He's the head creative there and mastermind architect behind the entire project. Jim is super pleasant, down to Earth, open to ideas, and infused his own creativity and passion into the project - caring for it as if it were his own. Katrina, however, is Carmody's best kept secret. You won't see her - she's in the office - but you'll feel her effort and work. She's your Point of Contact and does an absolutely tremendous job communicating. She provides real time updates, accurate insight, punctual information and is always accessible. Colin at Carmody Construction did a first rate job from the bidding process to the final clean up when it came to getting our roof replaced. The crew took great care to protect our garden and the relationship with our closeby neighbor (who is very particular about his lawn). They took great care to not damage our weather vane created by a local artist as well. Finally, the City of St. Charles inspector stopped in today for an inspection and said that it was a job that was well done. Quality work and at a good price too! Competing bids came in much higher or in some cases the quality of their work and materials was questionable. Thanks Colin for a great job! 7 years ago there was a hail storm that left our roof and siding damage. After months of research and consulting with neighbors we decided to go with Carmody and I was 100 satisfied with our new roof and siding. Fast forward to present day we had another bad storm hit our house that left a couple shingle in our front yard. I reached back out to Carmody Construction and Brad the site manager had a crew out within days to repair the roof. Within an hour the roof was completed. Carmody Construction has a customer for life. I cannot speak for anyone else but every experience with these guys have been pleasant and they continue to do nothing but great work. We had a new roof put on, and had the old one removed. They did a fantastic job of installing and cleaning up. BUT we now have a leak in our sky light! They have been out once to repair but after last rainfall, it is leaking again on our kitchen floor! No prior leaks in skylight prior to new roof install. Waiting on more repair. Don't waste your time trying to use Carmody Construction. Called Carmody on Friday, Dec. 1 around noon looking to schedule a roof inspection on our 11-year old home. Woman who answered said everyone was out on a job but they check in regularly so someone will call me back later that day or the next morning (Saturday). No call for four days. Finally on Tuesday evening I get a call. We schedule the appointment for him to come out that Friday (Dec, 8) after 3:00. He says if the weather doesn't cooperate Friday they would come Saturday instead. Either way, he'll call about an hour before he arrives. I told them that was fine, I'd be home Friday afternoon and Saturday. Friday comes, weather is beautiftul (chilly but not a cloud in the sky). Nobody shows up all afternoon or evening. Nobody calls. Same thing Saturday. I've never heard from Carmody Construction again after setting up the appointment. What a horrible way to do business. Slow to call back. Then schedule an appointment and just don't show or ever call. I wanted to use a local business but when they're this incompetent and unprofessional it makes it impossible. read more

I have used carmody construction for a couple of projects at my house. Started by having them supply and install new windows. Ryan was very informative about the different brands, grades and materials of windows. Was able to come up with a great solution and install went very quickly with no disruption to our day to day home activities. Had carmody come back to remodel a mudroom and to add a small guest bath this winter. From design to construction, the process was seamless. The improvements that carmody has made to our home over the past couple of years has made our home much more efficient and functional, and we couldnt be happier. Carmody Construction was great for me! I had two large picture windows framed with a window on each side. The sales guy came out, completed a quote, educated me on the different types of windows, and helped me acquire a "no interest for 6 months" credit card to pay for the work. I was to have a huge pig roast 3 months from the estimate date, and told him I would need to know that these windows would be installed by the date of the party. Carmody Construction stayed true to their word. The installation was done well and on time. I am saving a lot of money with my gas and electric bill that they will have paid for themselves by this time next year. I plan on using them again when I get a few more windows replaced. I have recommended them to others and will again! read more

In 2015 we got hit by a bad storm and needed new siding due to the storm damage...we had heard through friends of Carmody construction and decided to contact them. They promptly came to our home for an estimate and got the job started and done just as fast...beautiful job and great people to work with. We were very happy and satisfied with their work! Worst company ever. They took our deposit and did not do the job yet. They promised to complete the job in 2015 and did not doit and now refusing to give out money back. Carmody messed up our siding and will not fix it. They do not stand by their word. I would never recommend them.

We signed a contract with Carmody in Oct 2015, after 10 months & two vacations taken by them, we finally got our project completed. There were several bumps throughout the project and we constantly had to be contacting them to find out what was going on since they hardly kept us in the loop of where things stood. Several items had to be re-done due to the poor workman ship. We were surprised to see how things were installed and you'd think that if it was done poorly the contractor would fix it prior to the homeowner contacting them; they must have thought that we wouldn't say a peep and expect us to just be content with it. We kept on telling them that their communication skills needed to improve since we felt as if we were left on the back burner while other of their projects took priority and in the end their communications skills did improve, but only when it was time to collect the final payment. In all honestly, I wouldn't recommend Carmody Construction, I felt that this project (roof, siding, gutters, downspouts) should have been completed allot sooner than 10 months since our friend's built a house from the ground up in less than 6 months. read more
