This was always my favorite place to eat on campus! The food was always good and not too expensive.

It's the Mexican option on campus. That's really all you need to know because the food ranges from average to typical with a little dash of meh. When you want Meh-xican-style food on the main campus of Washington State University, well, then, it's Carlita's or nada ... cause Carlita's is the uno and only Mexican option at the CUB (Compton Union Building). I tried a Beef Barbacoa Burrito built to order. The style is Chipotle-esque with all the vibe and flavors of a Mall Food Court. Again, it's a spot with limited options, so, it's probably not fair to ding them too hard for being blah. The staff behind the counter may or may not of been WSU students, but they were friendly and professional ... so, plus one star for them. Otherwise, choose Carlita's at WSU for one reason and one reason only ... it's the Mexican option on campus. read more

This year, Carlita's has made some improvements. They started having two different lines, one of which is an express line where you can order from a smaller menu and get your food faster. I no longer see the extra items they added to the menu last year (such as potatoes and bagels) and they seemed to have trimmed down their menu in general. This makes for much faster service. Also, they make items like tacos and taco salads in front of you from pre-prepared ingredients now, so you can tell them exactly what you want on your food. This reduces the number of mistakes in orders, since your order doesn't have to be interpreted from a receipt anymore. However, some items, like the taco salad shells, taste less fresh than they used to. Some of the items that they removed from their menu were ones that I liked. They are still missing the good coffee they used to have. So it's better, but not up to what it used to be in the 2009-2010 school year. read more

Hit or a miss with the amount of food you get depending on the time you go and whoever makes your food. Sometimes I'll get a decent amount of food which is alright for the price. But other days, they'll be super stingy and give me super little which makes me never want to go back again. I usually order either a taco salad or nachos. I really love getting the nachos here because nachos are my go to. But lately I've been out of luck or something, and will get the tiniest amount of food. If I'm paying like $5-6, I think I deserve a little bit more meat the amount I get. It's like mainly cheese and chips honestly, which I could get if I just ordered nachos with cheese for a cheaper price. Other days when I decide to get taco salads, the amount varies which sucks. I don't like getting beans in my salad so I'll get double scoop rice (sometimes they'll ask you if you want double and other times you have to ask for it). I like to get tapatío sauce in a sauce cup and sometimes their even stingy with that! I wish I took a picture of how much I got one time lol it was so little, I was so upset about it because they were stingy with sauce.... like come on hahah. Usually if there's a lady in a white outfit who tells the other workers to stop giving too much food or sauce.... so be aware of that! The food is pretty decent for Pullman. I worked here for about a year and as an employee I'm asking you to please go eat elsewhere. We were way too over worked and also treated like crap. However, the burritos you can make here can taste delicious. Hey a taco salad over a burrito bowl as it's only 50¢ more and you get free guacamole or sour Cream. read more

Decent and ok-priced tater tots and chicken quesadillas with pico de gallo. They can simmer down on the salt. Express line works wonders on a busy day. One of the few good places to get a quick bite to eat in the CUB. read more

This place is the worst place to get food in the CUB. They call it mexican food but, they have the type of quality mexican food that even Taco Bell would be ashamed to serve. They may have a express lane but what they really need to work on in the quality AND TASTE of the food that they serve. I will never eat at this place again. They charge me $8 for a burrito that I could have got from Walmart's frozen food section. Their Quac is frozen. Every time I see this place, I become not so hungry. read more

Manager was not friendly or accommodating, really turned me off to the specific location.

The only thing that prevents me from giving a one star (lower if I could) is the breakfast burritos. Other than this, their food is TERRIBLE!!! read more

The manager in charge was rude and the food sat in my stomach all day and made me feel sick. The quesadilla tasted like it was under a heating lamp for a half hour. I gave this place a second chance but I still had the same results, never eating here again. read more

Great staff, a few really go fast and are polite, they understand that you are either in a hurry or want a good meal. The food is fresh, they have good options, I recommend the Barbocoa beef burrito with sour cream. Priced reasonably, about the same as driving downtown to have a burrito, they are quick and its good. read more

I can't believe this restaurant only has a 2.5 rating on Yelp, I went here once to pick up my sister and was quite impressed with how good their food was and it was reasonably priced for it being a college campus restaurant, if I lived in Pullman I would come here at least twice a month due to the food being really good. read more
