The side chickpea salad was not bad . Seemed to have good walk in traffic but everybody had some delays or some kind of issue with the food . Maybe it was a bad day for the staff . We found this place on a visit to Terhune Orchards and couldn't be happier that we did. It was hard to choose from all the wonderful sounding choices on the menu but settled on the chicken Milanese sandwich and the Kennedy (roast pork and mozzarella on garlic bread). The chicken and pork were cooked to perfection and the bread was fresh-baked, with a great crunch and chew! Fresh mozzarella was an excellent complement to the savory meat. Our side of sweet potato fries was another real treat - crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside. At the counter, Lynn was welcoming, helpful and patient answering our questions as we worked thru the menu and eventually came to our choices. Lovely family owned and run cafe just a short walk outside of the bustle of campus and downtown Princeton. I had lunch with three kids under 12 and they loved the choices, they went with chicken fingers, quesadillas, and a made from scratch pizza. Delizioso Bakery & Kitchen is a scratch bakery and cafe on Witherspoon Street, Princeton, NJ. It has a small dining area divided by high glass display cases, with preparation area behind the side wall of the shop. Within that display were many stunningly beautiful pastries competing for attention. The menu deals in breakfast and lunch, and as I was there at about 10:00 a.m., I perused the morning menu. Prices were higher than on the Yelp menu, and I immediately knew this was going to be a true Princeton meal, where cost is just part of the community's ethos. The real question was; would it be worth it? The empirical answer was; certainly so! I ordered the Breakfast Wrap. Not only was it stuffed with scrambled egg, but it also contained plenty of crisp bacon, and melted cheese. Most impressively, the wrap itself was made from scratch on the grill, and not from a plastic bag. As a result, it was thicker than any I had experienced before, with more texture and flavor. It was so good that it would have been acceptable as a crepe in its own right with a little sugar and cinnamon or fruit preserves. A full side of home fries accompanied the wrap. These taters were cut into small cubes, baked/pan fried with sautéed onion and roasted red pepper slices. Excellent! There was enough for two here, and I really couldn't finish. The quantity surprised, but the quality delighted! I just wish I had room for a sampling of their sweets. Lin & Eric were wonderful hosts. Grabbed lunch here recently and enjoyed my meal! The menu was pretty varied, with both breakfast and lunch options available. I decided to get a sandwich (the Mamma Mia) while my friend got the Hungry Man breakfast platter, so we covered both ends of the spectrum :) There was both indoor and outdoor seating, but since the weather was so nice, it was a no brainer to sit outside. The food was prepared pretty quickly and the busser was accommodating (brought us chipotle mayo and hot sauce for our meals), so no complaints there. My sandwich was good! I've ordered their French toast multiple times, and have received moldy fruit on multiple occasions for the top of the French toast. Absolutely unsafe and unacceptable. One of the times when I ordered online for pickup, I get a phone call from a lady with a nasty attitude who said "you paid ____ for Nutella French toast!!! Nutella French toast costs more!!!!" Well that's your job to ensure your online prices are correct, not mine. They are condescending when you order in person as well. It's sad when you try to support a small business and they act like they're doing you a favor by serving you. We've been going to Delizioso Bakery and Kitchen now for a little over 2 years (since they opened), and it's my favorite, local place to order lunch or breakfast! Lynne is super accommodating to my crazy dietary requests - I telephone them and my order is waiting! We love going there and are always treated like family. I especially love the soups in the winter, the Mama Mia sandwich (which I split with my husband), and all the advertised new items on their menu! Lynne, Eric, and their daughters, Ilysa and Carly, are very warm and friendly, and I love how complimentary they are of their restaurant staff! (We've come to know Jason, one of the main chefs in the kitchen!) We love that this place is a block from our home and is somewhere where I can always pop in for a dessert treat or there delicious Caesee salad with grilled chicken! I had avocado toast and asked for eggs over medium they were runny with uncooked egg whites I had to wipe out of my dish with a napkin. My sister had an egg sandwich with a stale Rolland my mom had an omelet but the bread looked like store bought rye not freshly baked. We asked for dry toast and there was butter on the toast. The food here is exceptional (especially lunch) and Lynn and Alyssa create a warm, family feel environment that has the locals dropping in for a coffee, a pastry and a chat. This place came up and I gave them a call to make sure they actually had bagels. They did, told me they had a few left.
