This is a solid place to get a breakfast burrito, I was treating my team a few weeks ago so I ended up getting a dozen of the burritos, and I could be pretty pricey to get that many. The one thing I walked away with was knowing like I was definitely gonna come back to try it again, they can load your burrito or they can put however few items you want. Ordered two plates of carne Asada with rice, beans, and a little salad, along with two flans. Attached is photos of the food i received. It was not presentable at all, the food was cold, the meat was stale/rubbery, and the flan (and the container) was not presentable, it had so much syrup that it all fell out into the bag and I didn't realize when I pulled it out, the syrup dropped everywhere. The food was all to one corner of the container... stale, cold, rubbery, and gross. I spent so much money just to dump it out, save your money and go to El Torito or Salsa and Beer. Located in a small mall at the corner of Vanowen and Hazeltine, Carnitas Michoacan serves delicious Mexican food that will fill you up and not break your wallet. I've had the opportunity to order an array of things in the many times I've been here: Burritos, Fajitas, Gorditas, Tacos, Horchata,Ceviche, etc. My favorite thing to order has been the Gorditas! Who can say no to crispy deliciously deep fried tortillas covered in meat,cheese, lettuce, and salsa! The food is well made and it really fills you up. I've been coming here since 2016 and they have never disappointed until recently. About a month ago I ordered Lengua (tongue) and it was too salty. I decided to give them another chance today 11/28/23 and I ordered lengua again but this time it was sour. Absolutely repulsive, I hope they read this review and understand the outrage fueling this comment. Please do better and stop using old meat. Lengua should never be sour. I have nothing but good things to say! We had their Taquiza for my daughter's third birthday this past weekend and it was such a hit! All of our guests were saying how good and fresh the meat tasted. The best part about it was that they made burritos and Mullitas for the guests as well, and it was all included in the package that was priced very fairly. Additional sales tax...9.25% which is 0.70 cents Add it up...$7.50+1+0.70 = $9.20 I got overcharged for another $1?! The regular burrito was $7.50. The super burrito was $9.50. Man screw this place. The tacos are normal sized honestly just about the size you get at almost at any Mexican restaurant or taco truck High recommend the Al pastor meat! It's honestly the tastiest I've had! This is the best authentic Mexican food in the valley! Whether it's chicken, Cárnitas, carne Asada, pastor, or cabesa, the meat is always cooked perfectly and paired with great sauces. Their onion/carrot mixture is the perfect side dish and my husband loves the green/red sauce they make in house. We're thinking about using them for catering our next party they're so good. Vegetarians stay away! The kid that takes the orders at the front is the most difficult person I have ever ordered with. Menu clearly said they had frijole y queso nachos (bean and cheese nachos). Kid tells me as if I can't read simple Spanish that they don't do that. I haven't had one thing I didn't like. I love their chiles rellenos, their asada burritos and their tacos are to die for, I recently had them make me a an asada breakfast burrito that blew my mind with no pinto beans extra cilantro and onions. The salsa verde is always delicious (my fav) and their red sauce is always extra spicy and makes my mouth water. The carrots, onions and jalapeños are the best ever, no one else's compares for me, I can't have my meal without it. It's gone through it's changes with different ownerships but every business does, I am telling you when they are on point they are incredible. Always go in the morning or during the day when the asada is just made and everything is so fresh! The girls are so sweet to my fiancé. Just wonderful family owned business.
