We just bought new carpet from the guys down the street at Carpet Depot, we bought a new couch from The Love Sac Store, again in Costa Mesa and we also protected all our new furniture, carpet and floors with window film we got from Signature Glass Tinting, again in Costa Mesa. We walked in and we were immediately created by the owner, she was so awesome. She listened to what we wanted and then she starts lining things up. We looked at so many options, figured out the pricing and slid our CC. The tile was ready on time, the finish and overall quality looked great and my contractor said the installation was great. I will just share my email I sent to Kimmara. We had ceramic tile in our kitchen that was original to the home for 30 years and we lived here for 7 years and not a single scratch or chip.  We bought big-box store tiles for the bathroom in 2013 and not a single scratch in 7 years.  We remodeled our entire kitchen in 2019 and decided to pay 3x more for expensive Italian porcelain tile from a dedicated tile store, castle tiles.  We bought extra to put under all our cabinets because we thought it would last. Within a year we had 1 chip on it. I was bummed, but thought it's fine I will just replace it in the future. Within 2 years. We had 3 places with chips and dings. It's completely unacceptable. It is so easily scratched that one time I tried to vacuum and there was a scratch on it. It is incredibly poorly made. See pictures attached. I have no idea what to do at this point. Kimmara responded, Thank you for sending the pictures. I will forward them to the tile vendor along with your explanation. I will get back to you when I hear back from them. 30 days later she sent me: Please let me know if you would like replacement tiles for the 2-3 tiles. Porcelain tile is durable and considered acceptable for floor and wall use. Proper installation and use of the recommended setting materials and grout installation should be followed to avoid breakage, chipping of the tile. Example/ hollow sounds coming from the tile may indicate improper installation and will cause cracking and chipping, tile does not crack or chip on its own. The Tile Vendor said they have not had complaints about the tile, but they can offer to give you replacements for the ones that have chips. Please let me know if you would like to get the replacement tiles and I will order them. I responded Your response somehow insinuates we have incorrectly installed the tile. There is no hollow sound. Installation is not the problem. This tile is very soft. Beyond the chips it is easily scratched. I've attached just a few photos of scratches that will not come off. We are very unhappy with this tile. I urge you to do your own experimentation of how soft the surface of this tile is, instead of immediately take the Vendor's word and blame your customer for installation.  I guess replacements is the only options but it will be very expensive and the longevity is highly questionable. It's been another 22 days and no response. If this is the experience you want to have after spending a lot of money here... read more

After multiple remodeling projects and shopping at most of the tile stores in coastal Orange County and up in Anaheim, Castle Tile was one of the best experiences we had in a tile store. A family business, you can tell they really care about their customers by how hands on they are with the details. Within their footprint (not as big as the mega stores, but still a good size compared to other local tile stores) they fill the space they have with a surprising number of tile options. And most importantly, they have a nice range of contemporary styles that are good quality. Prices are reasonable as well. We bought our bathroom and shower floor tile from Castle Tile, but the owner even helped me with some advice when I had a problem with a different tile that I bought online. Kimmora was a life saver! After realizing our backyard was going to be short by 4 boxes of American Olean Infusion Beige Wege tile I went on a massive man hunt trying to find these 4 boxes. After a week of despair and not being able to wait a 3week turnaround time I finally decided to start calling American Olean retail distributors 5th call I contacted American Olean. Kimmora was delightfully pleasant on the phone contacted her reps at the warehouse found it in stock called me and wanted me to check it out to ensure it was the proper color match as some vendors relabel color codes and if it didnt match she would refund me. Sure enough start of phone call to charging my credit card took less then 30 minutes. I drove to Anaheim and picked up my purchase at the warehouse. I think I spent more time in traffic on the 91 then the 30 minute phone call and the guys at the warehouse getting the tile in my car! Definitely a pleasure and a delight.
