    Torta de asada

Food is always good. I come here all the time with my boyfriend. It's our to go Mexican spot. Today I tried the Torta de asada for the first time and it was delicious!! It did not disappoint, the bread was not soggy and the asada was so flavorful.

I've been coming to this location for 24 years. I had and came to visit after 6 years. Flavor was exactly how I remember it. Delicious! Fresh! This place has never let me down. Hands down best place in the valley. Owners are always polite and it's always clean.

This is by far my favorite taco place that I have been to. The street tacos are about as authentic as they come and really really cheap! This is the place you want to go when you are craving home cooked Mexican food. I can not stress enough about these soft tacos. The carne asada that they use is so juicy and flavorful and cooked on a grill top and made crispy. The salsa is fresh, spicy and delicious. Do not be put off by the look of the place, its a hole in the wall but thats what makes it so unique! If you are in the valley and craving tacos you must try this place!

Best Mexican on the block maybe even all of Van Nuys. I get the gorditas asada! So dank! Great customer service! Also a must the large horchata! Hits the spot everytime. Love this place. Ty

I ordered the burrito mojado de carne Asada. It has avocado outside, but when I asked them to put it inside, they said of course! I also added sour cream inside! Oooohhh my goodness!! The burrito is by far the best I have ever had. The sauce is so good. The gentleman was very careful with the packaging to make sure it didn't leak. I appreciate that. The parking is a little challenging, but so worth it.

This place has been around for about 29 years in the same location, so they must be doing something right. I have been coming here myself for over 20 years as I used to work right next door to this restaurant. Their food has not changed a bit, still great red salsa, meat is always fresh, beans are delicious and the rice good. I have eaten their Tortas, Burritos, Tacos, Gorditas, Beef Soup Etc. Etc. Etc. and everythinh I have ever had here has been great. Never have I had a bad meal for either Lunch or a Quick Dinner. There are many locations under the same name and quite honestly this is by far the best location, I have eaten in other locations and even though the bame is the same the quality of taste is different. Even in a simple taco or burrito, believe it or not. If you are ever around here pay a visit to them, if you are looking for a decent quick bit. I'm sure you won't be disappointed as I never have been.

My favorite view before I eat!!

I make a point to come here EVERYTIME I am in the area because the flavor and the service can't be beat! I always make sure to get the al pastor and asada tacos, and after recently trying the lengua they will be part of my regular order. Thanks so much for the delicious foods and keeping everyone safe and fed!!

I recently tried out El Cocinero's food at an event that they catered to. As a person who eats meat and is not restricted, I would come here for the good food. The vegan al pastor had chunks of pineapple and it is seasoned and cooked to taste just like the meat version. The texture is just a little bit different but it does resemble a lot like meat. The vegan pastor also tastes just like the meat version, just less "smoky" and the texture is softer. The rice is flavorful and fluffy. The beans are seasoned just enough to have flavor but not compete with the other dishes. The creamy chipotle sauce was perfect topping the rice and beans. I do like vegan food but the only reference I had with Mexican vegan are places that try to add fake cheese and lean heavily on beans and rice. This business shows that you can still have all the flavors and not rely on cheese and meat. They focus on the flavors and not what would make non-vegans feel comfortable. Initially, I was going to give this first time experience a 4 star review so that it encourages me to go check out the restaurant so I can add the service and the ambiance. However, I was lucky enough to bring home leftovers and as I was eating it, the food tastes better. Had to add the extra star!

A Hidden Gem for Fresh Seafood & Family Vibes!…read more We visited Marisco Corona as a party of six--four adults and two toddlers (under 3)--and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Despite it being a busy spot, we were seated right away, which is a huge plus when you have little ones in tow! The Drinks & Starters We started with the Horchata and the Pineapple Water (Agua de Piña). Both were refreshing, authentic, and clearly made with care. If you like traditional Mexican drinks, these are a must-try. The Food Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and felt incredibly fresh. A standout for us was the homemade corn tortillas--you can really taste the difference! Our table shared: * Mojarra & Pescado al Mojo de Ajo: Perfectly cooked and seasoned. * Lobster Plate: Succulent and generous. * Surf & Turf Tacos: These were a highlight! Loaded with carne asada and creamy guacamole, then topped with perfectly grilled shrimp. Each plate comes with rice, beans, and a side salad, but they are super flexible--we were able to substitute fries for the rice and beans on some plates, which is great for picky eaters or just a change of pace. Service & Atmosphere The restaurant is tucked away in a shopping center, so parking was easy to find, which takes the stress out of the arrival. Even though the dining room was buzzing and busy, our waitress was incredibly nice and the entire staff was well-attended to our needs. Bottom line: If you're looking for delicious, flavorful seafood in a family-friendly environment, Marisco Corona is the place to go. We will definitely be back!

Lovely spot for Mexican food with fun vibes!…read more I came for Sunday brunch/lunch with some friends. I made a reservation through Yelp a couple days beforehand and there was plenty of availability. The restaurant is located right off Ventura Blvd and has an attached parking garage in the basement which can be accessed via the parking lot behind the restaurant. There were plenty of spots available Sunday afternoon when I came. It's a bit hidden, but there is an elevator from the garage to the top level where the restaurant is located as well. We had two babies in strollers with us, so I requested a table with plenty of space nearby for the strollers. They seated us outside on their covered patio, and indeed, we had plenty of space. I peeked inside and there's also a nice lounge area with a beautiful flower wall as well as a proper dining area. When we arrived, there was a live DJ spinning tunes. I assume he's there during brunch hours, as he left around 3 pm when brunch ended. I started with a frozen lime margarita ($12). It was okay; it felt like it was only half frozen as the ice wasn't blended that well. For my main, I got the famous Anejo carne asada and shrimp plate for $40. Yes it was pricy, but the portion size was also huge! I was starving and somehow managed to finish the plate, but it'd be a great dish to share for two people with small appetites. I really enjoyed it as well. I asked for the steak to be cooked rare, and they didn't overcook it. Each bite was super tender and flavorful and paired well with the rice. Everyone else also enjoyed their dish. One friend got the wet chicken burrito for $15 and it was massive! Another got the veggie fajitas with steak added and really enjoyed her dish as well. Solid food all around. I would love to come back on a weekday and try their happy hour! Sipping on $5 margaritas and $6 sangrias sounds like my idea of a great time!

Menus are on the qr codes on the table but the menu is hard to scroll through because you have to click each different items to look at and then scroll down and up. We asked for regular menus to make it easier and we were given menus that had hole punches throughout from punching out all the prices because I'm assuming prices have gone up. I hope that they could make the virtual menu a little easier to look at since i think they might be phasing out their physical menus. While we waited on our order we were given delicious chips and spicy bean dip which were excellent. So delicious. For salsa we were directed to the salsa bar. While I think the bar is cool, the tiny cups to get salsa are too small. I would have liked the bean dip sized bowl to get enough, instead of having to get several tiny cups which are hard to scoop from with the chips. I orderd the #7 which was a cheese enchilada, a crunchy beef taco, and rice and beans. My friends ordered two different taquitos plates, one orderd a fajitas plate, and the youngest got cheese quesedilla. My food was delicious but the portion was so large that I could only eat the taco and take the rest to go!
