Easy option for families. We waited about 10 minutes with a group of 7. They have lots of options on the menu and fairly reasonable for Duval Street. I had the southwest salad. It had an option of grilled or blackened chicken, I chose grilled. It had lots of good veggies and tortilla strips. Would recommend! Pleasantly surprised by the high quality dinner on Duval Street! We enjoyed the peel and eat shrimp, the steak,and the fresh fish of the day. My husband and I went to Caroline's for dinner while staying in Key West for vacation. We were seated promptly and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Our food came out fairly quickly. Our order: $40 Conch Fritters Cuban sandwich Jambalaya 2 ice teas I really enjoyed my Cuban sandwich, but it wasn't the best I've had. Additionally, the Jambalaya was really good but also not the best I've had. For being on Duval, the tourists main strip, I thought the food was satisfactory and reasonable for the portion sizes, which were pretty substantial. I would recommend this location of you need a bite to eat, are on Duval and don't want to eat at a chain. Otherwise, I prolly wouldn't go out of my way to go here. Not terrible but not great. Came here one night during our weekend Memorial Day trip for dinner. We had a larger party ... about 9 of us. We showed up around 8:30pm and asked for a table. Obviously with a party of 9 we knew it was going to probably take a little while before we were able to be seated. However, the hostess was so rude to us and for no reason at all. It really caught us off guard to be honest. She had such a nasty attitude and basically told us she wasn't sure if they could accommodate a party of our size .... Really? All you have to do is push two tables together ... but if you want to turn away business. Okay. We had to ask her if she could talk to a manager and see if it was possible to "accommodate" us. After waiting for about 15 minutes at the bar (after ordering a round of drinks for everyone in our party by the way) we were finally told they would figure it out. We continued to get some rude stares from said hostess. Honestly we have no idea what her issue was ... but perhaps she should reconsider the customer service industry. We all ordered some appetizers and a meal and an additional round of drinks. We were starving. For the appetizers we had the shrimp cocktail and the conch fritters. Both of which were pretty good. FYI the shrimps are not deveined. Onto our meals .... most of our group got a fish sandwich or platter. A friend next to me got the dolphin fingers (they were my favorite), I got the Rickenbacker shrimp ... it was okay. Over all the food was good. Nothing spectacular but nothing terrible. However, the service was terrible and yes it was due to that one woman. But come on, no one wants to be treated like that on vacation. Between the two of us I remember a burger, a chicken sandwich, some jambalaya, a Cuban... absolutely everything was delicious with generous portions. First time I've been to Key West and my wife and I decided to have lunch at Caroline's. So so glad we did! I had the shrimp po boy that was overloaded with incredibly tasty, crunchy shrimp. There were so many shrimp, I couldn't finish the sandwich but managed to finish all the shrimp. My wife, being allergic to shellfish ordered a hamburger but asked if the fries were cooked in a separate fryer, hoping to avoid shellfish contamination. The waiter informed her that they were not and she opted for another side. But that's not where the story ends. About 5 minutes after placing the order, the owner Robert showed up at our table. He explained to us how serious they take shellfish allergies and just wanted to assure my wife that nothing that will be on her plate will come anywhere near shellfish. We've been through this process 1000 times with my wife and never once did the owner of any restaurant come to our table to put my wife at ease about eating at their establishment. Robert was amazing and checked back in two more times with us to see if we were enjoying our lunch. Oh, and the key lime pie for desert did not disappoint and the service was absolutely amazing! We were vacationing for the week in Key West and couldn't leave without the requisite stroll down Duval Street. Since it was lunchtime we found Caroline's and were pleased that we did. We were seated with a view of the street for perfect people-watching. I ordered the Macon-Bacon salad and it's the best chicken salad I've ever had. Usually the greens overwhelm the dish but this was perfectly balanced with tasty, crunchy popcorn-style chicken, plenty of bacon bites and candied pecans with a ranch-style dressing. Yummmm! My husband had a craving for the fish sandwich and his did not disappoint . Drinks were tasty and refreshing and we took some Key Lime pie back to our hotel balcony to enjoy ay dusk. The Duval St side is usually crowded, service slower, but if you go in the Caroline St side you will find two smallish rooms both with a bar. The one on the right (as you come in) is more for fancy drinks, the one on the left has several taps and full bar. My server Diana was really friendly and efficient. While I do not have any images of my food, I had to leave a great review of this cafe. We entered the restaurant with a party of 8 on a Sunday afternoon and were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and attentive. Most importantly, the restaurant was extremely careful and accommodating with our various dietary restrictions (my brother has a severe peanut and tree nut allergy and my best friend has celiac). The manager even came over to discuss what would be taken to ensure the food was dave to eat and brought their food out himself.
