Very impressed with my first visit to D'Angelo's! I was in town for the Princeton graduation…read morefestivities, and we stopped here for lunch following the ceremonies. D'Angelo Italian Market is located a few blocks away from the Princeton campus. It is a corner store with some street parking around, along with a parking garage right across the street. I have been told parking is strictly enforced by the city around here, so make sure to pay for street parking when you go. The inside is that of an Italian deli and market, but more. There is seating inside, and also some outdoor tables. There is not table service, but you order at the counter and then can enjoy your meal. We had a part of 7, and were able to push a few tables together inside to eat. They have a ton of deli options, but also have baked goods, breads, and pizza slices that you can buy from the counter. Additionally, there is a large menu of other food items that are made to order. There are also cooler drinks to choose from. The staff were all so friendly. It appears they know their frequent customers, and they greet them as they come in. Though I was a new customer, I felt welcomed and thought all of my questions were answered in a kind manner. We ordered several items, with one being the Eggplant Rollatini for an appetizer. This was so good, as I love eggplant in Italian dishes. It was filled with cheese, but still crispy and delicious even in all the sauce. We ordered more rolls than what is on the menu since we had several people. Additionally, we sampled several of the pizza slices - Margherita Pizza, Parmigiana Pizza, Vodka Sauce Pizza. I enjoyed each of them. The crust is thin and crispy, as you would expect from a place like this. They were all good, but the classic Margherita was probably my favorite. For my sandwich, I got the Turkey Supreme Hero. It was really good and had a ton of meat on it. I love a good turkey sandwich, and this was exactly that. After seeing what the sandwiches on the rolls looked like, I probably would have gotten that instead of the Hero. Nonetheless, it was still very good. Our table got some other items, like the Princeton Tiger Hero, Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries, and a Pepperoni Roll. No one had anything they did not enjoy. Did not get the chance to try either the desserts or any of the all day breakfast items. The next time I visit, I would definitely want to try some of those menu items! Like I said, I very much enjoyed my first visit to D'Angelo's. Everything was delightful, the staff were very friendly, and I enjoyed the atmosphere of the shop. I hope to visit again next time I am in the area. Would highly recommend stopping here!

What i love most is the service - everyone is Italian and they speak Italian to during breaks - very polite, friendly, fast, and they know how to build a sandwich. This place is worth 100 stars - must try for anyone looking for real Italian food for now or to heat up for dinner.

At first, walking in gave me a wave of nostalgia because it reminded me of the Olives I used to visit in New York City. While it's not the same restaurant, this one absolutely stands on its own. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, and my husband had a kale salad loaded with vegetables and all kinds of good things like pecans, carrots, red cabbage, chick peas and more...he loved it. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and you could tell the quality of the ingredients was a priority. The pricing was also very reasonable, especially for how good the food was. We took our meals to go and walked down the street to a picnic table, which made for a perfect, relaxed lunch in Princeton. Great food, great value, and a spot I'd happily return to. There were also some really good desserts to pick from as well, but I passed them up. Pro tip... there can be a line to order your food during busy times of the day.

We just tasted it and skipped the rest . Open face Mediterranean sandwich was a tad better. Bread was well toasted and veggie filling n balsamic added some flavor n texture . The side chickpea salad was not bad . Seemed to have good walk in traffic but everybody had some delays or some kind of issue with the food . Maybe it was a bad day for the staff . Ambience was bright and nice with additional outdoor seating . Service was slow and not very hygienic. When we shared feedback about the missing veggies in the veggie sandwich , the hostess was understanding and apologized. Offered a complimentary dessert which we refused as I did not find the baked good appetizing ( given the flies that we noticed ) There is street parking and few spots at the back of the building Overall not a place I would return. We left the place a bit hungry .

It is a busy downtown New Brunswick and I walk there so you might have some challenges finding parking. It was a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't very busy. I utilize the takeout which is on the main level, but it does look like there is seating on the upper level. Once I got back to my hotel and started to enjoy the meal, I realized that this was not the traditional Greek Gyro that I have been accustomed to. The flavor of the meat is not the same nor the construction of the sandwich. Overall, I would say it is decent, but if you are looking for the traditional Greek Gyro experience, this is not it.

Won't eat here again, they accept EatStreet.Com Online ordering for pick-up orders (not delivery)…read morethat overcharge customers through massively inflated menu price mark-ups. I ordered a chicken and lamb kabob and Baba Ganoush and thought it was a family size meal based on the price, which was $62 plus I added an $8 tip. It wasn't even enough for two people. The Eat Street online website charged a 1.49 service fee but that didn't include the massive markup on each menu item they took somewhere between 4-and 8 dollars per item. When I showed the restaurant server the mark-up (there was no manager available) she confirmed this online ordering service was marking up each meal item. Efe's is aware of this online ordering service (according to Eat Street's Website and terms of service, every merchant must execute an order form for services with Eat Street). The only other comment from the server was that I hoped I enjoyed the meal, even though I was fleeced by paying inflated menu prices (and resulting taxes and tip) by over $21 for a restaurant pick up take-out order using this online EatStreet.Com ordering pick-up website that Efe's appears to be under contract with. If manager responds they are getting rid of EatStreet.com and/or the marked up commissions for in the EatStreet website will consider updating my current 1 star rating.
