However, she confirmed that I will still be able to get my food if I was in there before it closed at nine. 8:55 PM I'm out the kitchen is closed and I can't get the food that I want. I ordered the meatloaf, Mac and cheese, greens with a corn muffin on the side. Since I was famished, I also ordered a slice of the sweet potato cake. All of my food was delicious. The bags are not flat on the bottom but they use square cardboard containers. The greens had a lot of liquid. This food requires airtight packaging. Wanted soul food for Sunday dinner after church so I visited this location. We easily found street parking near the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. There was a line with about a 20-30 minute wait but the line did progress - the wait gave us time to look at the menu as first time visitors. The line is carry out only with open seating. The food is buffet style and you order and it is prepared for you to pick up at checkout. We ordered two things (catfish and creole salmon) that were made to order after about 10 minutes. The line staff were courteous as well as the staff at checkout. We had creole salmon fried catfish with two sides each including cornbread and we also got a Caesar salad. On January 21, 2024, my daughter, and I went to Carolina kitchen, the one that is located in Brandywine, Maryland. I got the smothered chicken, with rice, cabbage, macaroni and cheese. My dessert was the peach cobbler. The peach cobbler came to a total of $19.27 cents that's over 9.50 for each. But here lies The problem is that the peach cobbler was actually tart. It wasn't sweet at all and the crust was a little tough. I am surprised that this kitchen that cooks good food that this dessert was horrible absolutely horrible. I called the restaurant on my way home 15x, to which no one answered. When I got to the restaurant the line was out the door and there were people picking up orders. I asked, "what's going on with the phones?" to be met with, "the phones are down." As the employee actively ignored the phone as it rang in front of both of us. I ended up not ordering anything after being in line for 15 -minutes and only having had taken about 5 steps into the door. However, the food isn't even worth the wait. Our group called the Walkabout wanted to break bread before Christmas and we were guided by one of our walking partners to Carolina KitChen. We all met about 7:00 pm. Yolanda one of the Supervisor's made sure our table was reserve. She was so pleasant over the phone. We selected our food and was entertained by the Manager of the restaurant, Sam. The greens even had a slight sweet taste and so did the potato salad. The customer service was also phenomenal. The mac & cheese was not my favorite at all, the yams were decent and the jerk chicken was pretty good but it needs some more sauce. I usually get the fried fish from Carolina Kitchen in Brandywine, MD and it's excellent. I've been wanting to try the crabcakes but was scared they wouldn't be great. $32 later and boy was I right. They have a lot of nerve charging $30 (plus tax) for these "crabcakes". They taste like the box of frozen crabcakes that cost 2/$6 at the supermarket. They are nothing but filling with a few pieces of crab sprinkled throughout. In fact, they could better be claasified as fishcakes because that's as close to seafood that they taste. On this particular night my food was horrible dried out and old. He ignored me and continued to put the wrong side order on my plate. The greens here are NASTY, that's why I ordered the cabbage. Also, I ordered jerk chicken and received smothered (totally different). Learn how to read, pay attention when someone is telling you that's the WRONG order, OR maybe find a new job.
