This was my first visit to Carleen's and I will certainly be back! The food was delicious - I ordered a chocolate chip pancake, white toast and homemade corned beef hash. The food came out incredibly fast and the service was 10/10! The ambiance was great as well - I sat at the bar which has about 5 very comfortable seats. There are plenty of tables throughout the restaurant and it is not crammed whatsoever. The CC pancake was perfectly fluffy and absolutely delicious. They leave out syrup so you have full control over the amount to put on your pancake. The homemade corned beef hash was so good - there were chunks of corned beef and potatoes which my Irish self absolutely loved. The crisp on the top was delicious and a must-have on any homemade hash! I don't remember the exact breakdown but the homemade corned beef hash was $5.99 and the total for all three dishes + coffee was $17 and change, so nothing crazy. The food and service made this worth every penny!

Classic Carleen's breakfast, complete with baked beans.

STILL the best breakfast in Lawrence! I haven't been here in many years and I'm so happy I came to eat on this trip to visit my childhood town. The restaurant may have been changed and been remodeled, but the food is still on point! I had my favorite, hash & eggs. It was delicious and so nostalgic. We had amazing service from my old high school friend Michaeleen and took some great pictures. This was a wonderful experience I will not forget.

Food and service great! They leave the door open and we complained about the flys coming in. Flys liked our food choice.

Just so many good choices! And then at the same time, they serve fried chicken and chicken sandwiches. And the prices are very reasonable. I got two sauces with my bowl and didn't end up using either because everything had so much good flavor (yep, brought those home). My sister and I showed up at lunch and got easy parking just on the other side of the street. We ordered at the counter and as it was our first time had a number of questions. The staff was super helpful and my food came out much quicker than I expected. They have lots of coffee and other specialty drinks but there's also water available in the counter area where you also get your silverware and napkins, a perfect arrangement for us heavy water drinkers The decor is funky and fun and definitely heavy on a chicken theme. I try out a lot of good places but this is at the top of my list of restaurants I need to return to soon. We visited Ellie's for breakfast recently after a recommendation. Sad to report it was not good…read more We were immediately served some apple slices dusted in cinnamon sugar. Nice unexpected start. My wife and I both ordered Eggs Benedicts, my wife with ham, mine with their own corned beef hash. This is where things took a downward swing. First, both dishes came out without Hollandaise sauce. We pointed this out to our server who apologized and immediately took both back. When they came back out the Holladaise looked broken. We decided to accept them as opposed to sending them back again, and the taste was off, with a slight sour hint. I mentioned this to the owner/chef who checked on us and he was surprised and told us he would check the sauce. We never saw or heard from him again. The corned beef hash was shredded corned beef mixed with hash brown potatoes, with the potatoes dominating. It lacked flavor. One of my eggs was over cooked, with a hard yolk. The accompanying homefries were nice, maybe the highlight of the meal. On the plus side, our server, who told us up front she was new, was very good. We may give it another try as maybe it was just a bad day in the kitchen.

Ya know, I once navigated to this place on accident before? Yeah. Still not sure what my GPS was…read moredoing that day. Because I normally go to the one in Salem. But on this day, I thought to myself, "Self, I really hate making that busy-as-hell left turn on South Broadway in Salem. What if we took a journey to the Andover location instead?" And so it was. I enter this cozy little restaurant carefully tucked against a slightly submerged parking garage. Although, I probably shouldn't say "little" because the interior was noticeably larger than its Salem counterpart. It's also noisy AF in there when it gets busier than a New York subway. So naturally, I ordered my usual to-go (a Country Classic with an extra egg and hashbrowns for those who don't know). Only it wasn't *quite* ready on time. Which, to be fair, is kind of a minor point. Thing is, they have to shout your name whenever your order is finally ready. This in and of itself can prove to be quite the challenge when bellowing atop the already roaring crowd of customers impeding the otherwise accessible pickup shelves. I'll do my best to describe the interior since I wasn't really able to take pictures. But try to imagine an L-shaped dining area with the longest part hosting a row of countertop seats facing the windows. Beyond that sits a rather modest dining area with a few more tables. Next to that sits the gender neutral restrooms. It's strange and cramp, particularly when the place is packed tighter than a sardine can. Sufficed to say, I'm not much a fan of the interior design here. Being the partial recluse that I am, I offer the following best practice for a place so riotous: mobile order that shiz, cuh! Seriously. I had to put in my noise cancelling earbuds to appease my misophonia. The good news is....the food is still awesome. The eggs? Creamier than crème fraîche. Taters? Eh, I don't why...but these seemed way more seasoned the very first time I tried them. Fortunately, they actually pair rather well with their refined version of ketchup. The bacon? Well...let's just say I wish it were served well done. Not sure if I'm able to request that. But I'll scope out my options next time and get back to you all. That's it though. Nice place, WAY easier to get to than its Salem counterpart, but a bit too cramp and noisy for my taste which means....I'll likely ever dine in here. It's all good though, because I'm still giving Crack'd Kitchen & Coffee in Andover 4 Country Classics with all the fixins out of 5.

The menu is classic but with a few twists. Definitely count on some nice looking specials not on the menu, too. There is parking right out front but we grabbed a space on the other side of the street. If you do that not that there seem to be both one and two hour spaces so be sure to pick the right one. Service is fast and super friendly and helpful. You can pay with cash or Venmo or Cash App and they have ATM atm inside if you need it. Seating is mostly booths and comfortable and well maintained.
