Just had a A/C system/ heat pump installed from Carini yesterday, they seemed pretty efficient at their job, pretty nice guys, they work good together, they pretty much explained (when asked) everything as they went along, everything is cleaned up and looks as it did before they showed up, they found a problem in my new subpanel install that another company did which they straightened out which was good, I really have not had a chance to test the system out since it just got installed yesterday That's the reason for only four stars I will bump it up after I test and get confirmation everything works good. I had a new heat pump and air handler installed by Carini. My installation was a tricky one as I made some very specific requests on how to mount the equipment and where to run the refrigerant lines. Kevin did well at conveying these requests from our initial walk through to the installation team and he was there to support me throughout the project. The installation took a full day to do the install and was rushed near the end. Their employees worked hard but some corners were cut to try to get the job wrapped up in one day. I called them the next day and asked that a few items be fixed/finished before I submit payment. Santiago ended up coming over and spent some time making things right. He was able to put some of the finishing touches on the install and ensure that it was all good. I really appreciated their timely follow up. Their leadership kept their word and made sure I was satisfied, even though there was a little hiccup in the middle. I look forward to my continued business with them. read more

Carini installed a Mitsubishi Mini-Split System 4 years ago - and have now refused to service the system - leaving the home without heating/AC during the hottest week of the year. The unit is still under warranty - appears the Service Team can decline to service the system they installed. I scheduled an appointment for an AC tune-up a month ago and they just called me 3 days before the appointment saying that they didn't have a technician available to do it and had to bump me back another month. I had to reschedule important work and family obligations to stay home ALL day because they wouldn't give me a time-frame for the appointment (a window of time), and I coordinated with the HOA, manager, and maintenance guy on-site. So obnoxious- I am never doing business with them ever again. Unprofessional and RUDE! Edit 7/8/25: I ended up using West Coast Heating &Air and got them out in 3 days with a $39 special, great price, great service and communications, and pictures of the equipment on the roof to boot. As I have since first hiring Carini several years ago, I paid for a 1 year maintenance agreement last December covering my AC and furnace. I tried for months to get AC maintenance done this Spring. They made appointments 3 times and cancelled each one the night before or morning of each appointment. They never called to schedule again. I wrote a letter asking for my money to be refunded and they couldn't even reply to that. A few of my neighbors have had the same problems this year. They have always had problems about appointment cancellations but usually they would finally show up. Their work was excellent and the men that came out were respectful of property etc . Sadly I do not think many of them are still with Carini and lack of personnel probably reason for no shows on appointment days. I'm going to try one more time to get my funds returned and in the mean time hiring another company. read more

Reached out to Carini because they were 1 of 2 verified providers through The Switch Is On for the Tech Clean CA incentives. I found their pricing to be 3x of another verified provider for installing a heat pump water heater. 5x the cost of replacing like for like. Both performed a site visit and the quote was only for the water heater (no electrical). Carini charged for the visit while the other did not. Carini, please consider reevaluating your pricing as mentioned in my email. These incentives are to encourage electrification to reduce GHG emissions. In my case, the water heater was 10ft from the electrical panel and located outdoors with no access issues. I gave an additional star because I found their admin team to be responsive. read more

You recommended for A/C . As per the services A/C work was good but I was overcharged .$476.00 a capacitor was replaced which cost $80 i was overcharged for Parts & labor for $476. 00 .i asked other companies & parts & labor was around $175-200. I am okay with $276 parts & labor 1-1/2 hrs . Therefore I would like a refund check of $200.00 to me. I appreciate if you could kindly look into this and kindly do the needful . I do need my water heater to be serviced but will wait till I am refunded Also My neighbor was interested in your A:C services but will forward your reference only when you settle this my account . I am bummed that I have to post this review. I originally reviewed them back in 2015 when we hired Carini to install our new Fujitsu mini split air conditioning for a home that we had just purchased at the time. Our original experience was superb and at that time, we would have recommended them. As a matter of fact, I recommended them to several of my friends, and a few of them actually used Carini to install mini splits in their home. Fast forward to 2022. We are having issues with our 7 year unit. It is no longer keeping up with the heat and can only cool 1 room at a time. I found my invoice from Carini and it showed a 12 year warranty. So I left Carini an email through their website. The following day, i get a call from Carini and I described the issue I was having. The rep took my information and just as we were getting ready to schedule the service, I advised her that my unit is a Fujitsu. And very quickly, she said" I'm sorry to say, but we no longer service Fujitsu and you will need to call someone else". Really??? You guys installed my system! Wow!!. I am totally dumbfounded that they are refusing to service an air conditioning unit that they installed. I hired Carini because they were (at the time) a family owned business. I am telling all my friends and family to stay away from Carini. To tell an old customer to find someone else because they don't stand behind their work. As a reply to the owner of Carini Heating and air. I did not need any parts to my Air conditioning unit. All I needed was a refrigerant refill and dye insertion to detect a leak if there was any. It turns out that there was no leak and my unit is now working perfectly. The problem was either an installation issue where refrigerant had leaked out of the loose connections. This could have been performed by Carini but they refused. Bottom line is this, if you install a unit which costs over $10k, and you offer a 12 year warranty for the unit you installed 6.5 years ago, as a reputable business owner, you should stand by your work and at the very least, diagnose the issue your customer is having and if you cannot provide service due to a warranted part that you can no longer obtain, then you should refer your customer to another provider who CAN order that part. If I were a new customer, I would not hire Carini to install a new unit to my home. And since I am an existing customer, if I were the business owner, I would want to take care of this customer (me) to the best of my ability so that I could have a repeat customer should I need a new AC in the future. That is what a reputable business should do. Take care of new, old, existing customers. I hope future customers read this and see my point. read more

