    Sopes flight

Absolutely loved it. I ordered the sopes flight and it was delicious. . The owner, Daniel, was incredibly welcoming. Victor, who works there, was super kind and attentive, great service all around. The space itself is beautiful: colorful decorations, a huge bar in the back that's perfect for hanging out, and even a small shop selling Mexican trinkets, which was such a fun touch. Amazing food, great vibes, and wonderful people. Can't wait to come back!

I learned about Carnitas Cochiloco through an app called Too Good To Go. I was under the impression that this app was for restaurants looking to reduce food waste by offering surprise bags of leftover food at a discount. When I saw a surprise bag labeled as a "hidden gem" at this location, I decided to purchase it. The listed value of the bag was $21, and I was charged $7.99. Based on that, I was expecting generous pint-sized portions of beans, rice, and chile verde carnitas...leftovers, essentially. However, when I arrived, I was told they would be preparing my meal fresh. That surprised me, since I thought I was getting pre-prepared surplus food. When they handed me a typical to-go box, I was disappointed by how small the portion was--especially the carnitas, which were very liquidy. Once I got home, I checked their menu and saw that the meal I received is priced at $17, not $21. So not only was the value overstated, but even at $17, the portion still felt underwhelming. The plate came with 4 soft corn tacos that came nice and warm, which was a plus! You could stretch the chile verde, beans and rice just barely to make the 4 tacos. My Yelp rating reflects the mismatch between the promised value and the actual quantity of food. It honestly felt more like a marketing strategy to get people into the restaurant rather than an effort to reduce waste. That said, the flavor was good, and the interior of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. When I walked in around 7 PM on a Monday, it was completely empty--I actually thought it was closed because of that. I was really annoyed when I left and was ready to give a really low star rating, but I bumped it up slightly because the food tasted good, and I didn't want to be completely unfair. Still, the experience left me feeling duped, and that definitely impacted my overall impression

The food was honestly not very good at all. We were charged a $10 cover charge each even though we just stayed to eat and not long enough for the "live music" to start (we arrived a full 1.5 hours before the music even started). They forced a poor hostess on her first day to take orders when she had no idea what was going on (she was very sweet and it was not her fault! management's fault). Were not given a drink menu and had to guess. We're not given what we ordered (got red sauce instead of green on tacos, got 1 egg instead of 2, etc). The flautas were TAQUITOS. DO NOT ORDER. Beans were worse than even from a grocery store can. We went because of the good reviews but honestly it was NOT good. The red sauce was gross. Chips for chilaquiles were SOGGY soup.

First time visitors and it won't be our last. The food was phenomenal. We always drive by this place and wasn't quite sure because of the exterior. But WOW The inside is gorgeous and everyone is welcoming and kind. But the food is mind blowing! We had the Al pastor wings, the carnitas plate, the birria taco, carne asada taco and the chila-taco! Everything was full of flavor and the carnitas melt in your mouth Do yourself a favor and come eat here.

Carnitas Cochiloco has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants. The first time I went I had their flautas. Best flautas ever! They are crunchy and crispy but not hard. The toppings add so much flavor. I had a side of rice and beans. Again best beans ever. I believe they add chorizo because the beans have a hint of spice. I loved the flautas so much we went back a few weeks later. I was not disappointed the second time. The flautas were just as good. My fiance ordered the carnitas mac & cheese and he really enjoyed it. We recently ordered online their 3 lbs carnitas package for a small family gathering. I have eaten carnitas plenty of times in my lifetime. My family is from Michoácan so we eat carnitas often. The carnitas from Carnitas Cochiloco are the best carnitas I've ever had. They are flavorful, juicy, not dry at all. My entire family loved the carnitas. The restaurant decor is colorful and fun. On our second visit the owner actually showed us around, gave us a bit of information on the restaurant and events they have. If you haven't been here you definitely need to try this place. I cannot wait to go back.

Loved the new brick and mortar location. What stood out was the courtyard. It was like an oasis. I ordered the carnitas Mac and cheese. I thought it was delicious and not overly greasy. Staff was great. Highly recommend.

