I could not recommend Dr. Alexander more highly. She is kind, attentive, thoughtful, detail oriented, and very gentle. She is an absolutely brilliant physician and her team is driven by the most recent cutting-edge medical recommendations and evidence-based medicine. Her team constantly checks in with you during the IVF process, reviewing medications, doses, your lab results and ultrasound results, and your personal calendar. The office has early office hours, which I found particularly helpful, so I could go at 6:30 or 7am, get an ultrasound and labs, and then Dr. Alexandar would call me several hours later to discuss results in next steps. I have worked with her since 2017, and over the last several years we have had two successful rounds of IVF and two babies. She has helped our family to grow, and I know I will never be able to truly thank her for helping me become a mother. I am a physician myself, and I recommend my patients to Dr. Alexander because she is the most likely to send them back pregnant. I couldn't recommend her more highly. SCRC is a beautiful facility, and they have a respectful, organized, and polished staff. They also took excellent care and precautions during the COVID-19 pandemic. I will caution you that having IVF seems intimidating, and the price tag at SCRC is not inexpensive. However, it is completely worth it. When entrusting my care in a doctor there are 3 important factors for me to consider: -Practice is drive by the most Up to Date research and data. -Experience in the field helps guide their decision making process. -Trust. The ivf process itself is a stressful time and you need to feel confident in the decisions. Agree with all that is said about the billing being an issue. To me, this office seems to me like it would be difficult to serve middle class/lower upper class people who can't pay out of pocket, from my last experience trying to schedule. Dr. Alexander is really cool and calm and has great bedside manner as others note. She was easy to talk to and obviously smart. She had no issues tooting her own horn a bit but hey-whatever-she is smart and I don't fault her for that. It may have been a bit more of that than I'm used to with other physicians I've been to. But I digress. I loved how approachable she was and so well spoken. She was thorough with me. I've since been treated with 4 other docs for the same issues and it was a little unusual to me how many tests she ordered for my bloodwork which have never been ordered by anyone else but I can't say for sure If she was heavy handed because I'm not a doctor. I just invested a lot of time initially for labs and fasting for 4 hours while waiting for more labs etc. The only real issues though came with billing. I wasn't given the option to bill any insurance when I called later on to reconnect after a bit of time away as her patient and was told she was cash only for services. Her staff made it very clear to me that since she's the best, they didn't take any insurance because people wealthy enough (and who want children badly enough), will pay, and she would only accept cash. They didn't use the exact words but implied it when I told them I couldn't pay cash. It really rubbed me the wrong way trying to schedule later on because it didn't seem to me like they cared about helping people truly when they won't accept insurance or if you make it really hard for people to use their insurance. Dr. Alexander seems perfectly pleasant but someone who is out of reach for those of us normal people to see. Hopefully her policy has changed since this. read more

This is a very long overdue review! We are sooooooo blessed to have met Dr. Alexander. We've been struggling with infertility for 8 years prior to meeting her. I was hesitant at first, or in denial of the idea of going through IVF. We told her about our history and struggles. She was very informative and she knew I was a difficult case. SIMPLY THE BEST. the journey through fertility is daunting and very emotional. Dr. Alexander walks you through it with her expertise. She has a calm, collected and "matter of fact" approach. You can see her think a million miles a minute, adjusting protocols to individualize your care, which I appreciated soo much because she doesn't just look at you as a number, but takes your case as a whole and gIves it serious thought. After 1.5years of trying to get pregnant and failing at it (who thought it would be so hard?) , I contacted Dr Alexander. I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility, possibly silent endometriosis. Her team is very responsive, always responding to my phone calls/emails. the clinic is open at 7 AM which allowed me to get in before work for my appts, making the whole experience less stressful. For my own piece of mind, I went to 2 other clinics for a second opinion, but I circled right back to Dr. Alexander for a number of reasons; mainly because she's thorough, up-to-date on all things relating to fertility and she works at a huge facility that has a state of the art embryology lab (which is very important! If you do IVF). lastly and perhaps most importantly, she got me pregnant with just one round of IVF. I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant while I write this