For an Outlet Shopping Mall, it's one of the best location since it's close to San Diego, the beach, hotel, airport, freeway and just about everything else. I prefer parking under a shade of tree and I don't mind the longer walk, and there were plenty of shaded spots here. Trust me on this one - especially on a hot, sunny day. This mall does not have a Nike store, but they do have Adidas, Reebok and Puma. (BTW - what's the deal with Russians wearing Puma leisure jogging suit gears?) There's plenty of other stores to browse from and I always find a hat store to get a Giants, Niners or Warriors cap or two. You see, being an out-of-towner, always head to the discount rack and you will sure to find your team there. There's several places to get your grub on if you start to hear your stomach growling. Options are limited but satisfactory none the less. And to make the wifey happy, just let her do her shopping at her own leisure and leave here alone. There's ulterior motive there of course. Cost me 30 bucks only to find out at home that it had a hole in it. - Parking stinks. Trying parking up the hill along the car dealerships. - Too bad the mall wasn't a little wider. Located next to the Carlsbad Flower Fields it calls to locals and tourists alike. Coming back from San Diego we always make a stop here to just either walk around or to go on a shopping spree. Great selections in brand wear at a very decent price as well. Never come during crazy times like weekdays as this place is so PACKED when it happens. But if you need to do any sort of back to school shopping, then this place is where to come and do it. Wow parking is bad. Did I mention it's bad? It looked like people may start fighting. If you have an electric car, it looks like they had a total of 2 vehicle parking spots for charging and those cars weren't even plugged in! Those spots are really for people who need power to get around and not for your car to sit. I didn't bring my electric that day, but I would have been pissed. Before shopping we enjoyed some pizza at Blaze and the line there was pretty crazy too. There are also other restaurants, but they didn't interest me. As for stores, there are plenty for a few hours of browsing: Coach, Bass, Tommy H., Le Cruset, Banana Republic, etc. A normal Outlet would feature a lot more stores, but this location is limited by the space and location. Side note: the bathrooms on the far back of the complex have a severe stench of used diapers. I'm not sure what the other locations smell like, but it was bad. read more

I love this place, it's a Simon Mall so I'm here on a very regular basis. You know you're a regular when the staff asks, "Where have you been?" if you miss a day or two... With teenage boys, we're at the Vans store all the time. And because they are always offering buy 1, get 1 for 50%, you can pick up two pairs for cheap. Bummed that some stores left. And I would love if they could get Hurley, Quiksilver, and Volcom. Generally clean but gets packed with tourists wielding large suitcases for all their purchases. If you see a tour bus in the parking lot, turn around and come back another time. Parking: Avoid the mall on the weekends or holidays when the flowers are in bloom because parking will be a nightmare. Discounts: Make sure you stop by the information office (across from the restrooms towards the back) and pick up a coupon booklet. Offers change so stop by frequently. Know your prices before you come. Sometimes things are the same price at the retail store. And if you buy from the outlet, the quality may not be the same and you won't be able to return it except at the outlet store. Best time to come if first thing in the morning on a weekday during the school year. Plenty of parking, hardly anyone else, and you can get in and out quickly. read more

Decent outlet mall in Carlsbad located right off the Palomar Airport Road exit. We were staying at a nearby Marriott property so it was a pleasant surprise to find out there was an outlet mall so close to the hotel. It was maybe a 5-8 minute drive away. We went there on a busy Sunday afternoon a little after lunch time and the parking lot was packed. It was definitely what we were dreading. I drove around a little while and then just decided to valet the car ($7). I didnt wanna waste anymore time looking/hoping/waiting for a space to open up. The valet takes your number down and you can text them when you're about to leave so the car can be waiting for you at pick-up. Same system as what The Americana uses. There are some decent shops here. We walked into Nike which was a store on the small size considering this outlet mall is quite busy. Would be nicer if the Nike store was bigger. There is a Gap, Banana Republic, Clarks, Cole Haan, Bose and Converse that I can remember off the top of my head. Food places that I saw were Ruby's Diner, Starbucks and the pretzel place. Decent outlet mall. It could use a parking structure or just more parking in general. They need a bigger Nike factory store.. Plenty of places to sit. That's always a good thing. read more

