Fried Chicken, Mac & Cheese, Greens; and Cornbread
    Omara R.

I have not been to Carolina Kitchen in over 15 years but so glad I came across one last week. The fried chickens batter was light, crispy, flavorful full of herbs. The Mac & Cheese didn't real, it was super yellow but super delicious, chessy, creamy, the cornbread was moist and a bit sweet; the greens were smoky and tender. I will definitely go back.

    Dry pork chop

Just got pork chops Mac and greens. Haven't had a pork chop in four years and this one was so dry I could barely chew it.

I look forward to Friday Nights. Not for TGIF purposes, but to eat the food from Carolina Kitchen. Now, their might be a line but that's because I'm not the only one looking forward to eating here. They have a tried & true system where you'll be in & out, depending on the person in front of you. I get the Mama's Stew Chicken - it's my. Go. To. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with whatever sides you choose. And if you're not interested in take out, you can eat in their spacious dining room area. If you're in the Brandywine area & are looking for some good Comfort Food... pull up! #MallyMallApproved

    My order

I ordered the salmon, sweat potatoes, and greens...what I got was pork chops and mac instead. I called the same day and the manger wouldn't even come to the phone. The person I spoke with said they wouldn't refund me the difference over the phone. I didnt want to drive all the way from camp springs back to brandywine to prove I received the wrong order. I said I could send them a picture and they still refused to refund my money. Poor customer service on their part. Your management sucks for that. I dont even like the pork chops . Over charged for something I didnt order and dont even like. Thanks alot. I dont think I'll be coming back anytime soon or ever.

    Creole Salmon

Usually, I love this spot for a quick, delicious home-cooked meal, but this visit was a letdown. I always go for the creole salmon with red mashed potatoes (as advertised), creamy Cajun sauce, grilled shrimp, and a lump of crab. It used to be $39 and was spot-on, but now it's $50 and seriously lacking. They skimped on everything, and it was way too salty. The only saving grace was the collard greens. Huge disappointment. Also, a heads-up for those with allergies: knowing what's in the desserts is crucial. The bread pudding had something that caused a reaction. Service it was , I think knowing what you serve is important. Also, for the decor having more lighting would help. Chairs are having a lot of wear and tear. Probably won't be back for a while. Onward to tastier adventures!

Not worth the price for what you get. $25 for ONE piece of catfish is ridiculous! $9 for one COLD serving of peach cobbler, eventhough the ticket states warm cobbler - False advertisement!! The cashier said they only serve cold cobbler. When I got home and actually saw what all I got for $41.87, I was mortified! Then as I tried to eat the cobbler, I find something in it that I can't make out. At that point, I just trashed everything. What a waste of money. NEVER again!!

What are the operating hours? Tried to call and it sounded like a personal phone where the voice mailbox was full.

11am-10pm. Weird! Maybe something was wrong with the phone at the time? Normally a recording for them comes on if they're unavailable but it doesn't sound like a personal phone at all.

My friend ordered the fish platter with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The fish was very light and filling. These are fantastic and have to be house-made. They are so flaky and delicious! Our party of 3 sampled the trio appetizers with spinach dip, chicken tenders, and cheese bites. All were excellent! The chips light and crispy. The spinach dip was creamy. The cheese bites were great. The fried chicken tenders had an amazing light and crunchy coating. I'm picky with fried foods and this place is top notch. The battered foods don't feel greasy and have a great crunch. The homemade ranch and honey mustard dressings were a great accompaniment. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The sides were perfect. The chicken fried steak had that great crunchy coating. The steak would have been a little better if the meat had been pounded a little thinner, but was still okay. My friend had a Caesar salad that was too heavy on the dressing, so recommend you order your dressing on the side if you get a salad. The facilities were clean, but I did notice a few issues that needed attention. A broke stall lock and a tile falling off the wall. Our server was fantastic. There was plenty of parking out front. I enjoyed this spot. A great place to eat.

The best green beans ever! I would love to get these again! The mashed potatoes were so creamy and the yams were nice and sweet, but not too, too sweet. They were perfectly balanced and had the best texture! The meatloaf was made with all of the love in the world! Now, since it has lamb, the flavor is very, very prominent. There are surprising number of chicken options here for a place called, "This Is Seafood", but not quite as many seafood options as I hoped. I was really looking forward to getting an order of fried scallops for lunch and I was a little disappointed they didn't have them on the menu. I decided to get the Combo #4: 3 whole wings, 6 fried shrimp, and my choice of 1 piece of fish and side dish. For my fish, I chose fried catfish and for my side I chose hush puppies. The combo also came with a fountain drink. I decided to mix their house-made lemonade and house-made iced tea and it made the perfect half-and-half. The wait wasn't too bad, as the food was being freshly made. It was piping hot and crispy when I received it. Those shrimp were huge! Some of the biggest fried shrimp I've ever had...And not those butterfly shrimp either. Whole shrimp, and the tail was removed so I didn't have to worry about accidentally crunching on one of the shells. The catfish was delectable! Perfectly seasoned, delightfully crispy, and absolutely melted in my mouth. So good. I'm coming back for the catfish if nothing else. The wings were perfectly fried, nice and crispy, but they were a bit too light on the seasoning for my taste. And the mumbo sauce tasted too similar to barbecue sauce. I did not like that, so I ended up saving the rest of the wings until I got home to put my own mumbo sauce on them. The hush puppies were also really good. I like that they were fried perfectly and weren't greasy... Even after reheating them. Overall, my lunch cost me about $25 and it was enough food for at least two meals. Can't beat that. I'll be back for that catfish.

They Had My Favorite Type Of Fries: Crinkle Cut, Crispy, Yet Still Soft Inside. This Alone Made Me Happy . The Shrimp Were Big, Fried Perfectly & Had A Nice Crunch On The Outside. I Just Wish They Had A Little More Seasoning For Extra Flavor. Solid Seafood Spot With Good Portions, Great Prices, Easy Parking, & Friendly Service. I'll Definitely Be Back To Try More Stuff. I Can't Believe I Never Knew They Had This In Clinton, I've Been To The District Heights Location But Happy For This 1 Too.

This place was absolutely phenomenal. My wife and I visited from Cali and decided to stop here for…read moredinner. When we got in the ambiance and vibe of the restaurant was amazing. Then to follow it up the service from our waiter Andrew was first class. He took care of us in a timely manner as well as gave great menu recs with even better service throughout our dinner. The food came out and was to die for especially the Kimchi Crab Dip! This place was so good we decided to come back for brunch the next day. My oh my am I glad we did, we had the most amazing experience getting in as soon as they opened. From there received great service from Misha and the food came out even better than before. I cannot stress it enough that THIS IS THE BEST BRUNCH I HAVE EVER HAD. The French toast made my taste buds dance every bite. The chicken and waffles cooked to perfection and filled with such flavor. Then the Kentucky Hot Brown is the food you wouldn't expect you needed in your life but you do. The sweet buns were so good I preferred them over the Cinnabon across the street. All in all if I could rate this out of 10 it was a 20 for how good everything was. I would recommend Brunch over dinner but both still were good. I for sure will be flying from California just for this place again. Succotash staff and cooks thank you all. Especially Andrew and Misha yall are amazing!
