Madison Fisher was the employee working when we stopped in. He was super friendly, very helpful, informative, and generally a cool guy. He helped my daughter pick out a whole package and gave her some helpful tips and spoke to both her and me, which was so nice. This little shop has a lot of equipment, both new and used. LOTS of choices at different price points. We were both super impressed by the service. She has learned a few songs and is looking forward to growing and learning even more songs to play.

This is a small family-owned business with honest, reliable, and very friendly owners. Since we live on the same side of town as the music shop, the piano was tuned and then delivered for free. Curt (the owner) even came out later that day to fix some sticky keys that revealed themselves after extensive first-day-home playing. :)

I must tell you how wonderful of a school this is…read more Each and every teacher (Angela, Sarah, Trent, Eli) demonstrate conventional and non conventional teaching methods, kindness, warmth, approachability and passion. My daughters are all in piano and my littles picked up an additional instrument. My daughter is learning flute and loves it, even if right now it is just a year of learning to blow correctly. My five (now six) year old picked up drums and will randomly start beating a tune using different surfaces where ever we find ourselves. She is hearing music in everything around her. Music 1st/Tuned In also demonstrates grace when I have mommy meltdowns, when I am late on payment because I am waiting on paid medical, and when I try to work the schedule around a second job. It is a little cramped in that big house, but it is a house of love in our family. I can't thank you enough.

They obviously do this for a living but it's so amazing to see people be able to look at an instrument and understand it so quickly. As someone that is just learning a violing i really appreciated that they took the time to look over my random instriment and recommend a few fixes and explained why they were important. Some things can wait as I am just learning in my free time but others like a separating fingerboard are important for playing in general so it was nice to be guided a bit on their necessity. Ultimately it is my decision what to fix and took them up on the fingerboard and it looks great! Really love it. I was also surprised that they cleaned my case. Because I just got it, I hadn't taken the time to clean the inside yet and was pleasantly surprised to see it had been cleaned. Feels like a nice personal touch 10/10. I've been taking weekly guitar lessons with Joey Archer since early May 2010. I've never learned an…read moreinstrument or taken professional guitar lessons before, but I'm glad I found Joey to be my instructor. He is patient, personable and gives me good "homework" assignments of new guitar riffs, chords and other exercises to work on. I feel like I'm getting quality, honest feedback on my progress, and having him there to correct my technique or give me tips is definitely worthwhile. I can't imagine trying to learn on my own, especially since I have very little real musical background (I don't think the recorder counts :P). I'm sure it's possible but having Joey there to point me in the right direction speeds things up and helps avoid unnecessary setbacks. I wanted to at least get a solid foundation and start with good habits before I set out to learn electric guitar, and I feel like I'm getting that with Joey. He's flexible with scheduling and make-up lessons, very knowledgeable and fun to learn with. I feel like I'm making good progress and look forward to improving more with his guidance. Would definitely recommend Joey to anyone looking to learn guitar or another instrument in the Lacey area.

Beware taking an instrument for repair. I took an older horn and knew what needed to be fixed…read more The repair technicians came back with the answer that it needed a re-pad for $200, and offered me no other options. The horn was gone for over a week, and I had to wait for another week for it to get back from Tacoma before I could pick it up. Being a band director for 10 years, learning instrument repair from one of the best flute builders on the east coast and being a musician for 30 years qualifies me to know that a $200 re pad was not the only option for this horn thta had two leaky pads. The shop its self was OK for supplies, but don't use this chain for repairs. There are several stores that come up in an internet search, and they all end up at the same website. If you have to, talk to your child's band director first to see what needs to be done. You may be charged lots of money you don't need to pay.
