It has been awhile since I last ate at Carl's Jr. I used to order a Chicken Bacon Western sandwich (which they no longer make) with Waffle Fries. I would alternate the Waffle Fries with the onion rings (two favorites). The menu has changed a little over the years. The San Ramon Carl's Jr is located with a bunch of other restaurants so lots of competition. Carl's had a deal on the Cali Burger that you could make a combo deal for another $2, good value. The burger was good, a little light on the vegetables but overall a good burger, fries were excellent and the order came out quickly. I'm going to go again and breakdown on my spending. I think I'll splurge for some waffle fries or onion rings along with getting a classic Western Bacon Cheeseburger. The staff are quick and polite. Swing by and start by trying of the deals like the Cali Burger and make it a small Combo, out the door for less than $10. read more

Only Carls Jr in the area none in Dublin Pleasanton but a newer modeled one in Livermore next to Cattlemen's. This CJ's is popular for drive thru mostly as every time I've been inside there is no one or one person. Maybe it's because of the outdated 80s interior which is really depressing. The service is good and polite. I do have noticed one burger meal was around $19 so I chose a chicken sandwich and small drink but that was still like $16 geez. Habit burger and Jamba Juice is next door. The drinks are free refill s, the bathroom is a wreck and old too. I wish they remodeled this Carls Jr like Burger King did across the street. It's not like it's messy or anything but people enjoy an updated interior and customers feel the price will justify it. What I like about Carl's Jr is the different types of burgers and they are not small. They even have the Diablo spicy burger again .12.2.24 Shakes are decent too. I wish they had like a value menu or something like other fast food burger places. For them to be in business still with an outdated inside says a lot and they are doing service and taste right. They have an expanded Mexican menu but I have a thing about ordering Mexican food at a mainly burger place and vice versa but I'm sure the green burrito shouldn't be that bad. Heading back from pleasant hill one late night and decided to pick up some food for my son. Saw the line of in and out and thought of going to Carl's Jr instead. Plus its been a while since I had a western bacon cheeseburger. Got to the drive thru. There was a car ahead of me. The person taking orders was patient and nice waiting on taking my order. Bad... just bad. Ordered the "Classic double cheese burger" and a small drink today after shopping at Costco. The burger was a dried out mess, tiny and full of mustard. I had to wait for a while since it appears they're cooking to order. That junk burger was $4.39 with a small drink at $3.19!!! Done with fast food. The drive-thru service was fine and my burger was ready in no time but that's the only good I have to say. I almost never eat fast food but on this particular night I had very few options since it was after 9:30pm. I was afraid I would regret it, given the mediocre ratings I read, and I did. It was a flavorless thing, the Carl's famous star burger I ordered. But what really gets stuck in your craw as you finish it off, is the disintegrating bun that becomes a slimy piece of dough, creating a mess that gets all of your fingers. Never again! Never again! I felt awful after I ate that thing. My advice: Buyer beware! read more

I order a 3 piece chicken strips to see if they were any good, sadly they were not. The Chicken was a ltough and the fried oil after taste was gross. The worst part was the ranch dressing. Not sure why reviews here are so low. I have always had pleasant experiences at Carl's Jr as a chain, as well as this spot. I will say that their burgers are 2nd to only in-n-out. They are very delicious and from what I've seen prices have remained consistent during this massive inflation lately too. I just ordered the big cheese burger but it was delicious. Cooked very well and had lots of flavor. I add a little bit of their buffalo sauce too and it's icing on the cake! This is my go-to since I work late nights about several blocks from this location in Crow Canyon. I ordered through the drive thru and one of the items was a 5-piece chicken tender. When I got home and changed into my house clothes and took the food out, I realized the piece that was on top was CLEARLY BITTEN OR EATEN OFF OF!!! You can tell the difference of something being torn apart or bit. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and dumped the entire content hoping it was just broken and the other part was in the bottom somewhere. The other four pieces of chicken tenders were about 4-5 inches in length, and the one that was clearly eaten was about an inch long. I was, and still am, so appalled by this. I called them right away and even though they are open 24 hours, no one answered. I was not going to drive back there at about midnight to drive 15-20 minutes as I was exhausted from work and was due to leave at 6am the following morning to go out out of town for the weekend. I wanted to email corporate, but they only provide a physical address on their website. I went ahead and filled out a complaint form they had online. About a couple of day later I received a call from the District Manager who was nice. He heard my concerns and I did his. I told him that I did not want any refund, monetary or replacement of food. I just wanted them to know that this was unacceptable and something needs to be done about this. He insisted I get a complimentary replacement for the chicken tenders at the location as to "fix" the issue and asked what day and time I will be arriving. To make him happy, I went back to the location and received the food. As I entered the premises and told the staff that I was sent by the DM for a complimentary 5-pc chicken tenders, the associate in the back handed it to the lady in front. There was another guy that said get her a fresh one. They returned the other one and in 30 seconds they had the same one and told me it was a fresh one!!! Still, I politely took the food and found no reason to complain since like I said, I was not interested in anymore food from there. I've enjoyed Carl's Jr. since my stepdad introduced mo to it in 1985. The location I now frequent is very convenient. Will I return to this location? NO. NEVER. It wasn't a "mistake" that can be fixed. It wasn't a wrong order, or orders were mixed up, or something was extra or something missing, or the sauces were oozing out of the burger wrappers, or it wasn't even a piece missing of the tenders. It wasn't even that some fries were taken or a piece of tender was taken and then completely eaten by an employee. IT WAS BIT OFF OF, EATEN, and the remainder piece was returned! Very unacceptable and unsanitary. The District Manager was nice but if I could give this location a zero star, I would. I can only think of what happens in the back. ***Beyond Burger Review*** The Beyond Burger is advertised as "the world's first plant-based burger". Made with pea protein, It is one of the hottest faux meat products in the market right now, along with the Impossible Burger. I decided to give it a try at this Carl's Jr location when they ran a special promotion on 08/15/2019. In order to redeem this offer, I had to purchase a large drink. That and an order of fried zucchini set me back close to $8. I later found out the regular price of the sandwich was $8.49. At first glance, the Beyond Burger looked just like any ordinary burger. But further examination of the patty revealed a slightly lighter color than those made with beef. I tried the patty by itself and noticed it had a slight smoky aroma. The texture was spongier than beef patties. The taste was actually quite similar to real beef. Had I not known what it was, I would have thought it was a real burger. There is much debate over whether plant-based burgers should be viewed as "healthy food" because of their saturated fat levels and the amounts of amino acids in them. You should do your own investigation to see if you should incorporate it into your diet. Personally, I don't think it has overwhelming health benefits and the taste is just OK. Unless the price comes down significantly, I doubt I'll eat another one. BONUS MATERIAL: - If you have food allergies, I suggest you check the ingredients before trying. read more