review. Dr. Alexander has to be one of the most positive and uplifting people I know. She always says there is one good egg and we just have to find it, and she did for us! One of her mantras is "choose hope" and that has given me so much confidence and peace throughout my IVF and FET journey with her. There is no other doctor I would trust with this very challenging experience. It is hard on so many levels: emotionally, physically, mentally, as well as financially. But throughout it all she was my rock and lighthouse of hope and understanding. ***I DID NOT SEE THE DR. BUT HAVE INFO ABOUT FEES YOU MIGHT NEED*** **Office Charges 2 fees: Dr. Fee + 2nd facility Fee - Details below** Basically, this isn't a standard practice in an office building, instead it's in an outpatient hospital, and they charge a fee for both the doctor's visit and a second "facility" fee, regardless of if you need hospital services or not. The staff at this office was professional and polite, however I wish they'd informed me of this unique extra fee when I'd made the appointment. Instead, I was informed after filling out over 10 pages of paperwork at home and driving in morning rush hour to my appointment. I was referred to Dr. Alexander by another Cedars Dr., and made the appt. b/c she's in my PPO insurance network, making my co-pay only $25. However, once I learned of the Facility Fee, I checked with my insurance. And as I suspected, the facility fee would go against my high deductible, ergo I'd have to pay it all myself. With this info, I cancelled the appointment and walked out the door. The "cash price" for this fee is $375. The price they were going to bill my insurance is, I was told, "much higher." I have health insurance that I pay 3.6K a year for out of pocket for and still I have a 1.5K deductible. It's not a "Cadillac" plan and I've learned that unless proactively question every possible charge, I'm on the hook. That 5 minute call saved me probably $1,000 dollars. That works out to 12K an hour. Yes, my time is worth that much. There are other Drs. in network I can see instead. To be clear, I did not need any services pertaining to an out-patient hospital visit. I was there simply for a consultation. So in my particular case, paying an extra facility fee was unnecessary to the point of being absurd. In a different medical situation, that may not be the case. This is such a classic example of why our nation's health care costs are so out of control. I'm sure there any many with low deductible insurance plans who wouldn't have thought twice about letting insurance pick up this unnecessary expense... which only leads to higher premiums for us all. She truly cares about her patient, which is evident by her checking in with you throughout a cycle, and otherwise treating you like a human being (as opposed to just another number). I went to my first appointment this week with Dr. Alexander and it was a pleasure. After being given the option of surgery from another Doctor for a medical issue I have, my close friend referred me to Dr. Alexander for a second opinion. The Clinic seems to be specific to Fertility, but Dr. Alexander is an OBGYN so she can help with issues outside of just fertility that deal with women's health. I was hoping and praying that there were other options besides going straight to surgery with a LONG recovery time and turns out there are. All I can say is....."What a Relief!" Dr. Alexander walked me through so much information, was easy to talk to and just a really nice person I feel I can trust with my health. I got to see in person results as we talked about my situation. It felt amazing instead of feeling in the dark and trusting the Dr. reading the results after a test I paid LOTS of money for. She gave me step by step details on what happens next and I feel confident instead of fearful as I had before as I reach out to schedule some other appointments and see what works best for my specific situation. The new Patient Coordinator Dominika was also so helpful I felt I needed to give her specifically a shout out. She made me feel so cared for while I went through the process of making appointments, emailing new patient forms and even parking! Also, the Front Desk staff are really nice along with the nurses and everything is in one place. They can do many different tests etc. instead of having to go to different locations and appointments. I recently graduated from working with Dr. Alexander and cannot fully explain what an amazing person and reproductive endocrinologist she is in words alone. She is genuine with a terrific bedside manner and she just oozes the "we're a team in this process" attitude. I was a difficult case with Hypothyroidism, PCOS, Endometriosis and T1 Diabetes (lucky me) and she constantly worked with me and my other physicians to figure out how to optimize our chances of conception. She checked on me constantly during cycles, called the minute any test results were in and was always interested in talking through all available treatment and testing options to ensure we had all our bases covered, including referrals to specialists for extra testing when she thought the results may impact our treatment options. I'm thrilled to report that I'm currently pregnant.
