I was lying in bed after 10:00 p.m. listening to hotel guests talking and the floor bumps and rumble and the squealing of kids with loud adult voices. During the night, facing the convenience store / gas station I was awakened at 3:15 a.m. by the bang of a dumpster being slammed down, then the angry beeping of the truck. The area has a passenger train line close enough that you can hear the blast of the train horns. In the next hour or so, two passenger trains are blowing their horns at a crossing. It took me a couple of hours to get back to sleep. The hotel staff does slide the bill under your door (or tries to) and that is an annoyance that we can live without if we have email / text message options. The breakfast was good and standard stuff, egg and cheese omelet, biscuits and gravy, pancake machine and sweet pastries. Bring your earplugs and don't expect a great night's sleep.

The front desk area is also very nice, including a large fireplace and lounge (didn't see the hours but it looked like it had a variety of bottles). The lobby also smelled amazing! Breakfast is from 06:30-09:30 and had the usual scrambled eggs, sausage patties, Belgian waffles, coffee, juice, instant oatmeal with toppings. Everything was clean but the breakfast area is a little tight to move around. Great find in the area...food options in this town are limited though so plan accordingly.

In room alarm wasn't reset by house keeping so we were woken at 5:30. Then the upstairs neighbors started stomping around at 5:45 (the floors literally vibrate) then the local freight train came through at 6:00 of course followed by all the road noise. Other nuances, no flat sheet on the bed (weird), no hair dryer (I shower at night), next to no shampoo (thankfully I have very short hair), mattress too firm (not the worst I've ever suffered). Positive note, the room seems very clean. The breakfast was good and the aforementioned clerk was delightful. I saved $30 staying here verses the hotel right next door, next time we will give them a try.

The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, and the desk area for working was also a decent size. Towels were also plentiful, and a good size. I didn't try the breakfast as I'm not a fan of the high carb low nutrition breakfasts served in the travel inns. A good place to stay when stopping for the night.

Check-in was smooth, room was clean, bright and large, which was great for my short overnight stay in Yemassee. Bathroom had everything I needed. Both elevators were fast and I never had to wait more than 30 seconds for one. Good complimentary breakfast, served until 10 am on the weekends, plenty of seating area to eat your food. My only semi complaint was that the walls are paper thin. I was woken up multiple times with people closing their room doors or making noise in the hallway all throughout the night. I was in town for a wedding at Bray's Island and it was a short 10 minute drive away. Great value for the price!
