Sergio is great installer. Hamid was sales rep who is very responsive and will come out and measure any time. Only issue is he seemed offended when you would question prices or want an explanation for prices. Great carpet and quick install. Good company. Response to reply: The owners response is not true. I was actually not given a discount, I was given a higher rate than the rate I paid for a job I had done earlier that SAME week because of "the economy" and a brand new rule that must have just been put in to effect within the few days. Our carpet installation experience began with Hamid, who we called, because Home Depot was unable to start on any carpeting projects for us until past June, which was an issue since my husband and I were expecting a baby in June, and we needed to prepare our home for the baby's arrival. I called Carpet Depot on a Sunday morning, and Hamid took our call. We expressed our need to get carpeting done before the end of May, and we needed someone to come out and measure our home, get a quote, and hopefully, order materials and get it installed. He informed us that he can show up that Sunday afternoon and measure our home, give us a quote, and he explained that, depending on the carpeting material we choose, turn around time may take a week or two to get the carpet materials. I was pleased to hear he offered to come out that same day. Afternoon came, he was ready with samples, and while my husband and I picked the carpet material we wanted, he measured our space. He wasted no time. It probably took him about 15 minutes, we gave him our chosen carpet sample that was good for baby/kids and future pets, and he gave us a quote. Because we had decided to simply pay up front and not have to finance the carpet installation, he offered to add a thicker layer to the underside of the carpet to make it softer for a crawling baby--we were thrilled! A day later, he called (as he said he would) and informed us that they can get the carpet installed a week later. We picked an open date, and a week later, we had the carpet installers arrive at our door right at our 8am appointment, and the carpet in two rooms, a hallway, and a flight of stairs were installed by 1pm. The installers were polite and kind, and they left our home nice and clean afterwards, taking our old carpet with them! I mean, the pictures alone will tell you how nice and smooth of a job they did for our floors. We will definitely recommend them to our family who may need carpeting done in the future. Hamid came to our house and sold us on 200sf of carpet in our bedroom. We put down a $300 deposit and were told they could fit us on the schedule within 3-4 days. We explained to him that due to construction it would take a little time for us to call and ask to be put on their schedule (this was on June 30th. We called today (July 7) and they informed us they would not be able to install our carpet until July 14th. So, we now have to spend an extra 8 days sleeping in our living room as we wait for carpet to be installed in our bedroom. I would not recommend using this company if your project is time sensitive. Also, don't expect them to stick to the time frame they tell you at time of sale. Update: Josh called me within 10 minutes after posting my review informing me he was canceling my order and to find the the carpet elsewhere. He claimed that due to the July 4th weekend they were unable to have anything ship which backed them up and was the cause for the significant delay in the install. So now we have to find another company to do the work Carpet Depot promised to do. Please be careful with what you say in your review as it may cause you to lose your order even if you have already been waiting. Update after Josh's Yelp response: to clarify, I never asked for a refund. Josh told me he was canceling my order and to find it elsewhere. To which I responded with "okay" as I was not going to argue with him. During our conversation I made a statement saying we had already put down a $300 non refundable deposit which sparked the his aggravation with me. He said., " no it is refundable. So, I got in a huge fight with my slumlord re: replacing the disgusting carpet in the apartment I have lived in for over five years with 4 different roommates and a number of different dogs. New roommate was a nice, clean, dog-free individual who DESERVED CLEAN CARPET. So I was on the hunt. Knowing absolutely nothing about carpet except that my landlord gave me a loose budget of cheap f-ing carpet, I went into a few places but most of the carpet seemed either really expensive or really ugly and tackey etc. However, Carpet Depot was totally fab. Owner helped me himself. Great selection. Won't try and scam you. Carpet looks awesome. Fast install. I accidentally did not order enough and they put a seem in the closet but you can't tell at all and my new roommate's room looked great. Strict about the delivery times, but I got caught in a meeting at work and was running late and the delivery guy was totally cool. I still have nasty carpet in my own bedroom --- maybe one day I'll be able to convince my landlord to replace it and I will def be using Carpet Depot at that time. read more
