They take more insurance plans than most places in this area and their provide exceptional care It took a few weeks to get in but the exam and fittings are a well-oiled machine with the doctor doing all the testing and exam instead of a tech which was nice. Dr. Sykes is very personable and attentive. He was able to find the right type of contact lens for reading and distance so I don't have to wear my wear my readers on the top of my head anymore. My husband goes here as well and they were very patient with teaching him how to use contact lenses. I like that it's smaller and patient-focused-not like the huge doc in a box places. I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a place for all your eye care needs.

I was told to come by and they would do their best, but could send it out to an excellent place if they couldn't fix it. I drove right over, walked in, they took my glasses, and had them fixed within a few minutes. In the meanwhile ,I looked around the place at the showcases full of eyeglass frames. They have beautiful frames and a wide array of choices. This is a LOCAL place with every advantage. I'll be back there for sure the next time I need new glasses.

I have always had a good experience with the optometrists but have had issues with the opticians the past two years. Last year, my prescription was changed such that all the negative powers were entered as positive and vice versa. I had only discovered the problem after picking up the glasses late one Saturday afternoon and had to have the lenses remade once they figured out what the error was. This year, I went in and found out that they no longer supply Essilor lenses and coatings which are my preference. This is because I used to work for the company that makes the equipment that Essilor uses to put coatings on their lenses so I am well aware of the quality of Essilor's lenses and coatings. I was a bit hesitant but decided to get glasses anyway since I was there. They came in about 10 days later but I received a message that they didn't pass a quality check and they were being sent back to be remade. I got the final pair about 2 weeks later. I had only worn them 3 or 4 times when I noticed a small smudge in the corner about 2 weeks after that. I tried removing it with the cloth provided, then with the cloth and water, and finally with lens cleaning spray, always with the lens cloth. Since it wasn't coming off, I took it in thinking they could get it off but they said it was a scratch. To be fair, I did not have the scratch warranty as I've had glasses for 45 years and never had an issue and having worked in the business am aware how to care for them. To me, it seemed like a defect. The optician's exact words were, "Well, you didn't purchase the warranty so there's nothing we can do. Have a good day." And then she walked away. Well, I'm walking away from this business.

All of the furnishings and products are the same, and even the layout of optometrists places must be regulated by that same dark guild. The service is really what shines here. I dealt with three separate people just in the process of trying to get information about eye exams and contact lenses, and every one was extremely helpful, speedy, and friendly. It's a welcome breath of fresh air after the terror that some eye doctors can wreak on you. They didn't even attempt to hide any of the normally-hidden fees that these places normally go with. All in all, I was very impressed.

I had originally purchased these Oakley's from Optical Reflections and thought I had lost them (later found!). Although I had a good buying experience eight years prior when buying the Oakley's I thought it would be wise to do some comparison shopping. I did a lot on on-line research before going out and actually visiting several optical shops in the Chapel Hill area. I had decided that I wanted to get some Maui Jim sunglasses this time around because as an avid boater, I learned that the Maui Jim's were highly regarded by boaters for their clarity in the marine environment. I found that although some of the other local shops (that carried the Maui Jim brand) were fine, I was treated especially well at Optical Reflections. Fred, (one of the two owners) actually remembered me, which I found amazing since it had been eight years. He was very knowledgeable about all the prescription sunglasses and yet not pushy. The shop had a very large selection and I was given lots of time to try on the various models. He offered good insight when asked but didn't try to steer me toward any particular choice . . . which I found quite comfortable. It took me two visits to the shop before I was sure of what I wanted. Once I decided on the particular model the ordering process was fast, efficient and accurate. I say "accurate" because when the glasses arrived about two weeks later I was thrilled with them. As a professional photographer the visual world is important to me and therefor I'm Ok with the higher cost of a quality optical product. This purchase has turned out to be one of my most satisfying buying experiences in a long time. The excellent service provided by Fred and the outstanding end result have inspired me to write this review.

I was surprised to learn I would need a new prescription when my existing one was only a couple of years old, but the person who did the exam was pleasant and the exam didn't take very long. I was quoted a wait of 7-10 days because I have a complicated prescription, but the glasses actually took almost four weeks. That said, the fitting and paperwork went smoothly and I love my new glasses.

I purchased them through the office and paid a significant amount, with a "promise by" date of August 31 printed on my receipt. When I called on August 31, I was told they hadn't arrived yet. I completely understand that delays happen, so I waited a few days before following up. When I called again, I was told they still weren't in and that they had "no idea" when they would arrive. When I asked whether they could check on the status or get an updated timeframe, I was essentially told that the lab/vendor is bad at communicating with them, so they really didn't know. That's the part I find particularly frustrating. A delay is understandable; simply having no information after a promised delivery date (and seeming fairly complacent about not having any) is not. For someone who genuinely needs these glasses and spent a considerable amount of money ordering them here, I expected much better communication and follow-through. I was happy with the initial appointment, but unfortunately the experience since ordering my glasses has been disappointing.