I did a take-out plate the other day and it was so good!! The server was very polite. The place seems nice and kind modern.

They are going to start selling meat by the lb. Which i think is great. I'm enjoying their cusine and combinations. Do glad they are down the street from me. Family owned super friendly and the place looks amazing. Plenty of seating so whether you're dining alone or having a group event.... try them! Daily specials too follow them on IG!

Arrived on a Thursday evening about 5pm and there were a few other tables seated. Service was friendly and quick. We ordered tacos de birria, chill-tacos and rice and beans. Also guac and chips. The guacamole was freshly made and a huge serving. The salsa isn't spicy but well made. Food could all use some salt but other than that very good. The atmosphere was great-you can tell it's decorated with love. Our server didn't write down our order and got a couple things mixed up but we didn't bring it up. Overall a good experience for a new restaurant.

We stopped in on a Sunday for lunch and it was AMAZING! We got the pork belly appetizer and the carnitas plate, the flour tortillas were so good. We will definitely be back! The environment was cute and our waitress was very nice. 10/10 recommend

I'm so happy for them to get a location now. They were a good truck but now have a physical location! I'm so glad I got to come here a couple of times and try so much food. Everything I have got to try was great. That carnitas Mac and cheese, soooooo good. Their Agua frescas were to die for. But their fried ice cream my lanta, I was expect like most places were it's like a small little scoop with a lil whip and chocolate but noooo it's not. It's a huge scoop, fried correctly each time, and presented beautifully. There is also a brunch menu too which is good, got to try their concha French toast which was perfect with all the fixings on it. They are still growing too! They have a lil store on the inside when you walk in, a new patio, doing some work on the other side for a bar (which we can't wait to see finished) and of course adding specials and such. Can't wait to come back to have more delicious food and see what new things come to them!

I don't live on this side of town anymore, but happened to be here and wanted tacos. There are a bunch of taco places, but I seen this spot on the map near me, plus I've never been so we hit it up. This place did not disappoint, the outside doesn't do the inside justice, it is modern and cute, had a little section where they sell "souvenirs", a patio, and a bar in progress. Friendly staff, easy dine in or take out choices and of course most importantly we liked our food and drinks. A new gem worth checking out, we will be back.

My friend had to leave it up front or put in her car. She opted to leave it up front at host stand, but that could have easily been forgotten. I haven't had too many places not allow insulated water bottles, especially a cafe, it's not a fancy place. I carry water everywhere I go in the summer, so just a heads up if you do also. We ordered breakfast and from lunch menu. And we shared our food. We also split the cinnamon roll. It was big and plenty for 2 people but just okay, I've enjoyed cinnamon rolls elsewhere more. I likely wouldn't order again, but was good to try it. I ordered the Ruben which was very good and I also liked the machaca and eggs. It was fun to see massive pancake delivered to another table. That thing is the size of a large pizza. I love pancakes and it's one of the few items that when I make at home are never as good as diners & breakfast restaurants so when I come back here, I'll have to order one and give that extra star if they are fluffy and yummy since the cinnamon roll fell a little short. I also would get my coffee elsewhere as it's a bit basic at henhouse-- it's just cold brew with okay tasting flavored creamer or iced coffee option (hot coffee poured over ice, I definitely didn't want that).