My wife worked at the MK and Guess outlets here for years. She recently stopped working but we live nearby and stop here occasionally. The outlets are great, but PARKING is terrible. Be prepared to experience a little road-rage, middle-fingers, slow-poke old ladies and skateboarding kids. They do have valet on the weekends. And be careful parking across the street near the restaurants. I see tow-trucks all the time over there. During Christmas, Santa occupies a little house in the middle of the mall ;) read more

I like this outlet mall, one being that it's outside and you can enjoy the weather as your walking from store to store. The other reason because they have a variety of stores to fit the family needs from baby, mom, dad, teen, etc. There's a store for clothing, shoes, cast iron dishware (Le Creuset), jewelry, watches, purses, hats, and much much more. Not only that but this mall is right next to the flower fields which is an added bonus as your passing by. It can be crowded during the holidays but what mall isn't? I like how most of the stores have a cheaper price since they are an "outlet mall" and charge differently? I like to go here to find a good deal. I am obsessed with outlet malls, especially premium outlets. I was expecting more from this location, other than Barney's and Juicy there were not really any stores I like, so it was a pretty short trip. We did walk around and check everything else out, but there is really not much. Barney's was still overpriced and the store was pretty much empty inventory wise. Juicy I did find some cute jewelry, but that is it. Not too much parking available, but we did find a spot pretty quickly, dining options are also not that great. I like to start out by saying that I am a well-traveled outlet shopper. In fact, I have been to outlets all over Cali, in Vegas, in France, and even in Hong Kong. I love a good bargain, what can I say! However- Carlsbad outlets fall a little short for me. Of course, I'd check out their store listings online first if you've never been here, but there aren't really any stores I like at this location. It's quite unimpressive to me. This obviously depends on what you're looking for, but most of the time, I come out of here empty-handed. There is also no food court here. There are a couple of restaurants like Panda, Ruby's & Blaze Pizza. Oh & of course, a Starbucks (brilliant). STORES: Faves are BareMinerals, Barneys New York, Polo Ralph Lauren, Harry & David, BCBG, Dooney, Coach, Cole Haan, Swarovski, Kate Spade & Lacoste. Ferragamo closed & there's now a Chico's in its place. So sad. It was def a highlight of this outlet. There's a relatively "new" plaza across the street where you can find a St. John Outlet. There aren't a lot of "sporty" stores here. No Nike, New Balance, Under Armour, but there is a Puma & Adidas. There aren't many stores for men here at all. This outlet has the "bare minimum." SIZE: This is one of the smallest outlets I've ever been to and not worth a long drive to get to. I definitely prefer Las Americas (San Ysidro) over this one any day. You probably only need about 2 hours here at the most. PARKING: There is a large lot here that can get VERY crowded on weekends or during holidays. LOCATION: Right next to the Flower Fields. Close to freeway & Legoland. Also a great stop to make it you're getting your car serviced nearby! read more

Carlsbad...the city of beautiful scenery, great weather and a NOT so PREMIUM OUTLET. It took me 20 minutes to find parking which was so crazy. I'm pretty sure, I got some dings like many cars I noticed parking so close to each other. After FINALLY finding one, it was time to jet right into business...SHOPPING! Well, I noticed a few of the stores I wanted to check out. Here's my destination map: 01. Barneys of NY - Is it me but the clothes/selections seem like stuff I never seen at the regular stores before. Not too impressed, tiny selection of each high-end designer I liked. NEXT.... 02. Cole Haan - They actually carried some of the same things I've seen at my FAV mall...SCP. Prices were much cheaper and today everything was EXTRA 30% OFF. I got some new goodies. 03. GAP - Had to check out what was behind the extra 50% Off Signs everywhere. Everything .was marked high so when the extra discount was taken off, it wasn't so cheap after all. Hmm...I thought this was an OUTLET!!!! Did I mention complete ZOO, chaotic TENSION all over. Oh...the faces of the poor Husbands, BFs and significant others. Lines were super long. 05. Michael Kors - Tiny Selection, not too impressed. 06. Banana Republic - Same company as GAP so they had the same promotion. Well, much higher mark ups so you don't get a deal at all. I find that at the regular stores, I get a better deal always. Same deal as GAP in terms of experience...ZOO ZOO ZOO! 07. Crate & Barrel - Meh...nothing great, not a great deal on anything. Well that's all I had time (2.5 hours) for today. Pure disappointment. Def NOT a PREMIUM OUTLET in my eyes. NOTE: OUTLET - Small, for a pro-shopper, you can finish this entire mall in 30 minutes if you were just window shopping and walking around to shoot the breeze! PARKING - They do provide Valet Parking for $7.00. Horrible parking layout. Drive just inside the lot, you get a sensed of TENSION and STRESSFUL feeling. Why??? I came to this outlet on Monday late morning around 10 am and was able to find parking just fine. My mother wanted to do some shopping while we had our mini vacation in San Diego and thought this outlet would be the place to do it. I have been to this outlet several times in the past during my San Diego vacation visits. There are plenty of stores to shop at here including BCBG (one of my most favorite stores), Banana Republic, Coach (currently everything in the store is 50% off, but clearance shoes are 70% off), Kate Spade and Ann Taylor (I like to get some of my adult working clothes at Ann Taylor). I always stop by the management office to pick up my discount card (just got to show my triple A card) so that I can save an additional amount on my purchases (not every store participates in this discount card though). When we left, after 12:30 pm, there was very few parking spots left and definitely started to get more busy. So if you decide to shop here, make sure to come early for a good parking spot (maybe you will be lucky to get one in the shade like we did too). read more

