Carlucci's interior is nothing to special, but if you are able to sit outside it's a solid 10/10. The views are great and it's quiet and very relaxing on their back patio. My family and I went for lunch and we enjoyed our meals. My coconut shrimp was delicious! Our server was so kind, and the entire staff was very warm and attentive! I was in area and had to kill two hours. Always wanted to try this place. So, I did. Arrived and it is an older restaurant. Situated on te creek. I think it was the Pirates Inn before. Very hot but, I chose to eat outside. Very nice lighted patio. I ordered the Vodka Penne. Came with a salad hitch was not impressive when it came and thought to myself it was not going to be good. Well, when the meal came I was proven wrong. I ordered the meal with shrimp instead of chicken. Five large shrimp not over done. Penne pasta with vodka sauce was scrumptious. I highly recommend a visit and this dish! Would eat there again. They do need to fix the ladies room door. Net to open and it was stuck. I thought it was locked and stood there for some time. One of the worst Italian meals I've ever eaten!!! I recently went here with a party of 10 for my birthday. After reading the menu and looking at the waterfront view I expected to get an amazing meal. I ordered Seafood Carnivale for $43 and it was inedible. Calamari tasted like a rubber tire. Mussels and Clams were full of sand. I got the antipasto appetizer and it was pretty good, unfortunately I had to ask 3 times for bread with my appetizer. What Italian restaurant serves bread with foil wrapped butter in the basket. Ever hear of Olive Oil with spices in it served with the bread! They forgot my daughters meal altogether so my 9 year old sat with no food during the meal until they brought out the frozen ravioli's they serve. My family has been eating fresh ravioli from Talluto's for years so we know how a fresh ravioli tastes. These were terrible and over cooked. The manager did ask how my meal was at the end of the meal and for the first time in my life I told a server/manager it was the one of the worst meals I've ever had. He did take the meal off the check but the money wasn't the issue. I drove a half hour to have a great meal on the waterfront for my birthday and it was a huge disappointment. I have heard about this place and have been looking forward to a romantic date night with my husband here for years. Finally we had our chance this past week. I ordered the caesar with my filet and crab cakes as an app. The salad came and honestly it looked like the scraps from all the other salads. Mostly the base stems of the romaine and was so overly dressed I passed on it about 1/3 of the way through. Our crab cakes came mid salad which made the table kind of crowded. They come as a group of four silver dollar sized cakes edging a heaping pile of garlic spinach, which I felt was unnecessary. The steak came with it's sides on a separate plate and were not even mentioned in the menu. The steak was cooked properly, however the sides were completely unseasoned. The steamed (almost soggy) broccoli came with no salt or seasoning and along side was some type of mashed potato that was extremely bland. The server was smoking her vape pen each time she brought our dishes back into the kitchen which I find just foul. The person I would assume is the manager (was wearing a suit and some "fancy" sneakers) was wandering the place drinking a bottle of beer!? All in all we were pushed out from start to finish in 40 minutes. 10/10 would never recommend or return. Even the sunset scene can't make up for the horrid experience we had there. We came here around May, so the weather was very nice! They have a beautiful patio with a serene waterfront, so we had outside. I have to say that it was a little windy that day, and napkins and things were getting blown off the table! Nonetheless, we had a very enjoyable afternoon due to the relaxing ambiance, friendly staff, and delicious seafood. We started with 1/2 dozen raw oysters and fried calamari. The oysters were very fresh and tasty while the calamari was very flavorful and crispy with an even batter-to-calamari proportion! In addition, I got an apple martini that looked simple with no aesthetic garnish, but just one sip hit me like a boulder! It was STRONG! and perfect for a relaxing afternoon! After the appetizers, our main courses were followed with cocktail shrimps and coconut shrimps! I feel like shrimps never go wrong at restaurants. In fact, they were very tasty, but I was already full from the appetizers! Dinner at Carlucci's is always good. I do not think I have had a bad meal there. Tonight was no exception. We started with the crab meat bruschetta which was wonderful. We both opted for the salads over the soup, my wife had the fresh garden and I had the Cesar. For the main dish, I had the blackened prime rib with Bleu cheese crumbles. I am sure I have mentioned that I love steak in other reviews, in fact I am not sure which I love more, steak or ice cream. But anyway back to the meal...the steak was cooked perfectly for me and was very juicy. The mashed potatoes were just okay in my opinion, but I am married to a Polish woman that crushes mashed potatoes. The veggies were bland and needed some seasoning. My wife had the sea bass and she was very pleased. So much so that she kept complaining that she was full but still managed to eat all of it. No dessert tonight being that we were both stuffed, but overall, very happy with the meal, service, pricing, and atmosphere. read more

