Have to give credit where credit is due. They redid the drive through and it did improve things... Slightly. They added another drive through lane and it did make ordering and going through the drive through itself more efficient. However, they did not address the staffing issues that plague this location. So, while it is easier and more efficient to order your food in the drive through, they still don't seem to have the staff to get orders out as quickly as they should. So, the renovations have improved the drive through time overall, but it's still slow. The employees are always friendly and helpful. Worst Carl's Jr. Ever! The drive through won't respond unless you ask if they are there. My favorite response from them is, "Ooh sorry about that." Wait, are you literally not monitoring the drive through because the last 3 times I've come here you said the same thing. New renovations and staff are killing it! Food is actually good again. Been here several times prior to renovations and it was always a harrowing experience. 100% failure rate to deliver overcooked, cold, stale food. Employee attitudes were atrocious. But NOW, they seem to have fixed it. Most employees are warm and inviting, there is one that wears a day of the dead mask who seems to have an attitude problem every single day, but all else are very amicable. And the food seems to always come out right now. The worst customer service me and family ever experienced. My family and I are new to the area, we probably should have read the reviews, but I guess we got a warm welcome from one of the workers here. We were ordering through the drive-through, and the family felt like breakfast, so we asked if they had a breakfast burger, to which the lady said, "No tomorrow." We didn't know if it was a new item that we would be available for tomorrow or if she mentioned it was only for breakfast hours since the one we used to love Served breakfast all day. So, I asked if it was only available for breakfast hours or all day tomorrow. She replied, "It's called breakfast; that's why it's only for breakfast hours." We all laughed, possibly in amazed the reply she gave us as she continued to explain was breakfast was and we didn't know. I then stated, "Wow, snappy," and the lady said, "YES, VERY." Well, I decided to back out and head to the front, and as I was walking in, I saw this hard-to-miss Hispanic lady, she could have been young, but I'm not entirely sure, bickering with her co-worker looking upset. I told her I apologized if my question was if the item was sold all day or for breakfast only...she still went on with her attitude, trying to explain what breakfast was! I just laughed and kept calm. Her manager came and tried to smooth things over for her and said she would talk to her about being rude and disrespectful and just wanted her customers to be happy. I haven't been here for two weeks, and I don't see us returning or recommending that place to anyone we know. The service wasn't bad, but the food was...not good. My husband got the Baby Back Rib Burger. He said it tasted good, you'll have to look at the picture to see what the problem with it was (when they say baby ribs, they mean BABY ribs, lol). I got the Lettuce Wrapped Thickburger, because the picture looked good. It looked nothing like the picture. It seemed like they didn't know how to wrap the burger, so they put copious amounts of mayo in in hopes that that would keep it together. It was disgusting. My regular fries were good, but not amazing. The crisscut fries were actually really good, I must say. Maybe I'd come back for fries out of convenience because of the location. One of the worst Carl's Jr.'s I've been too, I was on hold for 40 minutes, I ordered a 1/3 jalapeño burger and they gave some cheap cheeseburger with a thinner patty and two jalapeño slices. We got home and two bites in my husband finds a piece of GLASS that fell out of his burger. As bad enough as that shock was my husband called to inform the staff and they asked him to bring the piece of glass and sandwich in. Fine. No big deal. We bring it down and they tell him he can either get half off his next order or they can remake it. WHAT?! How is that a reasonable response?? And how many times has this happened that management isn't even phased or worried and the response is to give us MORE food and a tour of the kitchen to see for ourselves. This location should literally be awarded for the slowest service within 100 miles. I go to get a lemonade sometimes when I have a couple hours to kill. Even when I've been the only person in line it's taken at least 10-15 min to get a lemonade. You see the employees talking joking around standing at the register while you waste away waiting for your change. I only give it two stars because I like their lemonade. The food is always greasy is tastes like it has been sitting around for hours. They need to replace this place on base with somewhere else that is more efficient and has better food. read more

I leave ready to devour this tasty goodness and after I sit down only to realize that not only are there ONIONS in this mug, but it's not even CLOSE to the correct sandwich. Smh. Drive through Extremely slow. Even with only 3 cars in front of me it was about 20 mins. For some reason they are not alerted when pulling up to the drive through so you must get their attention. This is probably one of the least memorable burger joints I've ever been to. It's a bit of an oddity in fact. Fast food on base is usually at least average if not better. I actually really like the Carl's Jr. brand too, but this particular restaurant falls terribly short. My assumption is that it has to do with its location. A bit far away from the hustle and bustle of mainside, tucked in between the gas station and the commissary and right next door to DiCarlo's. While this is yet another fast food chain, they have the best burgers you'll find in 29 Palms. Food here does cost a little bit more than McDonald's or Burger King (which are also in-town), but burgers here taste much more fresh. Of course, they do have salads & other, healthier stuff, but most folks come for the burgers - and you won't be disappointed. Bonus: they have waffle fries, which wins extra points in my book.
