself writing my first Yelp review ever in the hopes that what happened to me will not traumatize another woman. Today was when my suspicions were confirmed that they do not care about patients at all, not even a little bit. I had the worst medical office experience of my entire life, which is saying a lot considering I have spent thousands of dollars fighting cancer and have seen oncologists, pulmonologists, cardiologists, and countless hospital physicians, labs, hospitals, etc. over the last 14 years. My latest problem is that my huge fibroid is not going away, and I need a hysterectomy. This is not an easy thing for a woman to go through, even a woman who has pretty much accepted that her body is falling apart at a young age. To make matters worse, I am moving 2000 miles away in four days. I am so comfortable with Dr. Finger that I had planned at my appointment today to schedule my hysterectomy where I would fly back to Denton to have it done. I don't want to go through a hysterectomy with a different doctor, and I am willing to buy a plane ticket on top of whatever crazy amount they charge me, because it was that important to me to have it done by Caring for Women. However, because I walked out of my house without my billfold, I am going to have to find a new doctor in a city I know nothing about and ask them to cut my uterus out of me. I have to give them a little credit for trying, however unreasonable their suggestion was. They did offer to let me go home and get my credit card, but the time frame they gave me was not enough time to get all the way to my house and back, reschedule my meetings to make it work, or anything else. I have really liked all of the medical staff I have dealt with at this practice, but I wish they would all leave Caring for Women and open up a practice that actually does care about women. I understand that they have to pay the bills, but it isn't like I have ever been a patient they had bill-paying problems with. read more

I've had great experiences with Caring For Women in Denton. Both the nurse practitioner and the doctor have taken extra time to explain things to me and ask if I had any questions. They have been very kind and thorough in helping me resolve the issues I'm having. The sonographer was also very kind and personable, and obviously knows what she is doing. I highly recommend this practice! I've never spent more than a few minutes in the waiting room (I always arrive early) and found it easy to get a hold of them (I've only called during business hours, of course). All staff has been very personable , and things seem to be run very well in the office. read more

I moved from California so i was looking for a new gynecology, i am so happy i found this place, the staff is amazing sweet etc.

I love my OB DR at Caring for Women but I am fed up with the office staff. They NEVER answer the phone and NEVER call you back if you leave a message (I have tried to call up there of a WEEK now and have not received a call back...). The only reason I have gone back the last 3 years is because the DRs and midwives are amazing. So as long as you never need to make an appointment, have a billing question or any questions I'd recommend CFW. read more

Having been a patient in the since 2015, I am not a new patient. The schedule staffing did not alert me to the need to complete 9 pages of documents prior to my visit, as if I were a new patient. I am so turned off to this office staff and am hunting for a new physician. The front desk person continually passed blame to the scheduling staff and the physician for the paperwork snafu. I have a broken hand and cannot write quickly, or clearly, at this time. I WOULD have completed forms on the computer if I had been told of this need. read more

I just started going to this office and have had nothing but problems. I had my well woman but they want me to go back and pay a co pay for blood pressure check . I have never had issues with my blood pressure. Also everytime I make an appointment they tell me one thing and then it's something different. I showed up for the time they told me to check my blood pressure knowing I cannot take off work very often and they told me it needed to be a set appointment and than the girl at the front desk getting an attitude she tells me I will have to pay a co payment which i dont have a co pay for well visits. If I could give zero stars I would. It takes a lot for me to publicly write a negative review, but I want to help warn others. I have gone here for 12 years. I went last year for my yearly appointment and was told to do bloodwork on site. I haven't done that before but they said they require different things depending on age now. I was given no other information and signed no additional document. I then find out they billed my insurance out of network $13,000 for basic blood work. I called to explain the mistake because it was filed wrong (it was in network facility) and they said oh no the bloodwork is out of network but don't worry you won't have to pay. Excuse me!? I am in the medical field and work with insurance a lot. This is not okay!! I didn't sign a consent. Then almost a year later just received a bill. This also happened to a few of my friends. Got my records sent to another doctor and will never go back. Now the pain begins of dealing with this bill. I hope this helps inform others of how their service is so you don't have to deal with the headache I am dealing with. read more

Funny name...they are barely polite, from the front desk personnel to the other staff. Can't say enough about the mammography team, but most others are quite rude. Doctor Valenti is pompus, Dr. Popoff will straight up lie to you and not tell you all your options, only the most expensive (and invasive). They lose tests and it is very hard to get anyone on the phone UNLESS it's one of their calls they make before your appointment to tell you how much it will be. If you have been a patient before, you know the office visit cost, and know you can afford it and it gets REAL old. They talk to you like you are broke and unable to pay even if you have insurance. They ignore birth plans, and my midwife left in the middle of my delivery, not that she was very good. She pushed for all the things I didn't want and was not what I had wanted, did not advocate for me. Do not expect any caring from this place, they only care about themselves. read more

