I want to sincerely thank Dr. Facison for her kindness and patience over the past few months with my cat, Simsim. He had a rough time, but she guided me through every step and provided helpful recommendations. As an anxious cat mom, she was always reassuring and helped ease my worries. I highly recommend Carnegie Hill Veterinarians! I also want to give a special thank you to Ruby at reception for always being welcoming and kind. My cat is always treated well, and every visit is a great experience!

Arnold was around 20 when he died. Carnegie took good care of him for Furry Paws. We miss him in the window. 11/09/18

Carnegie Hill Vets takes care of my friends pets. I've seen the care and the experience exhibited. My friends are all pleased. It's a shame to say but my friends are like me, we're aging. Having their pets for 18-20 years in some cases is not unusual. The Carnegie Hill Veterinarians are perfect at handling the emotional needs of the pet and the owner. It's a delicate situation. Kindness and assistance is helping and caring. If you live nearby I recommend you use this veterinarian. You can make your own decision no matter what the age or needs of your pet. A pet is like family. Expense should not be a factor. I hear they have medical insurance for pets now. If I could afford or had the desire to own a pet I would sure get some insurance if it's available!

I adopted the sweetest pit mix from the shelter, and took her in to this vet. We had two experiences in our 6-8 visits here that really are disgraceful. There is of course the usual issue with poor customer service by Jonathan, who is rude. The first real problem happened with our visit with dr. Brenda Wiesman. Cocoa had a severe ear infection and needed her ears looked at. Now Cocoa does get anxious at vets, and she has a traumatic past, but she doesn't bite and she isn't aggressive in the slightest. Dr. W came in and took one look at her, and said because she was a pitbull she had to be muzzled. Just because of her breed. I'm not against muzzling when ABSOLUTELY necessary, but muzzling a dog just based off its breed? When we tried to muzzle her, they held my dog down, forced the muzzle on and then dragged her by her collar across the floor, choking her while she cried out. Her eyes were red and bulging and she couldn't breathe. I asked them kindly to PLEASE be more gentle. At this point I just wanted my dogs ears taken care of.They ended up cleaning out the ears, but now my dog is so traumatized that if she even sees a muzzle she'll cry and run away. Along with this episode, I've had several other vets say things about pitties that are simply not true. Such as all pitbulls are violent. I switched doctors and for our other visits we saw Dr. Karla Kovach. While doctor Kovach has a rough demeanor and can be condescending, it didnt matter because she really was kind and gentle with my dog, and understood her trauma and didn't force a muzzle, even with one vet saying "you want to be bit by a pitbull!" While Cocoa was just standing there. Dr. Kovach seemed great and I was happy we found a vet who was kind to Cocoa: that is until about three weeks ago. Cocoa developed a limp, and I promptly brought her in to be checked. I was told to activity restrict her and bring her in a week later, which I did. When I brought her in a week later, still lame in her right leg, I brought my friend who is a vet tech. She immediately remarked on how rude dr. Kovach was, but I explained that as long as she was competent and good with Cocoa I didn't care if she was rude to me. Cocoa got her x rays done, and I made it clear I was fine with sedating cocoa if needed, but Dr. Kovach didn't think it was necessary, which I initially appreciated. The real issue here is after. Dr. Kovach told me that the x rays showed possible cancer. My vet friend saw the x Ray, and remarked to me separately that they seemed blurry. I, regrettably, ignored her. I was devastated to hear that my baby, after all she had been through, might have aggressive bone cancer. Dr Kovach sent the x Ray out to double check. I heard back from her the next day, and was told that it was most likely bone cancer, likely osteosarcoma and I needed to bring cocoa in for Cancer testing and treatment immediately. I was devastated. I brought cocoa in to blue pearl, and spent over $3,000 on testing. My fiancé and vet friend came with me on that day. They asked me if I would like to retake the x rays, and the surgeon we met with remarked that the x rays seemed a little blurry but as they stood it was concerning. After a day of imaging and testing, it came out that her bone was perfectly healthy and all she had was a CCL tear. I've since been to different vets and had many other x rays done and none have shown any sign of bone cancer or concern. When I called to ask why such a thing would happen, I was told rudely by Dr. Kovach that her x rays were "perfect" and that she did nothing wrong. Maybe that's the case, but the fact that her one x ray showed incorrect information off a blurry scan, and five other scans show nothing of the sort is terrifying and really an egregious error on her part. They showed absolutely no remorse or understanding when I called to try and understand how this could have happened, and I actually was yelled at so much that I ended up almost crying (I'm not very tough). The fact is, based off her scan that was blurry (told to me by multiple vets) and that showed something that wasn't there, Cocoa could have almost lost her leg had I not insisted on redoing the tests. I lost a lot of money, and ended up having to drive Cocoa to Vermont to have her TPLO surgery because I couldn't afford it here in nyc. I spoke to the surgeon there, who was FANTASTIC, and he said that what this vet office has done is so medically negligent that he was shocked. And he reviewed all the scans, including the original one by Dr.Kovach. While I am sure they did not do the scan wrong on purpose, it is still an dangerous and outrageous error, and their continued defense when I kindly asked about it and there subsequent treatment of me and prior abuse of of Cocoa by other doctors just shows me that this whole institution is shady and rude to animals, (especially vulnerable pitbulls) and people. And not only that, but they are medically incompetent in a way that is inconceivable.