Hadn't had a famous star in ages. It was quite tasty. This location is on the far corner near the Habit Grill. Parking was a little cramped in this shopping center but it wasn't too crowded. The traffic flow in the parking lot is a little tricky. This Carls location felt a little old and run down. The inside was a bit dirty and greasy. Could use some refreshing and remodeling. read more

Carl's Jr is so underrated. They need to open one in Dublin but I will go out of my way for it. My usual favorites has been the Western bacon cheeseburger with waffle fries but I recently discovered the charbroiled chicken sandwiches. So good - seriously close to restaurant quality with fresh lettuce and tomatoes that doesn't taste like typical fast food. So when I'm too lazy to cook and just want something quick and easy but not feel horrible eating fast food then Carls Jr charbroiled chicken sandwich is the next best thing. In scrolling through the reviews and not seeing consistent responses from the franchise owner nor a district manager tells me that they much not care much, I think that is also a corporate issue since message when you call the number says the voicemail is no longer working and to send an email which is pretty lame. Regardless I tried to use the app for an offer but they could not use the QR code in the app and the lady working said that they are not taught what to do in order to make it work. Stopped through the drive thru to grab some food for a late dinner. The guy through the order box was SO nice. Patient in allowing me time to make selections and didn't even get grouchy when he had to repeat himself to answer my questions. We got to the window and after paying and getting a few items he said that the person making the food made a 3 piece chicken instead of the 5 piece. He apologized profusely and asked us to pull forward and he'd bring it out ASAP. Fast forward about 3-5 min. He came out with the food, apologizing again for the wait and handing us two 3 piece chicken strips saying he wanted to make up for the mistake. Mistakes happen, and to me the way a business handles it speaks to their integrity. I realize it's only chicken nuggets, but this guy really took ownership and made it right. They were horrible by every definition. They we small, like a this chicken finger wrapped in a cold tortilla with some lettuce and mayonnaise. 2 for $6 is still a rip off for something this size. I have not been to this restaurant in a very long time. I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, this restaurant is very clean clean and spacious. There was not anything whatsoever out of place. I ordered the steak burrito. It was very good, and came with packets of salsa. There is also a very nice salsa bar, which has different types of ingredients. Again, very clean and tidy. We drive out to this location whenever we have our cravings for Carl's Jr. We live in Castro Valley but drive to San Ramon we we're driving to the Livermore restaurant but not after last night. I checked the website, open until 11pm. We get there and the dining room is closed, an employee motioned us to the drive thru so we left. Before leaving I checked the hours posted on the window, dining room open until 10pn...... so what the heck. I won't be back to that place. I called the San Ramon restaurant, yes open for indoor dining. Told the cashier about our experience at the Livermore restaurant and he was surprised as we were. Done. A salsa bar and they are open to midnight. Those are the highlights. I usually get the burger with BBQ sauce and onion rings. I like those - but I've never gotten jiggy with Carl's Jr. I like what I guess is technically table service. I like the carpet in the dining room and the tile in the main walkways - that is the way a nice home is set up. I like the 1/2 and 1/2 that is the real stuff in the small doses out in the open up for grabs. The soda machines were set up efficiently and faced one another but some drain issues where the soda would splash around because of bad design. Smelled like it needed to be washed with some warm soapy water. IDK - if I was in this area an hour earlier I would have just gone across the lot to Sprouts and for the same cost had a much better quality food option... I just don't keep much food at home and often grab something before I head home... sometimes it gets late though and options are not a plenty. read more

Ordered a kids meal, a double western bacon cheese burger meal and 2 spicy western burger meals. Received 2 of the 4 orders correctly but didn't realize the burgers were wrong until we got home. Instead of the spicy western burgers, we got famous star burgers, not even cheese was added. It takes us 15 to get to this place. I tried calling twice so far. No answer. The phone beeps after the 6-7th ring. Oh...and we got 1 straw for all 4 meals with drinks! Plus they somehow missed adding a toy to the kids meal!
