I was involved in an accident and carmel towing picked my car up. This was the worst mistake. Ed held my car at ransom. He wouldn't release my car to the auto body shop because he claimed that farmers insurance owed him $360,000 for 12 trucks. I have no idea what he was talking to me about. I had to file complaints and go to the police. Finally after charging $4,500 for storage fees, Ed released my car. My car wasn't even there for a month. What he charged was $173 a day and California law says $43 a day is what should be charged. Ed knows how to work the system. Stay away. These guys at Carmel towing are crooks. read more

I made a call for dead battery, after the care was started the technician began using his flashlight (in a dark parking lot) to look through the back storage of my vehicle, in center console, and the passenger seat. I asked him what he was doing, he got very defensive and left. I called the office to report and they seemed very defensive and hostile despite me only letting them know what I had witnessed. AAA uses their service and I've bought a battery through them even heavily tipping their technician in the past, so the way I was treated and them telling AAA they refuse to service my vehicle again tells you a lot about how they run their operation. read more

One of their drivers almost crashed their tow truck into my car. My husband was driving on the freeway and out of nowhere (and while the vehicles are COMPLETELY PARALLEL) he began entering our lane. We were just behind him a few moments prior and he did NOT have his indicators on. There was NO way for us to know he was switching lanes. We only avoided a collision because thankfully the lane to the left was open and my husband moved over. The driver seemed to be in a rush because he nearly drove past the vehicle he was apparently picking up. I called the company to complain and an extremely rude female receptionist answered the phone. I explained to her that the vehicle was parallel to us and he nearly crash into us with an infant in the vehicle. She said "California law says you can't be driving when a tow truck is picking up a car. He's picking up a car you have to stop so he can get the car and traffic can drive along." I clarified that every single lane was moving, there was nothing to indicate to anyone that there was a car pulled to the side. Nothing to indicate that the driver was switching lanes (pretty sure California law requires you signal.) She continued "you're not making any sense. I'm not going to argue with someone who doesn't know anything." I asked to speak to a manger and she refused, "leave whatever complaint you want" and hung up on me. Absolutely disgusting company practices. A waitress at a shitty diner wouldn't have the nerve to be so rude to someone ESPECIALLY when a mother has nearly been in a car accident with her child due to their employees reckless and illegal driving. Juan is horrible, they need a new technician. He really needs better customer service. I had to use this company through my AAA Plus membership account, I explain to him the car had to be dropped off at the service department down the lane he said "if I take it over there and have to bring it back I will leave it there" it was VERY rude and insensitive. For a service I am paying for, I stated that the employee told us the vehicle had to be taken there. He said that Nissan shop had made him bring it back and if that is the case he will "leave my vehicle there" I explain to him his tone and his chose of words were very rude and insensitive to be talking to me like that a service I am paying for. I guess he didn't like that response. And decided he would just be dropping my vehicle as is and left it. He literally left my vehicle.. he didn't finish his job, and decided to leave me stranded in a location I do not know. 110% inconsiderate and malicious. July 8 2021, the driver arrived earlier than expected and he even waited for me to be ready and to pull my car out of the parking garage under my building. I was scared to drive the car because it was shaking so much and the check engine light was on. Luis really made sure I felt confident about driving the car out of the garage and he took very good care of the car and made sure it was secure. I've dealt with these people for more than once and enough times. They get dispatched for aaa services for Hollywood area. All drivers are extremely rude. I just had a horrific experience while the mechanic disrespected me verbally and took off without calling triple aaa to confirm his service for me after I had paid $100 just to get him there. He also threatened that I wouldn't recieve service as I'd be blocked .. Aaa has confirmed Carmel towing is not going to provide service .. I think this is a wonderful case for the small claims court as I've waited more than 2 hours since this incident. I had the unfortunate need to call AAA the other day due to a dead battery. A man named Julio was sent and from the second he arrived, the sexual-harassment did not stop. Starting from the questions about why I didn't call my boyfriend to fix my car, and ending with him having my phone number due to AAA giving it to him, I was harassed NONSTOP. He constantly leaned in and did not abide by the 6 foot rule. He got way too close and complained many times about having to wear a mask. On 2 occasions my experience with Carmel Towing was terrible. 1) My car needed a new battery. The driver arrived and jumped the car but the engine sounded like it was struggling. I asked him to replace the battery. He refused. But he said he would tow it somewhere. Then he offered to buy my car from me. I said I wasn't interested. Again I asked for a new battery and again he refused. I told him in my 28 year business with AAA I had never had a tow company refuse to install a battery. He said it was safe to drive to get a new battery and he left. I attempted to drive it and 5 minutes later the car died. A friend helped me buy and install a new battery. After driving it for 5 minutes the car died. The driver lied. It was not safe to drive. I complained to AAA about the poor service at Carmel Towing. They comped me the jump start. 2) I waited a week and through the AAA app I requested a tow and with bad luck Carmel towing texted that they were on their way! It was a 45 minute wait, supposed to arrive at 11:20AM. At 11:20 Carmel messaged that the new pickup time was 12:55PM. Clearly they remembered my car and address and knew that I had complained to AAA about their terrible service so they were getting back at me by making me wait hours for a tow. I had battery trouble while I was in West Hollywood last night and so I contacted Triple A to get me some Roadside assistance. Within 30 minutes I got the help I needed. Abbus from Carmel Towing came to the rescue! Once I popped the hood and got the jump, Abbus showed me the battery report and said that it's basically dead and I should head straight home. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible because I needed to make a few stops. And so Abbus advised to follow him to his shop a few miles from where we were at so that I can buy a new battery. He told me that typically they don't offer battery sales at night, but he knew I really needed it and so he made the exception. I am so grateful that he went out of his way to help me. Once we pulled into Carmel Towing his guys were there to greet me as well. Nick was there to help with the invoice and Juan was there to oversee if there was anything that Abbus needed help on. All three guys were super friendly and helpful. I was lucky that at the time they weren't too busy so that I could get the service I needed. I know that battery replacement isn't that big of a job, but the fact that Abbus cared enough to take some time to take me to his shop to get my battery replaced, really showed me that even the smallest job is important for a customer. I'm truly grateful for what he did. I had no trouble getting back to San Diego last night and my car is now in top shape again with a new battery. Thanks Abbus! Thank you to Nick and Juan as well. This was a difficult tow because the front wheel was off the car and no way to put it back on but Juan & David made it happen! There was a lot of miscommunication between AAA reps and what Carmel said is AAA protocol. To save you some trouble and so you dont end up waiting 4 hours like we did: Carmel can ONLY tow to a repair shop or residential address. Do not do this and you will receive the absolute worst service and they wont accept the tow from AAA.....please make sure you get someone at AAA who know what they are doing when they set up your tow. read more

Juan came to save the day! I told him, he's an actual Angel. I needed this morning like I needed a hole in my head but you know shi* happens. I was headed into the office when the car didn't want to start after several attempts and who has time for this sort of stuff, not me, not today. It finally started and I made it in but then it dawned on me tandem parking with a potential battery issue is about to be another issue. I backed in and called AAA. 7 (yes seven!) minutes later Juan was calling me from our valet entrance at work and was headed up to the level I was parked on. He was so kind and polite, with a friendly smile which is exactly what you need when you're stressed the f out. He quickly tested the battery (bad! which I had a feeling was the issue), alternator (fine) and reprogrammed my auto windows after I told him when scanning into the parking structure I'd noticed weren't functioning properly. I paid for the battery and everything was complete in less than 20 minutes. Life saver! Juan's speedy arrival and turn around time are greatly appreciated.