This is my 4th visit to Carlucci's. Maybe more, but I a fan -- food has been consistently delicious and service has been excellent. The decor in the dining room is decent with white linen napkins and tablecloth. Nothing fancy but you go for the food usually. All the dinners was properly done, the salads and soups great, the bread fresh. We shared a chocolate cake dessert, which was excellent and enjoyed the piano player in the background. We will be back for sure, as I'm a local resident and have taken family from Philly here on several occasions; nobody had anything bad to say about the food or service. Yes, the crowd is mixed, most are drinking wine or other cocktails. One of these days, I will dine there during daylight hours to see a better view of the Rancocas River. read more

He kept pushing us to order even when we explained we hadn't seen each other in some time and were sorry we hadn't looked at the menu. We ordered. The waiter never came back to refill our drinks! Never ever! One drink each was all we got! We had hoped to stay and chat but were pushed out. It was uncomfortable. I have never not been offered a refill at a restaurant! Absolutely loved this place. I was thinking I should wait to enjoy the waterfront view on the patio before I went. Nope, I went when it was cold and they sat me right next to the window (make sure you request a window table) and it was Beautiful. Customer service was great, and the food was amazing. The prices were right on point and the drinks were on point. They will fill up your glass and give you the rest on the side. This is something I really appreciated. I am not from NJ and never lived there, but I will tell you this place made me feel like I was home. I felt like a regular and I have never been there before. They just get it. It is all about the detail, and they got that down. If I had to give them some advice. I will have them do something with the dumpers and that area on the right side of the restaurant. This restaurant is a very large place. It was packed to the gills when we arrived. It was still able to get us seated immediately with no wait. I had pasta fagioli and Mom and Dad share the antipasto to start. Appetizers were delicious. I had the filet cooked medium. It was served with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was all delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection. Mom had scallops wrapped in bacon. I didn't try them but she was more than satisfied said they were superb. Dad had flounder stuffed with crabmeat. He also enjoyed it very much. We would absolutely come again. Mom and dad had been here before. It was my first time, and I'll be back. We made a reservation on open table - there was some confusion when we arrived in locating the reservation and I did mention on the app we were celebrating a birthday. Not sure how that's communicated to the restaurant but it went unnoticed. We were seated immediately after our reservation was eventually located. I don't recall our waiter's name but he was very attentive and personable. We started with the antipasto and calamari appetizer. Both were good and we split among four people. For dinner we had the lamb chops, NY strip, chicken franchise and chicken parm. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I always order chicken parm - didn't this time, but had a taste and the sauce was delicious. We used a yelp 20 percent off coupon which negated the half off wine deal. I decided to come to Carlucci's for a cocktail because of the fact that they had outdoor seating and it was such a beautiful spring day, plus it just so happened to be happy hour. I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery while sipping my cocktail. Needless to say, that is pretty much the only basis for my 3 stars. The food was extremely bland and "basic" to say the least. With each bite I thought to myself "I could make this 10x's better." However, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt in that I only ordered from the bar style menu during happy hour. I wouldn't recommend going to Carlucci's if you're looking to be blown away by food. I probably won't be back to have anything to eat. If you want to have a drink during happy hour from 4-6 and enjoy the weather, I would say go for it. read more

Not one dish was even adequate. And the bad food was waaaaay overpriced. The room was like a small banquet room. No ambiance. I visited Carlucci's for a baby shower last year for the first time despite living only about 10 minutes away my whole life. Each course served was shockingly really good. We all left the baby shower exclaiming how good the food was. So last night, we decided to order take out and I didn't have any expectations but was a little uncertain that the food would be good the second time...Surprise, it was so good. I ordered the Capellini Napoli which was Angel hair pasta with a red sauce and lump crab meat. The entree came with a choice of salad or soup and bread. I choose a Caesar salad. There was a good amount of sauce and a perfect ratio of crab meat, which if I had to complain, I'd say that there were a few shells left on the crab but other than that, a really enjoyable meal. Paul our server was attentive and professional. He allowed just enough time between courses and made sure our glasses were filled. Do try the antipasto which is delicious. I opted for the pasta e fagioli soup. Very flavorful. Then I had the Almalfi Shrimp which is a fabulous combination of shrimp, crab and salmon. Stumbled on this place while visiting my moms house. From the outside you wouldn't know it was a restaurant. Literally found it on yelp and when checking for places to eat in the area. It was Sunday so it was a much older crowd, pretty quiet inside, but really dark in the dining area. Not sure what that was about but there was a young woman walking around lighting the candle while people were eating. That probably should have been done before people were seated. The food was good.