I used to love going to my OB before it became caring for women. Dr. Lunges and Osborn are amazing! However after I had my baby and I called to make regular appointment they sent me to a different place. The lady I spoke with on the phone didn't even tell me it was a different location. I went to the regular OB office only to find out my appointment was not made there. I explained I called the number I've always called. Apparently now it routes to a main line and the appointment schedulers don't even tell patients where to go and just send them to whomever is available. They also do not update the information across their system. I received emails and calls for 6 months telling me I was overdue for my visit. Even though I had gone previously. Called informed them only to find out they forgot to update their system. Since caring for women took over it went down hill. I didn't even get to see my regular OB. And the doctor that came in and saw me was rude, cold and just awful. After that experience I never went back. I feel like they are all about the money and not at all about the care. read more

Patient abandonment by Valenti. Delivered our son and quit the hospital the following day. Expected my wife to be all ok, but she ended up spending 16 days in the hospital with complications. He never returned. Only sent associates who didn't know my wife at all. He was too prideful in his stance against the hospital that he left his only patient there alone. I was here yesterday to see dr Valenti about a few important issues to me. It was seriously the best medical experience I have ever had. I was going to an Obgyn in Lewisville that when it should have been her job to help me she was going to send me to a cancer dr. Which is not even what I have!!!! I recommend this place!! Period. Shirley Marion is my OB.. I would recommend her to anyone.. She is very nice and positive and very informative.. Every time I see her she's always smiling so that makes me feel good right from the start.. I've never been over charged or anything.. And I called up there for a question the other day and they were very quick to call me back with an answer.. I'm going through my first pregnancy and I feel like I can really trust her with everything.. It's so refreshing to have a sweet doctor that you can tell really cares about her patients.. This review is for the Flower Mound location. My wife had an IUD implanted here and was having a lot of negative effects as a result. She wanted to have it taken out immediately. The office kept scheduling appointments with the mid wife and charging our copay of $40 for her to come in, say it looks fine, and send her on her way. The point that really set us off was when she was scheduled for a Monday appointment to finally have it removed. She was so excited to finally fix this problem causing all this stress. Unfortunately, the office called the Friday before saying they would move her to see a midwife (who can't take it out). Of course, my wife was upset and called the office to let them know she can't deal with the side effects anymore and wants it out. The receptionist said she would have to wait another two weeks to see the doctor, and then started laughing at my wife on the phone when she expressed how ridiculous that is and asked to speak to a supervisor. Refused to transfer her to anyone else. The rudest person and totally insensitive. My wife was able to get in at another provider the same Monday she was originally scheduled for and is doing great now. read more

I can totally agree that Amy Perilman is absolutely great! Not only is she caring and attentive, she is knowledgeable yet down to earth. I do have to say that I don't especially care for the service I have received in regards to appointments by phone and needing to contact a nurse or doctor during office hours. It is absolutely absurd the hassle you must go through just trying to speak to a nurse or anyone for that matter that has any medical expertise. It is very difficult to have a patient/doctor relationship within this office due to the fact that you cannot just pick up the phone and speak directly to your doctor or nurse practitioner. I don't especially like the feeling that they may or may not receive your message before the days end and I don't feel comfortable that if there is a problem that needs immediate attention that it won't be attended to until it's too late. read more

Kathy Ellis is an AMAZING midwife and OBGYN. She took her time with me and was FANTASTIC during the labor of my daughter. She is also wonderful for all women's health needs and she listens to you and trusts that we know our bodies, and when something is off balance. I highly recommend her. Recently before i moved I did have issues with getting through the CFW office phones to get an appointment as I think they are trying to push online portals now. read more

I had a well-woman visit. And wanted other testing which they said was not included in my well-woman visit and it is now an "office visit" and I had to pay a copay. Fine. The nurse practitioner then said I needed to get an ultrasound as my uterus "felt enlarged". The Frisco office does not do them so they said they would send me to another, non-affliated location in Frisco or their Denton office. The nurse practitioner Alex, suggested I go to their Denton office since there would not be a co-pay as it was technically still a part of this office visit, and the other, non-affliate would charge me. It was farther, but would save me money. Her words, VERBATIM. So I schedule the appointment for the Denton office for just the ultrasound. The Denton office calls me the day prior and tells me that there will be a $200+ copay and that it's considered a new office visit. I told them to get the Frisco office on the phone. The entire office, including the practitioner that I saw LIED and said they NEVER said this. IJust a way to squeeze more money out of people. I will be finding a new office. read more

