Stopped in for a bit. Great parking with indoor/ outdoor bars with tvs. Food was so so ... kind of like an Applebees. Drinks were mediocre really but fairly priced. Has two full size pool tables and darts/ pinball. Tables need maintenance they kept swallowing the cue balls and needed opening by staff. The dumped a lot of water on the floor during kitchen clean up which could be dangerous toward the end of the night. read more

You can't really go wrong with any Carolina Ale House bc you have plenty to choose from. Upon arriving we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server, Ella came over soon after and was very pleasant, knowledgeable and willing to help us. Ella was very attentive and helpful with suggestions. I wanted a blueberry lemonade mocktail and she didn't waste any time speaking with the bartender and made it happen. Food was delicious and fresh. The only minor complaint was the nachos. Although they were good, they were lacking chicken and cheese. Chicken nachos is our go to bc the portions are plentiful and we have plenty to go around. He got a bottled beer. I ordered the bowl of chili with a side of sour cream. Unfortunately my chili was cold. Eli was our waitress and was very accommodating. She took it back no question. My guy got the French onion soup and the chicken nachos. Both were adequate but not something we'd order again. The chicken did not look fresh or appetizing. We ordered online through the website for delivery which apparently goes through door dash. The delivery driver kept us updated that he was waiting on our food when he got there which was over 30 minutes after we ordered and then he waited another 30 which threw off other deliveries. Then when food finally arrived 2 hours later (part of this was the on delivery drivers part) everything was cold and there wasn't any chicken on the grilled chicken salad and the sauce was missing on my daughter's order. What a fantastic experience! My cousin and I decided to pop in around 11pm and were promptly shown to our table. Our server, Eli, was absolutely wonderful. To start off, we tried the Chicken Quesadilla which we rated a 7 out of 10, followed by the 12 Wings with half garlic Parmesan and half hot honey also rated a 7 out of 10, and the 10 Zingers with the same sauce combination which we rated an 8 out of 10. We stopped in again at Carolina Ale House, 317 College Rd, Wilmington, for dinner this weekend. The battered Chicken Breast Tenders served with BBQ sauce, and the beer-battered fries superb as always. The Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad with avocado, roasted corn salad, tomatos, hard-boiled egg, smoked bacon, blue cheese crumbles, fresh and delicious per usual. The beer list always has national favorites with several locals too. I went with another Bill's Brewing dark this time. But what always elevates this CAH is Eli. Our server yet again this go round, she is always warm, expert at the menu, attentive, and supports those around her. Eli makes the visit everytime memorable. We'll be back. For sure. My husband and I are veterans. We went to Carolina Ale House today for their Veterans Day special - the half rack of ribs meal. We like Carolina Ale House and have had good meals in the past. Of course it was very busy, so service could have been better. But the ribs - inedible! BBQ ribs should be pull apart tender. We couldn't even cut the bones apart to eat them. It was like they hadn't been smoked at all, just threw them in the oven and slapped some BBQ sauce on them. The fries and Cole slaw were good. We paid for our drinks and left. The older guy bartender was on the spot. Quick to get a new drink while keeping the atmosphere happy with the customers. Even though he was rooting for the opposite team from many of the patrons. The food was not that great though. Burger was supposed to be medium rare. As you can see from the picture it was more well done then medium, let alone medium rare. I hate having to send food back. I've been here a few times and it seems like the service here is severely slow. It takes an awhile for a server to get to our table and whenever we needed anything we would have to wait at least 10 minutes. I got the 1/2 ribs and chicken and my food was fantastic, but the food of who else was at my table seemed to be sitting at the window for a bit and was cold. Oh man. The first time I went here was clearly a fluke. We went yesterday to watch the Canes game, and the service and the food and the atmosphere was so bad! Unlike a lot places right now, there wasn't a shortage of staff here, the issue seemed to be that none of them seemed to know how to do their job. The wings had the potential to be really good as they were fried perfectly but had no heat and no warmth. At all. And the four little carrot sticks were just useless. Why are places so stingy with the celery and the carrots???m Can bars please get rid of the projectors??? They are such bad quality that it's not even fun to watch the games on them. There are way better options now. I do like their huge outdoor area. They've done a great job creating that space. I also appreciate that they had the sound on during the game rather than music. I compliment the kitchen for the PERFECT medium rare steak they cooked in which 99% was edible and amazing. In fact, I've never had a steak that had so little fat in my entire life! This place was ok. I had high hopes because the place smelled really good from the parking lot. We were seated and I asked for a high chair for my toddler. The hostess never came back. My husband has to track one down. Our waitress rushed us to order before we were ready. When we did order, it took our food forever to come out. Our waitress was also very absent. We saw the other tables get their food and the food did look very good. We got our food and once again it was just ok. I had the taco bowl salad and my husband had the cheeseburger. He was happy with his and my salad was nice and fresh. I ordered my kids a cheese pizza and received a pepperoni pizza that tasted just like a lunchable that was heated up. We had the server named Brady, the worst one here! If you come here make sure to ask to not have her as your server! All she does is touch her hair and give food out she never checked on us at all and she was not friendly when we had to ask for things. The college crowd was definitely present, but my friend and I kept to ourselves in booth area and had a quiet dinner. I had the Frickles (fried pickles) and French Onion Soup. If I were a strictly practicing vegetarian, I would have had a really hard time finding something to eat here. The Frickles were good, but the breaded coating wasn't crispy. The soup was kinda watery and barely had any bread in it. I asked for more croutons, and the server brought me seasoned croutons, which made it weird. They did have some rotating drafts, but were out of the one that I wanted. The $4 draft and import deal on Wednesday nights is great. Overall, it was good and not great. read more