The best part of the mall took place in the parking lot behind it. There a car played ultra-loud rap music while somebody in a storm trooper mask danced like Michael Jackson. That there was the real entertainment. Those crazy teenagers. This mall has a lot of good stores, including Barney's, Polo, Calvin Klein, Nine West, and I don't know what else. Whether those stores have great deals is another matter entirely. It's hit and miss. For example, Nine West had a buy one get one half off, so that was definitely worthwhile. When we stop we usually don't stop for long, because we're driving home from someplace like LA or Disney and my kids and my husband are like, "Margaret, we just spent 12 hours walking around, can we PLEASE go home?" When I checked into my hotel the first thing I noticed was the outlet mall! I was super excited to be so close to a mall ;) I love shopping on my vacation!! Especially in the mainland because I go to all the stores I cant find in Hawaii. So first day in California, and of course my cousins and I checked this place out. & OMG - it's really small. This outlet was tiny compared to others, and not a huge variety of stores. I think my girlfriend and I were able to go through the whole outlet within an hour and a half. The great thing though, is this outlet is located right next to the ocean and the flower fields, if they're in season. Not much to see here though as far as outlets go, but if you're in the area, I guess it doesn't hurt to stop by. The parking situation here is HORRENDOUS. If you get here during peak hours, good luck trying to find a spot. You will be circling the lot several times. I've been living in Socal all my life and this was the first time I came to the Carlsbad Outlets. Umm, I think I've been missing out. It's tough to find parking on weekends, so you really just have to find people and stalk them to their car (or get really really lucky). The Gap Outlet was our favorite. It's HUGE and there were amazing deals! We got a bunch of summer clothes and most of them were less than $10 with the gazillion discounts they had. Other stores here include: - Lucky Jeans - Joe's Jeans - OshKosh - Gymboree - Banana Republic - Puma - Coach - BCBG - Crate & Barrel - Theory - Salvatore Ferragamo - Guess - Ann Klein - Sunglass Hut I'll have to make a trip here the next time I go to or drive back from San Diego! read more

It's a pretty nice outlet that is conveniently located by the freeway, and if you don't want to eat at the food court because they have basic foods, there's also many eateries nearby. Not to mention it's right next to the Carlsbad Field of Flowers, so you can stop by before or after during the right season. There's a good number of stores here, but personally, not too many that fit my style. I rarely come here. I've decided it's going to be a really long time before I check out these outlets again. Like, maybe never. Anyway, super intrigued by the 4th of July sales that have littered my inbox from this place (not sure how they got my email), hubby and I drove down thinking that on 4th of July this place would be dead. Nope. It was a freaking zoo. First off, I'm convinced that people brings there bratty kids here just so that they can scream at ear piercing levels when they get sick of listening to them scream at home. I'm not just talking about kids playing. I'm talking about them turning into little monsters. Have none of these people heard of disciplining their children? Absolutely incredible. Secondly, to echo someone else's review, the parking here is a joke. And why is that when someone knows you are waiting for their spot they decide to take five years to get into the car and another five years to finally fire up the ignition and pull out. Seriously folks, I'm glad you have such little to do with your lives that you like to mess with others! One star for the Barney's outlet and another for a decent Michael Kors. Beyond those two stores there wasn't a lot to really rave about. Many, many negative stars for the annoying clientele (screaming kids and bad parents) and the crappy parking situation. I'll take the time to drive all the way up to Camarillo or out to the Cabazon outlets to avoid this zoo gone awry any day. This girl who loves to shop is a very unhappy camper! read more

