I did get a cheese burger, onion rings ands Dr. Pepper with a little chocolate cake. I loved my food and this lovely Carl's Jr. in Rocklin. Double whammy at this location in Rocklin! I decided to go the fast food route a little over a month ago and I love Carl's Jr's burgers so decided to go there during my lunch break. I pull up toward the menu and there is a line of cars 4 ahead of me. I get to the speaker and a lady comes on very quickly and says "Just to let you know we are out of small meats" Small meats??? What does that even mean?? So I asked "What do you mean small meats? What is considered small meats?" Her reply was "Hamburger". I could not contain myself at this point my response was "Are you seriously out of hamburger meat? You specialize in HAMBURGERS how is this even possible?" She never offered to share what they did have. She asked if there was anything else I would like to order and I responded "No and now I have to wait my whole lunch break stuck in this line of cars!" I was so irritated. As I pulled up I can hear the exact conversation with the same response as me from the car behind me. If you are out of an essential item and it is during a busy lunch hour get someone out side to let people know as they drive up so you don't have a bunch of people stuck!! I spent more than half my lunch break waiting to drive all the way through. Now this brings me to today. I decided to give this spot another chance so I order a DOUBLE famous star...it was mentioned 3 times just at the speaker. I roll up to the window and again he repeats my order I am trusting this. I get back to work...they charged me for a DOUBLE but gave me a single. The bread, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles take up all the flavor when you have only 1 patty you can't taste the meat at all that's why I order a double. Came in to grab a quick bite on our way to the beach. The kid's meal cheeseburger was pretty tasty and the fries were hot. I ordered a Western Bacon Cheeseburger for myself, and was quite disappointed sadly. The onion rings were severely lacking in flavor and the meat was very dry. I visited the store to try out 2 of Carl's Jr's new burgers: 5/5 - Guacamole Double Cheeseburger for $3 - This amazing burger is similar to their $6 guacamole Angus burger popular from a decade ago, but only slightly smaller, and a lot easier to eat. I'm very impressed with the excellent quality given its price. 2/5 - Impossible Burger - This questionable veggie burger has the same texture and look as an Angus beef burger, but has the flavor of sweet tofu. Even after my first bite, I could tell there was something false about the "meat", and not in a good way. I don't think this burger is ready for prime time. I really want to give this restaurant 5 stars, they truly deserve it. However there is just ONE employee , dragging down the entire rating. If I had to guess, she is probably the assistant manager, since she's the only person wearing a black shirt and everyone else is wearing a red shirt. All of the other employees are incredibly nice, give the best customer service, & are beyond the sweetest of people, in which you can tell work SOOO hard. But then there is that one lady. She's probably in her late 30's, & has short blonde hair. (For the sake of this review I'm going to call her Jane) My first experience with Jane was just flat out shocking. My boyfriend asked for a water cup & did the sneaky stupid thing of getting soda. She walked over to our table, 10 minutes later with a cup filled with water, and took his drink & said in the most sharp, nasty, disrespectful tone "water goes in the water cups!". She then walked away & threw his cup away?? 1. I guarantee she would NEVER EVER do what she did to us, had we been her age. 2. A small cup of soda does not affect her nor does it affect the business. (Yes I know it was dumb to do it in the first place, but I think it is more dumb, childish & immature to throw it away.) If anything she should have asked for him to not do it again. But to literally pick it up, & throw it away herself showed a huge amount of disrespect. So here I am again at this restaurant. Before I came I hoped she wouldn't be here. But of course she was. So I'm doing my order, & the lady taking my order is new & being trained, with someone already teaching her. The employee was having a hard time & that's when Jane noticed. Jane basically shoved the new employee aside, huffed & puffed with mad frustration, & gave the new employee an annoyed glare. Jane apologized for the woman, & I told her "Everything was fine? She was doing fine? There was no problem at all?".... Now don't get me wrong, Jane seems very efficient, hard working, loyal, & like the type of person to give 100%. But she also comes off as very controlling, uptight, bossy, mean, & sometimes irrational. I don't know if a position of power , like a manager , is best for her . I don't know her personally but am honestly not happy with how she treated me. I will continue to go here because the entire restaurant is A++.... I can't say that I've ever been thoroughly impressed by a fast food restaurant, but this Carl's Jr. has awesome employees. They were on top of people's orders as if it wasn't a fast food restaurant. If someone was delivering an order to a different table they'd stop by on their way back asking if we needed more ketchup or ranch. I find it difficult to get this kind of service in franchise sit-down restaurants, so it completely blew me away that they were going out of their way for all customers that were there on Sunday September 29th at around 1pm. Bean & cheese burrito, done right. I have eaten at a whole bunch of Carl's Jrs. I am a sucker for their monthly coupons. But this one, really made a tasty brean and cheese burrito. I don't know what they did differently, or if I was just really hungry, but that burrito hit the spot. Maybe is had a lot of cheese......I don't know, but, if you can't tell, I really enjoyed it. I came in to try the $4 real deal promotion to see how it competes with the Wendy's 4 for 4 meal and the Burger King 5 for 4 meal. The pros: Spicy chicken sandwich had good flavor and seasoning on the breading. Fries were crispy and had a good bite to them. Cons: Too much mayo was slapped on my Spicy chicken sandwich and I had to wipe some of it off. Burger was a joke in size compared to their other burgers on the menu and the meat was dry. Finally, the beverage was a water cup size and was not big enough to satisfy my thirst while drinking it on the way home. I'd recommend getting the western bacon cheeseburger and staying away from the gimmick promos. read more

I am sad to say but I used to think that Carl's Jr. Was one of the better fast food chains. Not this location anyway. It was rush lunch hour and fairly busy so I figured everything would be fresh. I ordered the new Texas BBQ burger and a Super Star with cheese. Neither burger was hot enough to melt cheese and the meat was dry and chewy. It was as if there was a supply of meat patties just sitting there and they assembled them into burgers as ordered. The bbq that goes on the Texas BBQ burger was terrible....way too sweet and the fried onions and jalapenos that went on top were bit fresh either. If this is the state of today's fast food (we don't do it often) then you can count us out! Note to Carl....quality of the food is always more important than the speed that it hits my hand! This is one of the friendliest Carl's Jr. I've ever been to. Clean and tidy, polite and very friendly employees, and fast service. I don't see adults and young adults working here because there are no other job opportunities available. I see people who love their job. Have never had a bad experience when eating here (knock on wood). Highly recommend dining here if you're on your way up north towards Reno or headed from Reno towards Sacramento area.