What a scam this company!! A plumber came for 20 mns, literally twisted a wrench removed a tiny pipe connection. Pulled a replacement, wrapped it in plumbers tape on both sides and tightened it with the wrench and charged $425!!! Something any lay person could do! Unbelievable! And on top of it he couldn't figure out how to loosen the descaler to replace it and said to call the original company! I don't recommend them period. read more

Was originally quoted a $69 service visit that would be applied to any work done on our panel service. After objecting to the fee, I was told it would be done gratis. Javier came out with his assistant and were very helpful. The price was quoted at $950 to $1100. After going back to the van to get live pricing and about 20 minutes the total came to $1250. This was $500 to $550 more than everyone else's other quotes. After asking for a labor breakdown for the 2.5 hour job, and the price breakdown for the breakers I was told it was a set price for the entire job so if it took longer it wouldn't be charged more. However for a job quoted for 2.5 hours of labor and $450 in breakers, it turned out their labor rate was about $400 an hour which is more than the going rate per yelp at $80 to $180 an hour. Super responsive super professional but labor rate is high when quoting a project for breaker replacement and bussing cleanup. Then to merely mount a socket splitter on a wall it was going to be $175 for this 20 minute job. If you can afford it go with them for electrical jobs, but you will be paying above market labor rates. Manager was informed but they are so busy they never got back to me so I hired another vendor did the entire two jobs for $711 which would've cost me $1425 at Carini almost double. read more

In preparation for a replacement dishwasher I needed to have the hot water Angle stop valve replaced. I contacted Carini at 6:50 pm. Miguel responded quickly and after discussing the situation and cost was at my house within 20 minutes. I requested the cold water Angle stop be replaced as well since the water was already shut off. What I didn't realize was the price Miguel had given me was per valve. $414.26 x 2! Miguel did an excellent job and had both valves replaced in under 1.5 hours. My total with the $99 after hours diagnostic fee was $927.52. After requesting several ball park quotes from several other highly rated local Yelp plumbers I found this price to be over double the going rate. Some said they could do the job for under $300. I called Carini concerned that I possibly was over build but was told, the price was correct. read more

Carini came gave us a quote and I said we would not be moving forward with their services. They insist they can beat our other licensed and insured contractors price and give me a new offer. After they continued to push for the contract, I finally agreed, signed the contract and then they wouldn't honor it! There need to be better checks and balances here. Then, they sent another guy out to look at the system to try to access the cost and he never got back with us! The customer service and communication was horrible when it came down to the actual contract and what we were offered. A pushy sales person does you no good when you don't check on them on what they were offering. This wasted so much of our time. Overpriced quote for replacing 6 valves and installing a new faucet. $1260. No detailed breakdown of parts and services, just a "flat rate" which apparently is the way plumbing services run now, like a used car lot. This was his opening bid which immediately discounted to $980. I am a senior in a mobile home park. Clearly, the tactic and approach is to see how stupid you are. Obviously this quote was laughable. When I contacted the office to see what could be done to reduce the price she asked" "What would you like to pay?" "I'll check with my manager." Again, is this a used car lo? This was so laughable you have to wonder if you are in an SNL sketch. The bottom line is I cannot recommend this company unless you want to film a comedy sketch. Just ridiculous.