It's strange to have known so many people I know to work or have worked at one of the shops here. I used to not mind coming because I could come at off hours and do what I do, but holy crap is this place packed. It takes me 17 minutes to get here from my house in Oceanside and another 10 minutes to find parking or not and give up and walk from overflow. That alone is a reason I come here so rarely. I get the "outlet" blueprint and it does work, it's right off the freeway, easy to find. Has some food places and large brands, but it's not a mall. Perhaps it's me being a cranky person, but when I come I don't shop. I go in, do my thing and go. I'm not wandering about looking for things to buy. I'm not a tourist which this place is packed with, aimlessly walking into people. Honestly it's kind of like walking dead trying to avoid "walkers". I don't even buy things for people from here because I would hate for them to come here to use the gift certificate or exchange/return whatever I bought them. I like Sansai, Ruby's Rubio's, Van Heusen, Jockey, Calvin Klein, Banana Republic, Vans and a few other places, but unless your banging out a few of these places you won't catch me here very often. I'll be across the street drinking beer at BJ's if my other half were to drag me here for extended periods of time. read more

Some of my favorite stores are Ralph, Tommy and Godiva. I really like the location it's close to the beach and close to the flower fields. I will definitely continue to come here because of the great deals. They also have a Starbucks, Rubio's and Panda Express. There really isn't anything too special about this place, it's alright. I've been to outlets in NY but this was the first outlet I was introduced in California. There are a decent amount of shops however I wish there was more as choices are limited to Nike, Adidas, Banana Republic, Calvin Klein, Kate Spade, Nine West, Michael Kors. If you go early, say reaching there near 10am-12pm you have a greater chance of getting parking. Anytime else - it depends on your luck and timing in getting parking. I actually was one of those people who waited in Kate Spade once - since they were having a 50% sale. It makes sense that the store was monitoring how many guests could be in the store as they didn't want the store to be overcramped or maxed to hte brim. I went again this past memorial weekend - and there was no line at all as I went in the morning but did not find anything too interesting. Shopping for me is a hit or a miss. The only other store I really shop at is Banana Republic, but all I brought was a pair of slouchy pants kinda of like sweatpants for $20. If you have your student ID - it scores you some discount off in particular stores (in Polo Ralph 15% in providing it and email, in Kate Spade in providing it and email, and in Clarks as well). One of the sales associates also suggested that it would be best to visit the outlets office for a coupon book if you have a student ID. Happy shopping! read more

The rest of the sales in the outlet seemed very standard. Adidas and Puma (buy one get one 50% off), Lacoste (30% off select items), Banana Republic (mostly 25-50% off last marked price), Gap (mostly 30% off), Juicy (a small sale section in the back), True Religion (25% off select items). I've been to outlets with greater sales, but times are tough so saving more but spending less isn't a bad thing :) Parking OMG, these reviews weren't kidding when they said parking was intense! Luckily my husband and I arrived early in the morning (8am, stores opened at 7am) so we had no problems finding a spot. However, when we returned to our car to drop off our items we were stocked by 5 cars! Mind you we parked VERY close to the stores so in the time spent walking to our car we were stocked every 20 seconds! When we finally were ready to leave a man physically got out of his car, walked over to ours, asked if he could take our spot and sprawled across our spot as his wife drove over from the other side! Parking here is not for the weak! So avoid the chaos and come early. As the old saying goes, "the early bird gets the worm." Restrooms Okay, so you're probably thinking, why in the world is that worth mentioning?! Well... after shopping for 5+ hours you're most likely going to need to relieve yourself :P These restrooms are like disneyland quality. Spacious, clean, and modern. You will notice, trust me. Summary We definitely did not leave empty handed, but I'll probably go to the Premium Outlets in Vegas in the future for the heavy duty shopping. read more