Today, I had what I thought was my first "okay" gynecologist experience. Until it ended, and I was completely blind sided by an unexpected charge. Let me back up for a moment and say that I am not good about making it to my yearly appointment. I dread it, and over time it has become a bit of fear. Well, I finally made the appointment at Caring for Women. When I arrived for my appointment, the office ladies were less than friendly, but I tried not to let that bother me. I asked if there would be a co-pay and I was told no. It was quickly followed by "but you better be ready to provide a urine sample". When I told her that I didn't think I needed to go, she told me that I better head to the drinking fountain. I filled out the necessary paperwork, waited patiently, and made the occasional trip the water fountain. They finally called me back 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Not a big problem, but I was surprised considering the waiting room was nearly empty. The appointment was with Dr. Reaves, and once the appointment began I immediately felt at ease. I told her that I was interested in going back on birth control and was able to tell her which type I wanted by name. I thought that would be the end of the discussion. She proceeded to share a great wealth of information about birth control - types, proper usage, side effects, and which methods she felt worked best for her other patients. I smiled and nodded through the explanation. I felt a little like I was in the middle of a birth control commercial. When she was finished, she completed the exam and then said she would be back after I dressed to share MORE unsolicited information about birth control. I did, however, ask her during the appointment about the HPV document that was posted on a nearby cabinet. It stated that anyone over 30 years of age would receive the test as part of their yearly. I wanted to make sure I would not be charged and she assured me that it was part of the "routine" and no I would not be charged out of pocket. I felt sheepish asking, but money has been tight for my family and I did not want to take on an unnecessary additional fee. When I finally made it up the front desk to turn in the piece of paper, I felt relieved that it was over. Despite the unusual amount of chatting, she was gentle and the experience really hadn't been too bad overall. When I turned my paper over to the receptionist, she said that will be $30. I thought they had made a mistake. Apparently, while a well womans appointment does not warrant a co-pay, if you have ANY discussion whatsoever, you WILL BE CHARGED a co-pay. To be honest, I felt like I was pulled through a conversation that she dominated in order for her to make extra money. Was it not enough that my insurance paid for the visit? Why did this gynecologist need two pay checks for my visit? When I asked the receptionist to please inquire she came back and said the unexpected co-pay was for the birth control consultation. I was shocked. I did not ask for a birth control consultation - I was forced to listen to a birth control commercial. While Dr. Reaves was gentle and kind during the visit, I am left to wonder what kind of office charges essentially twice for one visit? She did not come out to explain or address what happened. In conclusion, be prepared to interrupt and stop the unsolicited advice and product pitching at Caring for Women, or be prepared to shell out a co-pay (even when the front desk states otherwise). I understand that sometimes an additional fee may be necessary. Especially if an appointment addresses something entirely different than what you scheduled an appointment for. However, I did not feel this was one of those situations. I feel I was railroaded into listening to information for the sake of this office making more money. Now, I am back to square one dreading the gynecologist all over again. I hope that by sharing my experience, I can prevent this from happening to other women. Isn't going to the gynecologist stressful enough without having to worry about the office nickel and diming you? I will be seeking care elsewhere. read more

First of all, they messed up on my appointment and scheduled me with the Denton location. However, they did work me in with the NP at the Frisco location which included additional wait time. Prior to the appointment I received a call regarding the cost of my procedure which was $205. A month later I received a bill for the labs for an additional $100 and then another bill from Caring for Women in the amount of $105. This was and is absurd. I understand additional cost can be incurred. However, the staff failed to notify me of the additional cost AT THE TIME OF SERVICE. Why didn't they collect for the "consult" at the time of service when I checked out. In addition, they billed my insurance for the following items: Handling specimen $15, Imaging Study not ordered $10, Antibiotic neither prescribed nor dispensed $10, Influenza immunization recommend $10. This is completely ridiculous! Also, the consult lowest billable level is $250.00. WOW! I work in the medical field for specialists. The billable amount is extreme for a 10 min prep about the procedure. I would not recommend this clinic. The billing company is an outside vendor that does not return calls or emails. It took several attempts before I finally had to send a patient portal encounter to the physician for anyone to return my call. I have notified my PCP's office as well of the poor service and excessive over billing as well as my insurance. read more
