I had hit a short parking garage pole in the tiny one paseo parking garage (one of the worst designed parking garages known to mankind). Did some serious damage to my car as pictured. I immediately found Torrey pines collision center through Tesla insurance. They are very responsive on the phone which is very helpful. They are a Tesla approved body shop and with the previous reviews regarding Tesla fixes, I felt good about having them fix my Tesla. There was a bit of confusion between them and Tesla insurance which was a bit annoying regarding the scheduling the drop off of my car and when the claim estimate would have been approved. I would have been renting a car while my car would have just sat at their shop until the estimates were approved which is wasteful in terms of the number of days Tesla insurance covers a rental car. Not blaming this on the collision center but there does need to be some sort of better communication between Tesla insurance and Tesla approved shops in general. After a month of them working on the car they did an absolutely fantastic job to the point I can't tell the accident ever happened (also pictured). I'm thankful for their service and care to detail. An additional pro that i haven't experienced at other body shops was the convenience of dropping off the rental car at the shop and they coordinate with the rental car service for return. Only other recommendations for improved customer service would be call backs on providing updates on the repairs. I'm guessing so many customers call them they anticipate they'll update people then but an email, text, or phone call on the status would be very nice! I am thankful for their hard work. read more

This is my second visit at this shop. Last time was about 4 years ago for window tinting job. I must say that this place is the best at what they do. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. The service is exceptional. They go above and beyond my expectations. There's even welcoming pooches - Mini Fridge and Cinnamon roll (both French bulldogs) to greet you as you enter the reception area. My car bumper had several scratches with paint peeled off from getting hit by another car. Pat and Jay came out right away and inspected the extent of the damage. Sent the assessment to the insurance company and ordered the part(s) immediately. Within a couple of days my car was restored and the job was completed. My car bumper looked like new. Excellent work! Had great experiences both times I've used their services. First time was for rear bumper repairs after being rear ended. Scheduling a drop of was easy and having on site rentals made it super convenient, as I did not have to get a ride from anybody else. The quality of the work was flawless. The newly painted bumper matched exactly, even though the car had the upgraded factory paint. The ability to drop off the rental back with them and drive off in my own car made things that much better. My second visit was for paint scratch repairs. My door had gotten keyed and I wanted to get an idea on how much the repair would be, so I could decide on paying out of pocket or go through insurance. I called them and they said I could swing by to get it looked at. Luckily, after a close inspection, they said it was worth trying to buff it out and we could make a decision on the results. Within minutes, the technician came back with a perfect looking door with all signs of damage removed! I got lucky the scratches were light enough to get buffed out, but they were super helpful in taking small steps in escalating the repairs, as repainting would be the last and most expensive resort. On vacation, my wife's brand new Rav4 (1900 miles) was involved in a hit and run in a shopping center down in the San Diego area. A lot of damage to the front end of the car, the sheet metal was pushed in so much that even the driver's door barely opened and closed. They don't crowd their shop with cars. They care about the work they do. Their results are quality. THE DAMAGE. Someone swung open their door (not generally, aggressively) and hit my side panel leaving a very tiny scratch but deep because it cut through layers of paint. It was tiny yet on the body line and an eye sore. At first, I went to several auto body shops around SD and even went to BMW's contracted auto shop. Price didn't matter to me since its going through that party's insurance or they paying it out of pocket but it's my car and I wanted to get quality work done in a decent turn around time. My quotes all averaged the near the same no matter where I went. I think the person who caused the damage doesn't understand that this tiny scratch is going to cost a couple thousand and I'm not going to use touch up paint on my BMW so he decided to go through insurance since it was unaffordable to pay out of his pocket. THE PROCESS. Of all the shops I researched and checked out, this auto body shop stood out! You can tell they care about their reputation and quality and doing the best work. Unlike many others shops. They told me what their plan was to fix. And gave me a turn around time of 5 days. They were submitting a supplemental to insurance and that could add extra days. I also appreciate how they keep the car inside the shop and not outside. Their next availability for me to drop off my car was 2 weeks and that was fine with me. When time came, I arrive first thing Monday and dropped off the car. Enterprise came to pick me up and take me to get my rental. Wednesday I received notice that my car was out of the paint shop and I should be able to pick up my car end of the week (Friday). I followed up and on Thursday said I could pick up the car on Friday but wasn't sure when. Friday mid-morning I received notice my car was ready for pickup. I arrived Friday around lunch time, they told me what they did to my car, signed some documents and paid them what that person's insurance paid me, I gave them the rental car key, they called Enterprise to pick