Super friendly dude, but unfortunately he didn't do a very good job with the alignment on my car. My husband went in because of all the amazing reviews and decided to try him out. He finished the job, and said that we would have a warranty, and that if there was any problems we could come in and he would fix it. After we drove it around a bit, we realized that the alignment was better, but still off. We came back a week later and asked him to fix the issue. He looked over the car and said the alignment was off because we had different tire brands on. Sure the brands might be different, but it's not like the shapes are. Maybe I'll try again before our warranty expires, and hopefully he will fix the issue. read more

Never coming here again. Went in for a simple oil change and got charged $50 for just the oil alone. Synthetic oil goes for $25 per 5 Quarts. I don't understand why he would charge double the amount. Unfortunately I'm on a tight schedule and wasn't able to refute it because I just needed the job done. Total cost for an Oil Change on a domestic car should not be $100. Lesson learned. Please learn from my mistake and ask for the price before getting the job done. I also got charged $10 for a small amount of coolant that was used to top off my reservoir. read more

I love going to this mechanic. Ban, the mechanic, is a very honest person. He will tell you what needs to be done to your vehicle. He won't pull anything over your eyes. If he sees that no work is to be done, then he'll tell you that nothing is to be done. I can recall a time when I was having problems with my 2002 toyota camry. I took it to Golden Star, and within a couple of hours, Ban fixed my vehicle. So far, there is nothing wrong with the car, only minor things like oil change and such. Another thing I love about this place is how he, Ban, rocks out with his drumset in the garage. He'll play a rock track and drum along with it. He says he loves doing it, and the other mechanics in the lot don't mind. You'll be surprised. I can say that his hourly rate can be a bit high, but I trust the man. Golden Star and Banh (the owner) has been fixing our family's cars for over 20 years. He has always been honest and fair with his prices. He's also very prompt and quick. He's a very hard worker and is not afraid to get dirty with his employees. You'll often find him doing many of the repairs and work. I've known Banh on long time. He's serviced all my cars and he stands by his work. His alignment prices are some of the lowest around and he has a 3D computerized alignment service that gets you in and out quickly. He is very knowledgeable with repairs that save you money. I almost took a car into the dealership when another mechanic said my car engine was losing power. Banh diagnosed the problem was with contaminated gasoline. I filled the car up with super unleaded and added a bottle of Techron. He saved me an unnecessary trip to the dealership. read more

The brakes and rotors on my small truck are good, and the price seemed fair enough. The $73.95 oil and filter change($58.27 parts + $10 labor + tax) for my small luxury car floored me, especially since the dealer has a special for $44.95 (Nissan Oil and Infiniti Filter) up the street. I guess there's good and bad in everything. I suggest that everyone always gets estimates in writing before giving the o.k. Lesson learned. read more

I saw one negative review here but many years ago. We all get frustrated at times and parking and things and finances are hard for everyone. If things are still the same Ban back then I know used a quality oil filter not group seven and virgin oil for his oil changes. Not all services are the same or parts. Ban is a good guy and let's face it vehicles are very complex with many designs and even if you have an AllData there are things that go wrong that aren't in the knowledge of a repair manual. I rarely give five star reviews. Recently was in an unfortunate situation in the evening with a nail in the tire, then on top of that the spare tire had run out of air as well. I passed this auto shop and saw that the mechanic (didn't get his name) in his shop. Although he was closed, he waited for me to drive the car from the gas station with a nail in the tire and fixed it. He took his time with his work and put air in the rest of the tires, including the spare. Price was reasonable and service was exceptional. Based on this experience, I would definitely recommend this auto shop and plan to bring my vehicle here for service in the future. read more

We have been going to Ban for over 10 years. He is honest and fair. He is the only one we trust with our cars. Recently we bought a 1968 Datsun roadster. He has been helping us refurbish it, helps us find good deals on parts so he doesn't have to have his guys order it and us pay extra. Fair, consistent, not the cheapest around.

Came here for an oil change and was helped by Ben. Service was quick done in like 30 minutes. He uses good synthetic Mobil oil instead of that cheap shit from like jiffy lube. Replaced the filter and topped off some of my fluids and offered to spray down the engine bay if you want. Cool guy, Vietnam vet and he has fish in his shop that actually follow you around in their tank. Will come again for my next service in 5k miles. Golden Star gets a 5 star. lol read more

I've been going here since I first learned to drive. My parents brought their cars to this shop since I was a little girl. Ban is very friendly, courteous, and professional. As I get to know him better, he is a factory trained mechanics who used to work in high prestige dealerships. He is skillful in making sure the diagnostic on my car is done properly and accurately. I appreciate the fact that he looked out for my interest in term of recommending what needs to be done, and when. He also recommended alternate solution to fix my car problems for cheap because he understand that I am a student. Just like everyone else, this man is try to make a living to support his family, so of course he can't compete with these big dealership special who are backed by investors. As a student, I do find his price to be reasonable with stellar workmanship. Haven't you heard "brand is not everything" and "what you pay is what you get"? I honestly thought these guys were pretty knowledgeable, honest mechanics at first when I used to come here; however, after the threats the owner/manager threw at me this morning for parking my car in their spot for a mere 3 minutes, I will never be coming here again. I parked in a parking spot reserved for Golden Star Auto Clinic to ask one of the mechanics the price of an oil change and walked on over to the store next door afterwards for a quick second in order to compare the two prices. Upon returning to my car, the owner began hurling inappropriate, offensive comments that were very unprofessional leading me to distrust his credibility in workmanship. He literally began to bawl at me with swear words here and there and threatened to "shoot my tires" just for parking there and walking a couple steps away from my car instead of walking into his shop. Sheesh.... I have never encountered such a person who is WORKING. As I left the plaza, the mechanic/manager of Golden Star Auto Clinic swore at me one last time, "F*** you". After witnessing the temperament of the worker at Golden Star Auto Clinic, I feel safe to say that I will never trust these guys' hands on my vehicle. read more