Dr. Facison and her team are amazing. They are kind, thoughtful and thorough. They are not a factory, corporate feeling vet office.

They got my boy in for an appointment quickly, treated him gently (he is wildly anxious in the best of circumstances), and they treated me gently, too (also wildly anxious in the best of circumstances). They were clear, communicative, and Dr. Macri ensured I fully understood what was happening with my little friend and what next steps were. A week later, Gomez is back to normal. I know what to watch for, and if (god forbid) anything else happens, I'll be heading back to MHPH with full confidence my dog will be treated with kindness, compassion, and the best veterinary care available. Thank you to the doc and the entire staff. We are so lucky to have you!

Dr. Dougherty and his team are seriously the best. If you have any type of cat, sphynx, regular cat, whatever, I highly recommend you take them here. They have a love for cats and their care for them shines through. Their office is beautiful and well run, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and their bedside manner is second to none. Dr. Dougherty let me dump my anxiety on him and talked me through every one of my concerns, in layman's terms that also came with a huge amount of confidence. He was not trigger happy to run any tests and really gave me the pros and cons of every test and was completely upfront with pricing. When it came time for the dreaded rabies vaccination, not one of my (admittedly, very easy going) cats even flinched. I have a Sphynx breed and for some reason other vets seem to hem and haw at what he's dealing with, Dr. Dougherty didn't bat an eye and seemed to be able to communicate with Morrie on a feline level. I am truly blessed to have Dr. Dougherty and his team in my cat's corner, because I know with them, my cats will always have the best medical care. On a slightly irrelevant note (but to me equally as important), Dr. Dougherty treats his coworkers and techs with such respect and kindness, I was truly inspired.

So I called Midtown, and Dr. Suchanek let me come in immediately. And he could not have been lovelier -- let me sit and cuddle Mouse for the last time before the procedure, gave me as much time as I needed with him, then was so incredibly kind afterward... And his prices are shockingly reasonable, especially for Manhattan! Since then I've taken my younger cat in as well, and the doc has been really calm and thorough -- I've never felt rushed -- and he even called several times after, to check on how Scamp was doing. Also, it may seem like a small thing, but the office is clean, pretty, and peaceful. And even when I was terribly upset, the staff was super nice and patient. I've been to several other vets (and, lately, chains) in my decades of being a pet owner, and this is the first time I've wanted to write a review, because I'm just so grateful to have found them!

Called this place after doing an extensive search for a decently rated pet ER (not many around me). I am so thankful there is at least one, and they're open 'round the clock. She was awesome. Thorough and caring. While nothing appeared to be an evident emergency, my cat was clearly suffering from something hurting him. Recommended course of action seemed slightly excessive, but this vet truly stepped up to help me out. I consented to an xray, which indicated constipation.