So far, we've been able to try different places during each visit. I came across Wildberries while researching breakfast spots and saw that they had good reviews. We were there on a weekday for a late breakfast. The place is popular. While they were doing a brisk business, I can only imagine what it must be like on the weekends. Upon entering, we were immediately seated and greeted. It's clear from looking at their decor and menu (they also serve lunch) that it is a Greek-owned place. They have daily specials written on a portable sign board, and they take it from table to table so diners can see what's on special that day. Our only complaint was that service was very slow. Our server took our order after we looked at the signboard. I ordered a daily breakfast special that consisted of cinnamon French toast, 2 eggs (I chose over easy), and a choice of meat (I chose bacon). My husband ordered Eggs Benedict off the regular menu. It consisted of two poached eggs with Hollandaise sauce and hash browns. To drink, I had lemonade, and my husband had orange juice and coffee. Like all the other customers, we had a long wait for food. It had us wondering if the back of the house was short-staffed. When the food finally came out, we both enjoyed our meals. The cinnamon French toast was so good on its own that I forgot about the syrup that accompanied it. The eggs were cooked perfectly. My husband enjoyed his Eggs Benedict. Wildberries is in a small strip shopping center, and parking is tight. If you are heading west on Baseline, you have to make a left at the light at S. Ext Street, then a left into the lot. The mimosas were honestly one of my favorite parts because they had so many different fresh juice flavors to choose from instead of just the typical orange juice. It made the experience feel way more fun and customizable, and you could actually taste how fresh the juices were. Every mimosa we tried was refreshing and super easy to drink. My husband and I found this place online, and it looked like a great spot for brunch. When we arrived, there was no one at the hostess stand, and it took quite a while for anyone to acknowledge us. When the hostess finally came over, we asked for a table for two. She immediately told us there was only outdoor seating available and didn't even mention that waiting for an indoor table was an option. Keep in mind, it was 110°F on a Sunday in Arizona. My husband had really been looking forward to trying this place, so we asked what was available and decided to stay. We were seated outside near the entrance. Shortly afterward, we watched the hostess tell other guests who arrived after us that indoor seating was available with only a 5-minute wait. Why wasn't that option offered to us? We absolutely would have waited. Unfortunately, the hostess's attitude and the way the situation was handled completely changed the experience for us. It left us feeling unwelcome, and we weren't able to enjoy our meal the way we had hoped. The food may have been fine, but customer service is a huge part of dining out, and this experience overshadowed everything else. Safe to say, we won't be returning. An unfriendly and dismissive environment is not something I'm interested in supporting.

The breading was sopping wet and made eating it so unpleasant. The worst part was I paid 18$ for it, with a side of chips(fries would have been more). I was very disappointed. Their whole menu is honestly overpriced. Kind of disappointing what's become of this place. Edit: wasn't sure how to reply to the owner's comment, but I did eat it there, and the very first bite the sandwich fell apart. Honestly, I couldn't taste the fish at all, the flavor from the oil overwhelmed everything else. And you're right I have no problem paying more for quality, but at least for this sandwich it wasn't there.

The waiting was the worse part because it was all uphill from there. In the half hour of waiting though, we were able to get counter service which was nice because everyone wanted coffee, lattes, water and drinks. Everyone at least for our wait was happy about that. Our servers were amazing and made some awesome suggestions about pancakes. My mom loved the blueberry pancakes and we loved the churro ones. We also had the yummy avocado toast. Dad tried the suggested chilaquiles and they also were really good. Anyway, our meals were really amazing and we loved our time and food there. It was pretty packed when we arrived so it seems like the locals also know how wonderful this place is. The bathrooms are beautiful and clean! Plenty of Parking was available. They truly made our day amazing and our celebration of my nephew graduating from Arizona State University complete. Thank you everyone!

I was debating between the chilaquiles and the chorizo y papas burrito. I got the chilaquiles before and had very little meat and only one egg, and the waitress talked me into getting the burrito, so I did. Chorizo y papas burrito was very dry. Both the hot sauces they brought were not my favorite so I was really struggling making the burrito moist. The fries inside tasted old and brittle. My fruit that came with it was not all ripe but was okay. The ricotta scramble toast my friend got was fine, she wished the bread had been more crunchy as it was hardly toasted and she could cut through it easily with a knife, kind of limp and soggy. And she said the chili oil was pretty spicy, but she knew that going into ordering it, so I won't dock points for that! Overall it was fine. Not blown away especially for the price.

