I've been going to Carmel Nail Bar regularly for pedicures. The regular pedicure service is so good. I do a classic pedicure with gel polish and have not been disappointed. All the techs are great. BRIDES- Look elsewhere. I came here two days before my wedding to get ready for my big day, knowing everyone would be looking at my hands and ring. Unfortunately, Katie rushed through my Gel-X set, leaving me with fast, sloppy work and some of the worst nails I've ever had. To give credit where it's due, the pedicure was great, but ruining a bride's manicure right before her wedding is unacceptable. I've returned a few times even though having my nails done typically isn't my thing because I'm so hard on my hands and it never lasts long. HOWEVER. I got a gel manicure 15 days ago and it has held up PERFECTLY. I am so impressed. No chips. Overall good but slightly mixed recent experiences here. Pros: - nice that walk-ins are available - great color selection - love the massage chairs - overall feels very clean and new - relatively attentive staff, free bottled water, etc. - pedicure experience overall super lovely. I had Gina and would definitely recommend her! The hot stone and all components of the pedicure were lovely. I think the price for a pedicure is reasonable - awesome being able to do simultaneous mani/pedi - Mike super sweet and lovely for my first manicure, attentive, caring. And for the cons: - dazzle dry is an extra charge (which they mentioned ahead). Mani is already super overpriced. - I went on a return trip and the dazzle dry ended up being bubbly and uneven (not sure the technicians name because she never spoke) - also on return trip, the tech was super aggressive on my cuticles and skin around my nails (I have almost no cuticles and very little dead skin or any issues, so there was no need for any of this) and she sliced right into my skin next to my nail. As I was bleeding, she kept dabbing it with the towel (ummmm, maybe get some gauze or something more hygienic??). I asked if she can please sanitize the wound. Silently, she grabbed powder, and with her bare hand shoved it onto the blood. WTF. Maybe like, clean the open bleeding wound that you've created? She clearly didn't understand any English so my sister asked her technician (who did speak English) if they could please get something sanitary. So they sprayed a tiny bit of alcohol on top of the powder. Super f-ed up. When she grabbed the snippers to attack my other hand, I pulled my hand away and said no way, just paint my nails. And honestly? My cuticles are so nonexistent and skin in good shape that you cannot tell the difference between my two hands, minus the bloody scab on the hand that she went to town on. Just waiting to see if it gets infected - hurts like a mother every time I wash my hands a day later, so that's awesome. - nobody showed ANY concern for the above experience. No discount in price, no real inquiry on anything. The fact that the tech wanted to do the same to my other hand without even asking? No way. At least 6 clients were aware that something was happening because I said "I am bleeding, can we please sanitize this?" and they all looked concerned but no technicians cared enough to pause or turn their heads. - barely any of the technicians are speaking with the clients, no introduction, super odd. I am used to salons where my tech and I chatted and built a relationship for repeat visits that I really looked forward to. I don't think this is a place for that, which is fine. But discouraging, when basic human communication is out the window. Would I return? On occasion, probably, when I'm in town with my sister, and only if I can book Gina or Mike because I have little trust in the rest of the staff given their silence when I was cut. I'll see how long this round of dazzle dry holds up, given how textured it is. I wanted to rate this a 4 or 5, and my sister seemed to enjoy her experience here, but the lack of humanity and questionable sanitation is ... really not appealing. read more

Katie gave me this beautiful gel-x pink/white tip manicure while Mr. Mike did my pedicure (not pictured). This is embarrassing to write publicly lol but my left big toe was cut weird (from before, they didn't do it here) and Mr. Mike fixed it by molding a new edge for me. So I think they are lovely, attentive and tried their best. Unfortunately, their dazzle dry application wasn't great. Either from having too thick of a top coat to not letting the layers dry in between applications, I left with bubbles and marbling on most of my nails. They kindly didn't charge me extra and apologized- I advised them to add Revive to thin out their dazzle dry and also to review application process for DD - rushing or not applying thinly enough will cause bubbling, marbled polish... read more

Signed up for a basic pedicure on a weekend. The salon is nicely appointed, light and airy. However the quality of my pedicure was disappointing. The master didn't care to push my cuticles back, she just painted over them. Also I was abandoned for 30 min, the girl jumped to fit it two manicure walk-ins.
