Las Tortes Locas had been recommended to me by a friend who has enjoyed a different location. This location was crowded and uncomfortable. It was noisy and hard to be heard. I didn't enjoy my lunch. The only redemption of the fist visit was the horchata which was authentic and I enjoyed very much. This visit was much better. They have expanded their seating area and can now accommodate 3 or 4 times the crowd. They now have room for a salsa and condiment bar that lets you customize your plate. The Air conditioning is comfortable and the atmosphere great. If you come in here as an English only speaker, which I am, expect some communication issues. They don't speak English. You are not their target customer, the local Hispanic community is. They will work with you just take your time and don't expect everyone to speak English. This is their restaurant and you (as an English only speaker) are the visitor. I ordered the Burrito Loco lunch special for $9.89. It was very good. It came with rice and beans. The rice and beans were average but the burrito filling was well seasoned and enjoyable. Given my last visit and the overall price of goods I can go 4 stars but not 5. Still a solid 5 and I will come back. Give it a try. If you are from Latin America and need a break where people speak your language it's great. If you are an Anglo but ready for a bit of diversity in your life you will like it too.

I let them know that I had seen a video on TikTok about their Birria burrito, but that I hadn't seen it on their menu and that was what I wanted to order. They said it was the Birria Cali and that it was very popular lately. I mean, yeah- the video made it look phenomenal and the audio with it was funny. I had also, previously, seen a video about their Machete and wanted to order that because it looked awesome as well. They had 2! One Birria (beef) and the other was Governado (shrimp). We went for the Birria- of course. Honestly, the Birria Burrito had plenty of flavor and more variety in flavor due to the various fillings- Mexican crema, lettuce, guacamole, potatoes (surprising, but honestly VERY good), plenty of cheese, and the Birria (and the sauce is poured right in- which I think could be avoided). It was delicious, but it shouldn't have been served on the paper as the paper began to rip when I started cutting up the burrito. I had wanted to eat the burrito like a burrito, but the moment that I picked it up, it became nearly impossible. The burrito completely opened up and all the fillings started pouring out onto the paper.