Bottom Line: A great place for stylish apparel and most enjoyable if you skip the busy times. Being very convenient to home and work, I have made many trips to the Carlsbad Premium Outlets over the years. As coastal North County residents know, there are not a ton of options for clothing shopping in this area so the Carlsbad outlets are a convenient place to freshen up the wardrobe. Some of my favorite stores here are Banana Republic, Lucky and Coach but there is plenty for men, kids, and home too. The outlet is center is very well maintained with lovely decorative water fountains and clean restrooms. You can tell that management takes great pride in the appearance of this outdoor shopping center. What I don't like about the outlets is when there are masses of people and no where to park. For those reasons, I only visit the outlets on weeknights. If you visit the outlets on the weekends, expect to park down the street and hike in or with any luck you can get to the valet stand to valet your car. Something else I wish was different about this outlet center is the food options. There are a handful of places here to get a bite to eat but they are all on the south end of the long strip mall. So if you are on the north end of the strip and want to get a drink, your options are to either find a vending machine or hike down to the south end for Starbucks, Subway, Blaze Pizza, Rubio's, etc. For me, the lack of food options throughout the center is the biggest downside to this shopping center because its not like you can get a bite to eat half-way through your shopping trip without having to go out of the way and then backtrack. Over the years there has been some controversy about the prices at this outlet center. The perception was that the stores were too expensive for outlets. Perhaps that was the catalyst many years ago for incorporating the word "Premium" into the name. Anyway, I think there is something here for all price points. Some of the more expensive stores include Barney's, Theory, Bose and Tumi but there are less expensive options here too like Gap, Gymboree, Converse and Nike. Service - Great Food - OK The options here are decent. I like going here for Crate and Barrel, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, and Nike. We saw the other day that Under Armour is opening soon in the corner where an old restaurant used to be. We like going here because its has pretty much has all the shops I like and the weather is always good because its nearer to the ocean. My bf likes going here because of Nike, Oakley, Reebok. He's always going into Oakley and I have never seen him buy one thing. I guess he likes how the place looks. We recently go more often into Reebok because they sell crossfit apparel. It seems like all the outlet Reeboks have the same sale, which is good and we took advantage of that. This place is simple, good location if were going to pass through as we go to San Diego. read more

Great selection of shoes, clothes, some luggage, some food, etc. Adidas has real product at great prices for Adidas. Some stores sell outlet products. Cheaper stuff. Ruby's Diner is great. Especially for breakfast. Mot'to Japanese Grill has great healthy choices and more. There is no public wifi at the mall. read more

It's one of the smallest outlets I know. Not really much of a deal at any store, so didn't really buy anything. As expected, you can always find Coach at an outlet store. There's also BCBG, Ferragamore, St. Johns, Banana, and that's pretty much all the good stores, but there isn't much of a discount. Tip: Make it a one trip tour for the flower field + shopping~ Your girls will like that! read more

I came to shop on one of my off fridays and really enjoyed that it was not at all crowded. The sales people in every store were pleasant and very helpful. I ventured into several stores Crate and Barrel, Coach, Michael Kors, Banana and Ann Taylor to name a few favorites. If you know what to look for, you'll definitely find bargains! There is also a good variety of restaurants to chose from when you get hungry. There are better dine-in restaurants if you venture across the street. Parking is horrible during the holidays and most weekends, so try to go early or later in the day! read more

Love this outlet. They have Tory Burch, Coach, Kate Spade, Dooney & Bourke, Crate and Barrel, Gymboree, Carters, Tumi, Disney Store, etc. I just wish they had better food choices. You also have to be careful picking items, as we had to travel 50 miles back there for some damaged gloves I got from Coach ($40 for leather gloves w/ MSRP $140). read more

Wow! I'm impressed! Carlsbad Outlets has definitely improved since my last visit. I made my way out to Carlsbad for some Christmas Shopping. I remember these outlets used to be super boring but I saw on the directory online that they now have Tory Burch and Wildfox which they don't have at the San Ysidro Outlets. I finished all my shopping here in one trip! Woo! I love how they also have Kate Spade plus they have Celine bags 40% off at Barneys! The only sucky part is that they definitely need more parking. OMG does parking suck here. There's a sign at the outlets that says there's overflow parking at Armstrong's/Flower Fields, but over at Armstrong's it says there's no overflow Outlet parking LMFAO. read more
