First and foremost, Let me just say that Clint was an excellent Salesmen! My father and I have been to the Toyota in Oxnard all the way to a corner "used car" shop in north Hollywood, and Clint was by far the most comfortable and easy going salesmen we've ever come across. No pressure yet confident in the car he was selling. Now here comes the car, after spending some time test driving Honda Accords we decided to try and get a mustang, obviously a risky choice...USED V6 mustangs...Ford....Automatics...convertible... I was asking for inheriting problems as any person would. Especially that this car had aftermarket hood, wheels, fog lights, bumper, resonator and muffler yet no engine mods... all of that and Clint was very confident in selling me this car knowing my father was a mustang owner and we know a lil ways around a car. We test drove it, bought it at a very flexible and affordable price out the door. Now this is where people run into problems months into owning a car. I bought this car on April 26th 2020 and it is now December 10 2020. 102k miles bought and now near 120k. Used abused and relied on. People just do your oil changes, your brakes, spark plugs, battery checks, and don't drive like an idiot and your car should be fine. I never thought I'd get bank accepted to finance a car, but Clint helped me get accepted. My credit is shitty, but Clint found the perfect bank for me. After someone ran a red light and hit my car, I had my 2007 Mazda 3 declared a total loss, as was advised by the collision repair shop. I loved that car, and I wanted one just like it. I found my new (to me) car, a 2008 Mazda 3, with Carmerica on the carfax report website. Kevin was a great help, he checked in with me before I came and had the car parked up front when I arrived. He was very friendly and personable and made the buying process super smooth. They even offered a change of oil and car wash free of charge. Unfortunately they were closing when I came and I live a bit away, but I really appreciated the offer. I'm only taking a star off because of the car interior being dirty when they showed it (and sold it) to me. It's been my experience that most used car places, even small ones, will get the cars detailed to make them more appealing to the customers, especially if they know ahead of time that someone is coming to view the vehicle. He told me they did previously clean it, but there were crumbs in the back seat all over, the hidden cup holder tray in the back was filthy as if they didn't know it was there (it is hidden in the back rest after all), and there was an empty sprite bottle below the front passenger seat. I don't think the interior had ever been detailed once they received the car. The car also had a slight smoky smell, and I could tell this was not from the previous owner who had the car for several years, as the smell wasn't soaked into the car and the ash tray had small trace amounts of ash. I was told that the vehicle was lent to a friend recently, which was questionable and probably why the interior was in the state it was in. All that being said, I stand by my decision as the Carfax showed, despite the cosmetics of the interior, it was nothing that couldn't be vacuumed, the car was well-maintanenced and in good driving condition and almost identical to my previous Mazda with some added features, and the best part, the price was really decent! Overall it was a great buying experience and they answered all of my questions to the best of their knowledge. read more

We bought the truck about 5 months ago and I'm doing this review now because I wanted to make sure we didn't have any issues and we haven't. It's a small dealership but they are very sincere about what they tell you on their cars. The service was extremely good and they always answer my questions when I call back and they also called us to check in to make sure everything was going good with our truck. Today I called them because the front plates were missing when we bought the truck and my husband got pulled over for that so Kevin apologized and said he'll order the plates right away. So, they say don't believe 5 star or 1 star reviews, they are usually fakes or revenge. This review is a real, recent experience. I'll explain: Kevin, the salesperson, is very nice and attentive. He even took the vehicle that I was looking at all the way to my mechanic in Hollywood for inspection that I could trust. I was impressed by this. It's his time and gas. Of course, I paid for the inspection, so we both had something on the line. Anyway, I also spoke with Clint, the owner, on the phone. Both were professional and friendly in that sense. The problem is, they say that the vehicle has been inspected and everything fixed that needed to be fixed by their mechanics prior to putting it up for sale. But unfortunately, this can't possibly be 100% true. The car ended up needing all new shocks (all 4), needing 4 new motor mounts, (maybe could get away with 2), and needed a new valve gasket cover. This is about $1500 worth of repairs or more. Not something you want to have to do when getting a car that's new for you and already at Blue Book price. Of course, a 2011 car is not going to be perfect, but I think they could do better with disclosure and inspecting the vehicles prior to putting them up for sale. Me having to put a few hundred bucks in right away is not a big deal for a used car, but doesn't make sense to sell a car that needs $1500 worth of work or more. It's not a fully honest sales tactic when you say a vehicle is all inspected and in good condition, imho. One other small thing, there were still a lot of dog hairs in the car when I drove it. This really isn't THAT hard to get out and should be done before putting it for sale. So my experience was okay, but would have saved us all a lot of time and effort had a proper inspection of the car been done ahead of time and disclosed to the customer. Had that been the case, I would have left a great review even if I chose not to buy from them. Sucks to say, because I liked Kevin a lot as a person from what I could tell. Maybe they are just competing with a lot of schmucks and doing their best in a ruthless game, or maybe I'm just used to different business styles being from the midwest, but I don't think you can legit miss all shocks gone bad, for example. I actually wish them the best and think they could be a good business with the above mentioned changes. I myself, am EXHAUSTED from dealing with used car sales over the last week. Kevin and Clint were definitely far from the worst. But I think due to above mentioned issues and this place being the BEST of the ones I went to, I am going to end up just leasing a new car even though I didn't want to. Best of luck to all reading this and searching for a good used vehicle and to the guys at Carmerica as well--hope this feedback is valuable to all. I had been struggling with getting a new car. I was trying to save up so I could just go out and buy one but that just wasn't happening fast enough. I stumbled across first a Honda Accord. Gave them a call. They had me do an online application and with in an hour Clint had gave me a call back telling me I was approved for something even better, a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Unprecidented service! I got into a car accident that totaled my 2002 honda civic and needed a new one. Carmerica had a 2015 C-Max I was gaga over. I have close mechanic and body shop friends out in Culver City who I trust to give me the true true and not yank me around even though I'm a woman. Kevin and Clint were professional respectful and extra accomodating. Kevin drove out to me all the way in South Central LA so that I could see the car since I was carless. He had meant to take me back to the dealership but when I had a conflict he was not pushy and was accomodating. Since I only had liability insurance on my other vehicle but I wanted to have my guys take a look at the car (I don't easily trust car salesmen no matter how nice and non sleezy they are) Kevin jumped at the chance to drive the car from pasadena to my mechanic in culver city to take care of my needs as a customer. That is a big deal. They didn't charge me anything for my peace of mind. there were some tire noises and some suspension sounds that were present when I test drove the vehicle and they immediately had the issues looked at and taken care of. They care about the quality of the cars that they are selling and seem to be some of the few in the business with integrity. I didn't end up buying the car because my circumstances changed but If I ever need to buy used in Southern California again I'll be checking their inventory first. By the way.
