I stopped by for a quick snack yesterday and I had one of the best tacos of my life! Their food was very affordable, fresh, and delicious. I got the suadero taco which I hadn't tried before and loved it. They have a salsa bar so you can mix and match. It was easy to get a table, and the employees were very helpful.

Carmelo's never misses! They have the best carne asada tacos and quesadillas I've ever tasted. Everything is well marinated and fresh, and prices are the best deal for the quality they deliver. Can't recommend it enough. Staff are super nice too. This spot is always busy so I recommend placing an online order for pick up. It's to go only at this location but if you go up the street to the Broadway one there is seating inside!

The best tacos in Seattle. I usually get the chorizo and the al pastor tacos, and they always come out perfect. Don't sleep on the red hot sauce at the sauce bar, which has a nice smokiness. If you're feeling up for dessert, the churros are rich and decadent. The sauce bar is clean and organized. They recently changed out the long picnic tables for wooden tables, and the upgrade provides more seating, especially during busy hours.

We ordered Carmelo's Tacos through DoorDash, and I'll give credit where it's due, that everything was packaged really well. Nothing spilled, and even the consommé was secured properly, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the food itself didn't live up to expectations. The al pastor lacked flavor and was pretty dry. The consommé needed more depth, it just felt bland overall, tasted like a store bought beef broth. The birria tacos were decent, but nothing that stood out or made me want to order again. The biggest letdown for me was the sauces. None of them had any real spice or kick, which is surprising for a taco spot. They just fell flat. Overall, great packaging and delivery experience, but the food didn't hit for me. Probably wouldn't order again. Tacos here do not compare to how its down in the South. _________________ Updated: I am updating this after a bad night of having stomach problems. I was having sharp stomach pains after eating food from here all night. Thus my rate for this place went way lower. Would not recommend this to anyone. Could be an off day, but this should never happen if its good quality ingredients.

you can order for to go only. no table nor seats. i never get corn tortillas and will say i prefer flour ones and usually, the store will put double for one order of taco. their corn tortillas break easily and the meat which is asada and hongo were not dry, aka too much sauce. asada and hongo are just mediocre. prices are just ok. i just give three stars this time...

No words. Used my DoorDash credits from my auntie and every dollar was well spent here. I don't know how the Quesabirria tacos stayed so crispy during the 10 min drive to our hotel, but it did. Juicy meat and great ratio of cheese to meat. Consomé was up for par and still warm. Had bits of meat too, which I love to dig for. Radish and cooked onions on the side hit per usual. Pretty affordable and tasty. I miss being near this place...

I loved: Burrito Pollo I liked: Rice Pickled Carrots This was ok: Horchata The Burrito Pollo is excellent. Way better than average, with tender chicken, great flavor, and a balanced mix of ingredients that make each bite satisfying. The rice is solid, nothing too fancy but does its job. The pickled carrots bring a nice kick, leaning on the spicy side. The horchata was just okay, refreshing but a bit watery and not as flavorful as I hoped. We got everything to go, so no notes on service or ambiance this time.

The food is very good! The flavors are great! The steak burrito was pretty tasty and filling! The service by the employees was very attentive and the guy at the counter took the time to explain and recommend his favorites. The ambiance was chill, just a good eat to go for a quick meal but still real good. And they make their own tortillas! The salsas were really good but a bit watery.

So glad we found this place. To go orders only as it's connected to a liquor store and no actual sit down area. The food was made fresh to order and absolutely delicious we ordered street tacos, birria crispy tacos, rice and the queso and chips! The line gets long and it's fun to people watch while you wait for your food.

3.5 but rounding up. Conveniently right off the 8 bus route in Capitol Hill. I'm from SoCal and went to TJ quite often, so I am really into eating good tacos! It's good, but not super flavorful as I would like. No place to sit, so this is more of your take out place or eat standing up around the shop. The sauce wasn't as flavorful as I would like as well. I'm wondering if I came at an off night since everyone seemed to be enjoying their food and there was a long line.

The food was truly amazing and I got two because I thought it would be small portions but one dish already filled me up! He service was fast and I like how the space was open and didn't feel crowded.

Price 8/10 asada burrito 7/10 horchata 2/10. The horchata was very grainy, no flavor. I recommend this place but skip the horchata.

We have eaten there a few dozen times, bringing pals visiting the city, going literally every time we play a show on the strip-- everyone loves them. The tacos are my favorite, but the queso is dank as helllll making the nachos another fab dish. My partner loves the burritos and quesadillas, though I-- a lover of the crunch --cannot speak for them myself. Are there toothpicks in the tacos? Yes! Not only are these two, structural-support toothpicks clearly visible, there are signs all over the shop about not eating them, and whoever runs your food out mentions them to the table every time. Even the merch / tee shirts tell you to watch out for the toothpicks. Its like the toothpick in a club sandwich, or the stick in a corn dog: you kinda have to want to eat it to end up with it in your mouth, ya know? Are the tacos greasy? Also yes! They're deep fried! That is what happens when you put any pouch-style food in a deep fryer: if it is not perfectly sealed, as it will not be with a toothpick, it'll get some oil inside. If you're not into oily food, maybe deep-fried tacos just aren't for you? As for the folks bashing the service: its standard counter service. If you want table service-- someone to wait on you, come to your table for more than just a drop off, etc --this place isn't for you. I worked in kitchens for two decades. Nothing about Lupe's Situ Tacos is poorly made or lacking flavor-- all three options are unique and flavorful in their own right, but the hushwe is an aaaabsolute dream, and the cauliflower is such a fantastic meat-free choice. Prices are on par with a lot of taco-selling restaurants, so idk what folks are talking about on that front. Mayhaps worth remembering who usually writes reviews on these sites (people who go once and like to bitch vs those of us who actually eat here and don't like yelp conceptually)~

The hushwe meat? Excellent. The carnitas are "out of this world" (ant Cowboy Bebop fans?). The guacamole felt home-made in the best way. My partner's spicy chicken tortilla soup was delicious -- spicy but not too much so, with a lovely smoky note to it. The service was quick and cheerful. They let us hang out for a few minutes and write our reviews and finish our Jarritos -- even after close. The ambiance was great: colorful, cheerful, and energetic without being overwhelming. The playlist was eclectic and very cool. We heard Lupe Fiasco, Deltron 3030, and hip hop from around the world. If you find yourself wandering around Ballard looking for a satisfying, cozy meal, you cannot go wrong with Lupe's Situ Tacos!

She was dressed in the most beautiful Día de los Muertos-inspired makeup and outfit, and she brought such a warm, welcoming energy to the whole experience. It really made the meal feel special from the moment we walked in. She took our order herself and surprised us with complimentary conchas on the house, which was such a thoughtful touch. As someone who loves Mexican pastries, that instantly won me over. For food, I ordered the pozole and it was incredible rich, comforting, and full of flavor. My mom and sister got the fish tacos and they couldn't stop talking about them. Fresh, well-seasoned, and just really well done overall. This place made my mom's birthday lunch feel so memorable. Between the amazing food and the hospitality, we'll definitely be coming back for both the pozole and fish tacos again.