4/11/26: wonderful food, friendly & attentive staff, very colorful decor inside. Their part of a…read moresmall strip mall & they share dining space (and the kitchen?) with the taco place next door. While we were dining, it got very busy & as we were wondering where everyone was going to sit, people started walking through the glass door between the two eateries. Drinks: lots of choices. We opted for the $16 horchata flight (flan, strawberry, mocha, espresso). The former two were my favs because I don't like coffee, but my sister def enjoyed the latter two. Food: hefty breakfast sandwich w/ sausage, cream ala creme (biscuit & fruit), BHH French toast w/ bacon. The sammy was made w/ three eggs so it was a large sammy, kinda messy. I think they need to spread out the eggs a bit more so they cover more space & don't slip out from between the bun as easily. The hashbrowns were perfectly crispy. The French toast was also a hefty serving, especially w/ the bacon tacked on. The biscuit came out w/o the whipped cream, but the young gentleman quickly brought it out when I pointed out it was M.I.A. It was not as sweet as I was expecting; not sure I'd get that again. Service: great. Order at the counter, get a number, sit down, & it's brought to you -- and it was brought out very quickly. There's only one register but as people kept piling in & crowding the front door, the young dude who served us was fast to assist & soon came out w/ a tablet to start taking orders, too. Parking: plenty.

When ready, go up to the counter and order, bringing back a table number for delivery (or to go) The service was very friendly, and the food came out quick. They do have alcohol as well for those who like a boozy brunch. As for the food, I judge places by their biscuits and gravy... And this was one of my favorites. The biscuit was juicy, buttery perfection and the gravy was real, not the bland packet gravy some places use. The bacon came out at the exact crispness for the best melt in your mouth bite, and they were huge pieces. The hashbrowns were good, nothing fancy though. Eggs cooked perfect (over easy for me). I also got the mocha iced latte and it was very chocolate forward, not much coffee flavor, but still tasty. My only complaint, and I mean ONLY complaint, is that price point. I spent $25 for the biscuits and gravy with a coffee and left hungry. I think had they given me two biscuits instead of just one, maybe that would fix everything. Nevertheless, I do recommend trying this place out

If all avocado toasts were like this, I don't know why anyone would choose something else! The sourdough bread was lightly toasted but not so stiff that it scraped up my mouth. The flavors of the toppings gave it a hearty, yet sweet decadence and the aioli really sealed the deal! My server checked on me plenty but not more than was comfortable and the place itself was small, but it wasn't overwhelming in any way. I can't wait to come back and try more menu items! (There were about ten small tables under the "Brunchin" wall, just didn't want to share all of the people that were filling them)

Tried the strawberry colada mimosa as it was the special of the month. I only tasted champagne with hint if strawberry no coconut. Name felt slightly misleading. Food: I got the banana foster French toast - this was really good not to sweet, nice crunchy ends with soft middle. Per usual no combo for French toast so a side of bacon was $4 and so are potatoes. They do offer a platter for $7 but it includes eggs which i did not want. We ordered side of chicken it needed seasoning bad. Service was okay I feel our waitress tried to connect with us but she was a little awkward. Slightly overpriced for food that is pretty simple in my opinion.

You can buy bags of coffee to take home, too. There is a case with donuts and pastries. I love that they have some colorful earrings and tumblers for sale. The person at the register was so nice and helpful, making sure to go over all our options with us. This place was a burger king in it's forever life, but all of the old signs of plastic booths are gone, and that have been replaced with wooden tables, industrial metal chairs, a bar height communal table, and a leather sofa/chair conversation area. I love the beamed ceiling and the mountain scene made in wood on the wall. We ordered an iced turtle mocha and a cold brew. Both were delish. I never drink black coffee, but the cold brew was so good I would drink it black. We also ordered roast beef melt, panini style, and the ham and Swiss melt, also panini style. Both were yummy. They were each served with a pickle and a bag of chips. There were several people working on laptops when we were here. They even have a printer available which is a huge plus for people here working. There were several rainbow flags and even a rainbow themed drink of the month, so this place is definitely lbgtq+ friendly. This is a great little spot, and I certainly see my self returning.
