I was looking for a carpet with a pattern that I had seen while skiing at Lake Tahoe. I didn't find exactly what I was looking for but John helped me find a few that I liked. I took the samples home and decided on one that I thought would work well with our paint and furniture. I went online and looked for the same carpet. The best price I found was about 25% higher so I decided to go with Carpet Exchange. We scheduled an installer to come out and measure the area I wanted to carpet. The individual arrived on time and was very professional. Two days later John called me with a final cost and we scheduled the install. The installers arrived on time and before I knew it they had the old carpet out and were cleaning up the sub flour. I had repainted the baseboards and was concerned about them messing up my new paint. They told me that the paint could be scratched while installing but they would try their best not to. I have checked it and haven't found any damage to the paint. We were replacing the carpeting on about 700 square feet. It only took about 3 hours to complete the install and it looks great. I have had several complements on the carpet and the seams are almost imposible to find even though the carpet has a pattern in the pile. I have about 2000 square feet of additional space to carpet and will definitely go back to carpet exchange and John when I am ready to do this. read more

Never having purchased carpet before we decided to shop around. We set up an appointment for another carpet company (after a commercial we saw on tv) to come out and measure and give us an estimate. The estimate was outrageous and the measurements were completely off. The salesman wasn't knowledgeable about his product and had to call his supervisor for all of my questions. We went to the home stores as well albeit to no avail. What we got were pushy salesmen trying to sell us a product that we didn't really want. Meanwhile, we met Patti with Carpet Exchange in Thornton. We explained to Patti what we were looking for and she was very knowledgeable about her products. She immediately understood what we wanted and showed us samples that fit our explanation perfectly. She came out, measured, and her quote was more than half the cost of the other carpet company. The end result was perfect. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Patti was the best and we would definitely use her for our next flooring purchase. We walked in to Carpet Exchange to get some prices on carpet and tile and then we were going to visit two or three other similar businesses and compare but after working with Patti Zehrung, in the Thornton office we decided to make our purchase with her. She is very friendly, open and honest person. I never once felt like she didn't know the product or that she was just trying to make the sell. She always had our best interest when suggesting products and prices. I also feel that she goes above great customer service and gives EXCELLENT customer service at all times.. Also wanted to give a shout out to our Tile installers, they were very prompt and did an incredible job. Carpet is going in this weekend so i will be adding another review for our installers once they are completed. Went to the Thornton Carpet Exchange to order bathroom tilethat I found at Arizona Tile. Patti Z. worked with me, however, the tile that I had a sample of was not yet in stock and it would take a while for me to get the tile. Instead of waiting for the tile, Patti worked with me to find a very similar tile at half the price. I picked up the tile today and my husband likes it better than the one I originally wanted. Patt spent quite a bit of time with me to ensure that I got what I wanted - to boot, she saved me about $400. Yippee. Customer service form Patti was great - she called when she promised and made sure that everything was just the way I wanted it. I have more projects to do in the future and will visit Carpet Exchange again for my needs. Did not have installation done by Carpet Exchange, so I cannot comment on that. read more

11-16-2012 I went carpet shopping all week long the last week in September. I had read some bad reviews on Carpet Exchange so that was the last place I went. When I got there Patti Z., came up to help me right away. We looked around found some carpeting within my budget. This was on a Friday, I had some remodeling being done on my house, and I thought it would be finished by Monday and that was not a problem! Well, needless to say the job at my house got postponed and I put off the carpet. When the job finally got finished I went back to Patti, put the order in and my carpet was installed that weekend !!! The installer was so nice, did a very nice job and cleaned up after himself perfectly. She took the time to answer all of our questions & gave us full information on the carpet we selected. A couple of hours later, she was at our house, measured the rooms and gave us the total price. We were able to schedule the installation to the date we wanted, and everything went great. The installers were very professional too and did a wonderful job! We had started our search for carpet and had checked out Lowe's and Home Depot. We decided to check out Carpet Exchange since they were the ones who had put our carpet in our basement a few years back ago. Upon entering the store we were greeted by Patti Zehrung. She showed us several selections of carpet but we kept going back to the same style each time. We narrowed it down to three colors but really wanted to see how each one looked. She came out the following day to measure and brought each of the three samples with so we could get a good idea as to which one would look best in our home. We shopped at four carpet places, chose Carpet exchange due to sales staff, Chris Cline in particular. He showed us carpet we described to him as far as what color and style we wanted. We felt NO pressure as we did when Empire Today came to our house for an estimate - they offered us carpet that we didn't want stated we could get a better deal, but not the color or style, besides, they were WAY too pushy!! Even though Carpet Exchange was a bit more than Home Depot or Lowes, we went with Carpet Exchange due to sales staff, quick installation time, and a carpet we loved. Installer was great; he was polite, courteous, and completed the job above expectations. Nothing but good things to say about Chris and the Carpet Exchange. I went into the Thornton store a few months ago to price #1 red oak (unfinished) for my entire main level flooring. Patti was able to give me the correct information from the beginning and it was available to me in just a couple of days. Even the management was helpful and accommodating. I have since placed two additional orders and the price is has been exactly what I was quoted and in a very timely fashion. I was skeptical about going in because it looks expensive, but they are a one stop shop. I recommend you try them out if you are at all shopping for any type of flooring. Our carpet started to wear funny and show significant signs of breakdown within 6 months of installation. When I went to the store to inquire about the warranty, I was informed that they no longer carried that carpet and would have to get it from the corporate office. The next thing I know, a carpet inspector is at the house looking at the carpet and investigating the situation. A few weeks later, I get a letter in the mail from the corporate office stating that my warranty claim has been denied. The damage to the traffic area's is my fault for not putting walk off area mats down, all other damage they claim is from our dogs. Not ONCE did they provide me with an answer to my original question about the warranty of the carpet. read more

We needed to carpet one of our bedrooms without spending a ton of money. We were helped by a very friendly staff member by the name of Patti Zehrung. She showed us the different prices, but when we asked for the cheapest price, she directed us to the lower cost carpet. When asked how large of a room, we said just a bedroom. Patti asked us for the size of room and immediately took us to the back for the left over carpets and showed us the different carpet with each amount that would be the right size. Updating a previous review now that the job is done...Barbara at Carpet Exchange was amazing at helping us choose flooring after our flood. We were using the restoration company for the rebuild (labor), but everything went seamlessly! From the selection, to the purchase, to picking up the materials (and getting us a piece we forgot to order within an hour), we were pleased! Barbara gave us the amazing idea to use the flooring for our stair risers, and helped us find a remnant for the treads....and it came out so great! As a returning customer, I felt comfortable just giving the Thornton store a call to talk about laminate flooring and Sales Manager Jerry LeVay immediately set up a free in home measure to get me started. That weekend, I arrived at the store and Jerry greeted me at the door and we went over the measure. She was a delight to work with and knew her products very well. She came out to our house the next morning and measured for us. DO NOT USE PATTI AT THE THORNTON STORE!!!! SHE DOES NOT SHOW UP FOR APPOINTMENTS !!! It looks like someone else had complained about her already ...so take this advice.... she didnt even offer an apology even after i told her i waited 4 hours for her and at the same time i was dealing with a major sewer repair that same day...i did not need this treatment...she sucks!!!!..i would go to another company but Carpet Exchange is the only place that has my vinyl....I'm going to try another store..FORGET THE THORNTON STORE EVERYBODY!!!! read more

This was one of the best places I have ever been in. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly lady(Patti Zehrung). Patti was very knowlegleable about all the products. Patti answered all of our questions. She showed us the differences in different carpets. When we decided on a carpet and color. She checked to make sure they had it in stock.
