It was surprising, since it always seems there is a lot of customers going in and out of their lot - so alot of people in the area like this place. Honestly wish I found this place sooner. I've lived in Carmel for over 2 years and it wasn't until 2 weeks ago that I tried it for the first time. Truly underrated. This is NOT Brick Oven Pizza. Went in there for a slice and they put it in the regular oven. Brick oven is not in working order.There toppings are not covered or stored properly and i saw flies flying Around the pizza as well. Pizza didn't taste that great and I've had better. Definitely a more expensive pizza place, great quality food though it's definitely worth the few extra bucks. I have only been here a few times, but I find that they have very well serviced workers who don't seem unhappy to be at work. It's a fairly small place, but definitely in a very populated spot. Good place to stop if you need a bite on the way home, or if you don't want to travel too far to get some good take out. Also they have specials everyday which are actually very worth it ex. I have never had an issue when ordering delivery EXCEPT when this same woman answers - she refuses to accept orders delivered inside apartment buildings. expects the customer to go out to the sidewalk in the rain to meet the delivery person face to face, which defeats the entire purpose of delivery. Just moved to Carmel and really enjoyed the food from Carmel Brick oven. We were planing on ordering from them tonight. Called them and was placed on hold. After waiting for about 5 minutes we thought we may have been disconnected so we called back and were met with a very rude hostess. As soon as she answered she said "I need you to give me a minute okay. I put you on hold before " with a very rude tone. I understand businesses are busy but I would have appreciated a "sorry for putting you on hold we are extremely busy. " The food is delicious. My wife and I moved during the pandemic, so sadly we've never actually been there in person. That being said, we've relied on this place for food during our transition. Delivery is quite fast and their policy of pay ahead and tip ahead has been great! The pizza is dropped off on the porch and I don't have to feel bad about not tipping he driver. They even go out of their way to accommodate my weird food requests (adding hot peppers to pepperoni rolls) l. Most places just cut open the roll and shove the peppers in. The pizza here is fantastic! I'm new-ish to New York and so I'm still in the honeymoon stage when it comes to the insane pizza this state has to offer, and there was a nearby place that had my heart, but recently they've deviated some and in an effort to find a new love, I decided to give this brick oven place a shot and I am so glad I did! The crust is just right, the sauce has a flavor that's a bit on the mild side (my preference) and isn't too overwhelming and the cheese is fantastic! I've only done delivery, which is usually my litmus test for greatness as a delivered pizza with the cheese still on the gooey melt-y side is a pizza I'll go back for time and time again and these guys seriously do not disappoint. Tried this place twice. The first time was during their first week open. I had simply ordered two slices and sat down to wait while the man behind the counter went on and on endlessly talking to everyone that came in about his daughter & the business, and basically ignored me while my pizza based away in the oven. I wanted to see how long it would take so I sat for another 15 minutes before I got up and walked out. I really didn't want that way - overcooked pizza at this point. Recently gave them another try because I like to support local business, but once again was dissapointed with a flimsy underdone pizza. Won't be trying them again. FYI residents, had the worst dinner of my life last night from Brick Oven Lake Carmel. Have been going there since they opened and they have been slowly progressing down hill. Ordered a pasta dish with meatballs and sausage also a salad with provolone and salami. Pretty basic! The meatball was dry and in my opinion breadcrumb with something holding it together! Obviously they also do not know the difference between angel hair pasta or capellini which is what was ordered. I guess we'll speak about the salad now, when you order provolone and salami on a salad that's what you should get figuring it's pretty basic. Big difference between provolone and mozzarella! My suggestion is to get a 99 cent box of pasta you desire with a jar of store-bought sauce! PS have fun dealing with the owner when trying to address the problem! Wow. For a new business these guys got it right. Whenever I try a new restaurant I run them through a couple of hoops to see if they are worth ordering from for repeat business. Something I do is I give a pretty detailed order just to see how on point the customer service is. Upon messing up my order, they ended up giving me an entire meat lovers pie and calamari for free. I was ecstatic that a local business, especially a new one at that understands the importance of customer satisfaction. These guys get it and will be my new pizza spot from now on over Gappy's and lake view. This is saying a lot since I have been a local for quite some time. Although the food was ok, I did not appreciate the way I was spoken to by the young female owner of the establishment. She was quite rude to me and my babysitter. She also charged extra money for every little thing... I ordered three chicken Parmesan subs. I asked that the chicken be separated from the bread, to avoid the bread getting soggy during transport. She charged me extra money to do that...per sub!! She told me that she had to pay for the packaging, so she had to pass that cost along to her customers. When I received the packaging, I thought it was overkill! Why did the bread need to be put in a Styrofoam container? It could've been placed in aluminum foil for goodness sake's! To turn the bread on my subs into garlic bread, she charged me an additional two dollars per sandwich. It was all pretty ridiculous. The rudeness was surprising as this is a new business in the area. This was the first time that I have tried this new pizza place. I'll stick to Redendos Pizzaria and other local restaurants that my family has frequented over the years. They actually appreciate their customers... this establishment is new to the area. They should really work on their customer service if they want to acquire new customers! Lastly, she didn't give the change to my babysitter and took an extra tip. She claims that my babysitter gave the money to her, but after all of her rudeness I am inclined to believe my babysitter. I always tip, but this time I had them bring the money back to my house. My babysitter is a sweet girl and no one should ever be rude to her or take advantage of her! The food was OK, however, the cheese melted like a plastic sheet over the chicken. I've never had that from any of the other restaurants in the area. Usually cheese melts more "naturally." read more

I moved to the area a year ago and thought I had tried out all the good pizza offerings in my area, but I am so disappointed and bored with them all. So last night I'm in the mood for great pizza and I google and get this place. This pizza knocked my socks off! I am a true food critic and can verify that this pizza is PERFECT! Thin crust with a nice crunch and wonderful fresh toppings! I had the mushroom and onion, and they were real fresh onions and mushrooms! Every other pizzeria uses canned, I don't get it. I have food sensitivities and can tell immediately when I'm getting cheap mozzarella (mixed with soy or other crap cheese) or dough that is loaded with preservatives, and I happily had no reaction. I normally do not eat more than two slices, but could not stop myself from eating a third. The pizza was still hot after 10 minutes of driving in the trunk of my car. I am happy to say they have just gained another customer and I have also shared with my friends so they can enjoy this little slice of pizza heaven on Rt. 52. read more
