Dr. Marshally adjusted the prescription, but the second pair of glasses was still blurry in one eye. So, the result was worse than my old glasses. The optician who handled the orders was surly and did not check the fit for either of the two glasses when delivered, resulting in chafing over my ears. Finally, when I asked for a refund, the optician took care of it but did not ask why or offer to take additional steps to satisfy me. I cannot recommend either the provider or customer service in this office.

(I truly wish he had not done so!) Everything else about this place is in a downward spiral getting worse by the minute. From their sole focus on profits, the staff un-welcoming reception upon arrival at the office, to their phone etiquete -they cut you mid-sentence, contradict you regarding what the pt. has or has not scheduled- to their blaming the patient for their disorganized records, this place is inhospitable from the get-go. Staff turnover is also of note, so if a patient did not care for a specific staff member, not to worry, they will likely not be there at the next visit. Yet, this practice cannot seem to manage hiring decent, polite staff who understand fundamental customer service skills. I'm generously letting them keep the 2nd star **only** b/c of Dr Rodgers. However, he alone deserves five stars; while in fairness I cannot express an opinion about the other doctors -whom I never saw, the overall practice and the staff get below a zero. You do the math...

I have always had a good experience with the optometrists but have had issues with the opticians the past two years. Last year, my prescription was changed such that all the negative powers were entered as positive and vice versa. I had only discovered the problem after picking up the glasses late one Saturday afternoon and had to have the lenses remade once they figured out what the error was. This year, I went in and found out that they no longer supply Essilor lenses and coatings which are my preference. This is because I used to work for the company that makes the equipment that Essilor uses to put coatings on their lenses so I am well aware of the quality of Essilor's lenses and coatings. I was a bit hesitant but decided to get glasses anyway since I was there. They came in about 10 days later but I received a message that they didn't pass a quality check and they were being sent back to be remade. I got the final pair about 2 weeks later. I had only worn them 3 or 4 times when I noticed a small smudge in the corner about 2 weeks after that. I tried removing it with the cloth provided, then with the cloth and water, and finally with lens cleaning spray, always with the lens cloth. Since it wasn't coming off, I took it in thinking they could get it off but they said it was a scratch. To be fair, I did not have the scratch warranty as I've had glasses for 45 years and never had an issue and having worked in the business am aware how to care for them. To me, it seemed like a defect. The optician's exact words were, "Well, you didn't purchase the warranty so there's nothing we can do. Have a good day." And then she walked away. Well, I'm walking away from this business.

They take more insurance plans than most places in this area and their provide exceptional care It took a few weeks to get in but the exam and fittings are a well-oiled machine with the doctor doing all the testing and exam instead of a tech which was nice. Dr. Sykes is very personable and attentive. He was able to find the right type of contact lens for reading and distance so I don't have to wear my wear my readers on the top of my head anymore. My husband goes here as well and they were very patient with teaching him how to use contact lenses. I like that it's smaller and patient-focused-not like the huge doc in a box places. I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a place for all your eye care needs.

Yes, this is a 5-star doctor…read more When my eye doctor retired I was concerned about finding someone new because there were SO many complaints about eyecare places from people I asked. I was pleased (and relieved) to find Dr. Bakir - she's professional, smart, and takes her time with the client - and the office provides great customer service and is competitively priced. Highly recommended.

I went for an eye exam, and told Dr. Bakir afterwards that I would not be purchasing my progressive glasses there, that I tended to use Zenni because of being on a strict budget. She didn't seem too pleased, but gave me my prescription. Later as I went to order on Zenni, I noticed that she put for my ADD/reading level a level higher than what I use daily. I paused but thought well, she is the trained licensed professional, so went ahead and put the numbers she had written in on my order. I got my order from Zenni and the glasses were completely unusable due to her mistake. I contacted her twice via email (she has always been lightning fast responsive previously) and she did not ever bother to respond. So I am not only out of $120 for an incorrect eye exam, I am also out the $ for the progressives I cannot use- and did not even get the consideration of her response to help me resolve her mistake so I could have a pair of usable updated glasses. Like, I get that mistakes can be made- but when you make a mistake providing a service that negatively impacts your customer, you should be good enough to fix it. So yeah, terrible, terrible experience.

I had been meaning to go to the eye doctor's and get new glasses or contacts (if I didn't need new glasses since my insurance only pays for one or the other in a 12-month period). In the past, I've always gone to the places at Walmart or wholesale stores like BJ's/Costco. Now that I'm a fully functioning adult, I decided to do more research and choose a local practice. It was honestly hard to pick a local eye doctor, since there are many reputable ones in the area. It was ultimately between Rosenstein and one other for me, and I arbitrarily picked Rosenstein because it was literally 5 minutes down the road! They have an online booking system called PatientReach, so I didn't even have to call to make an appointment. When you make an appointment through PatientReach, you can include a comment, and I noted that I'd like to get a regular eye exam done, and potentially a contacts exam done if my vision is stable (enough) since last time, and there is no need for me to get new glasses. I made an appointment mid-November, and couldn't get a spot in until the second week of December (do not procrastinate like me if this would stress you out!). My appointment was with Dr. Gretz. Before seeing her, I got a few "tests" done really quickly by a staff member. Then my actual eye exam was performed by Dr. Grezt, who was pleasant and listened to my concerns. I did explain that I'm interested in getting contacts but only if I do not need to get new glasses. My vision was stable enough, and I did get the contacts exam done as well. She brought me to the optical department where Austin walked me through the process of getting contacts (should I choose to do so). Austin explained that I'd have to come back for a training session where I would have to put in and take out contacts three times. We also reviewed my insurance benefits, and I was told what my out-of-pocket expenses would be ($10 copy for eye exam, $60 copy for contacts exam + training, and up to $300 coverage for contacts). Optical department was more flexible in scheduling, and I was able to come back the same week for training (which was harder than I thought). I had to go back a second time to finish my "training." Then I was given a few different trial sets to use for the next week or so, before I met with Dr. Gretz again to finalize my contacts prescription and order new contacts. When I met with Dr. Gretz, I complained of the contacts drying out my eyes, and she gave me even more contacts to try. This put me back a little bit in terms of ordering, but I appreciated having 5+ contacts to try (I have astigmatism + dry eyes so this was basically me being extra). Since it was close to the end of the year, I called to finalize my order and made a payment over the phone. Once your contacts (or glasses I assume) are ready, you get an email notification, and you can pick them up any time during their normal business hours. Thank you for reading my novel. But on a serious note, thanks to Rosenstein Vision Center for making the contacts journey not as scary (both in terms of ensuring that I do not poke my eyes out and for explaining/interpreting the insurance for me)! I highly recommend Rosenstein Vision Center!