it up. They did submit a supplement (as expected) to insurance. Instead of me waiting on all that approval and the additional funds, they decided to handle that with insurance on their own. I appreciate that! Most shops will keep you on idle for days/weeks when there are supplementals. THE RESULTS. Quality work. Paint matches exactly - they sand down and repainted that panel (biggest panel of the car). Damage is gone. They blended the paint with the door. 4.990 stars. Pretty much perfect customer service experience and work. After a hit and run parking lot accident where someone hit our Tesla Model Y's front driver panel, we were referred here by our insurance company Geico to get a repair estimate. There were several options but based upon the reviews we went with Torrey Pines Collision. Ariel took photos and submitted to Geico and we received a pretty lowball estimate to repair the Tesla from our insurance. I asked Ariel when we came if the estimates are usually lower than what it would cost to repair and she said they almost always are. Because they are Tesla approved, and because I am a faithful Yelp elite who trusts my fellow reviewers implicitly, we decided to go with this 5 star shop to repair our Tesla. The car was drivable and we were told that the next appointment was two months away, but we felt that the reviews and the rapport we built with TPC at this point was worth the wait rather than having it repaired sooner at a lesser facility. We came on the day of the appointment and had coordinated a rental car to be delivered to TPC on the day of the drop off. Everything was seamless and the quote that it would take about 2 weeks to fix was spot on. The repairs were flawless --can't tell where the accident even was they did such a good job. When we picked up the car we were notified that there was a small trim piece that was on backorder from Tesla and that they would call us when that came in for us to get that installed (we were told it would take only a short time when it finally did come in). Get this -- even though they were paid for the repairs already and I wouldn't have been surprised if I had to check back in with them to see if the trim piece had come In, a week after pick up Ariel called us and told us that it had arrived and that we could come anytime. Install of the trim piece took about 10 minutes and we completed that part the same day! Wow! Without hesitation would come here again should anything else happen to the Pom Patrol (our Tesla). My only note would be it would have been nice to get a text or phone call to remind of us of the initial appointment to get our car fixed as it was 2 months in the future and they could probably prevent a lot of no shows and cancellations that way. read more

10/10 solid service. Super minor issue - my gas tank cover was scratching against the paint of my car. Brought it here and had the owner (the dad) look at it. He gave me an estimate of $75, which I thought was a bit steep, but he also tried to fix it on the spot. Fixed it about 85% of the way, and then told me it wasn't worth it for me to get it done there. Told me to go home, spray some WD40 on the hinge and nudge it a little bit more. Went home and did what he told. Problem resolved. Good on them for helping customer save money. I love that they're such honest people. I took my car into TPCC for two repairs. My front bumper was pretty scratched up and was able to be repaired and did not need replacing. Not only was the work done quickly, it was phenomenal work. I can't tell where the damage was before and the paint was matched exactly. I also had a big dent and some scratches on my rear bumper from a hit and run. They ended up having to replace the entire bumper and did this as fast as they possibly could. The only delay was from the company they bought the parts from and they kept me informed about this the entire time. Not only do they do amazing work, their customer service is unmatched. Everyone is extremely friendly and responsive. They also have text capabilities which was very convenient for me. I initially took my car to another repair facility and they were going to charge me quite a bit more than TPCC. Patrick, the owner is a scammer. Stay away. I originally brought my car in for a bumper repair, then later the trim started coming off one of my wheel wells post repair. I brought the car back, and patrick rudely INSISTED I hit something, because the bumper had a line of dry dirt on it - and he felt a line of dirt represented someone hitting me. I wiped off the dirt with my hand in one swipe, exposing the fact that the bumper was in perfect shape and just the trim was loose and that he was wrong. I continued telling him to resolve the bumper trim issue which was simply bad workmanship. Patrick then switched his story to "you just wiped off the evidence of the "hit"" then refused to fix the issue and told me to leave and he won't fix it. I don't know about you, but any hit I have ever seen at a minimum leaves a scratch, or some evidence of a hit. And in no case have I ever seen dirt on the bumper being the result of a hit. Patrick used my bumper being slightly dirty as an excuse not to fix his shops incompetence. This was almost comical to me that this guy who is considered a "professional" was pointing to dirt as evidence of a crash!!! Patrick, you are a scammer and a liar. Fortunately, I've sparingly needed the services of a body shop in my 20 years of driving. And in every other instance, prior to Torrey Pines Collision Center, my experience was distasteful. Here, on the other hand, my experience was literally outstanding. Their staff are energetic and diligent. I was kept informed throughout the repair process in an open and timely fashion. And their communication was actually clear and intelligible (thanks Jay). I'm sure most people who've ever dealt with a body shop before found them to be the antithesis of what I've just described above about Torrey Pines Collision Center.
