It took some time and patience, but after quite a bit of back and forth, we reached a satisfactory resolution, and our floors now look great. Stay calm and kind. Most of the people you speak with are not decision-makers; they relay your issues to those who are. If you treat them kindly, they will "fight" for you and prioritize you as a customer. If you're not satisfied, ask to speak with managers and have all your information and proper documentation ready. Again, I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to remain calm and kind. You can achieve a reasonable resolution. Don't give up and they will make things right.

The salesman did not notice that there was tile below the current floor or even think it might be an asbestos floor. I know he saw the floor because I watched him. When the installer showed up, he said he could not install because of the asbestos. I had it remediated and the installer came back. He put in the new floor but refused to move the furniture into the rooms or re-install the closet doors. He said they did not tell him he had to do this so he did not have a crew with him to do it. His supervisor promised another appointment in a few days to move everything back. I began calling Empire a day or so later to confirm the appointment and was told there was not one. Each call I made to them told me something different. Finally they told me that they would not move furniture into a room that they did not take it out of or re-install doors that they did not take down. My contract was clear that they move furniture in and out. There was one larger dresser that we could not get into the room and had to hire some moving guys to do that and of course, to pay for that. Empire has offered me a credit of $140 which is just a token to me. The salesman, the installer, the people on the phone, the supervisor, they all had a different story for the issues we were having. Hence, I would not recommend this company. And if you use them, not only get it in writing but record your phone calls (totally illegal) but I wish that I had.

He ensured the team did top notch clean up every night and put as much of the house back to normal each night to ensure it was livable. Angel even mocked up suggestions for us to pick for transitions and had excellent ideas from his 20 years of experience. We added on carpeting two sets of utility stairs (garage/unfinished basement), and then dropped the knowledge on him that we had purchased LVT for our kitchen and entry that we needed to install as well. Surprisingly, we were able to tack that on to the quote and job. I'm super happy about the cash discount offered!! Cash is Queen! The installers busted their backsides. The LVT guys were here a few days to prep (as we had flooring under flooring, and uneven underlayment). They did everything I asked of them and also presented me with options throughout the process. Because of this, I know that down the road if I change out this new flooring, the process will be easier. Very happy! They were also super clean and respectful of my home. The carpet installers were amazing! My dumb self made an error (couldn't find the remnants after install) and my word they were nice about it. (They were literally right in front of my eyes in the basement and for some reason, I couldn't see them. I felt so dumb. lol) The carpet looks amazing too! I just keep using that word---amazing. My concern was that I had over 12 yards of carpet left over- according to Dave (Manager and person who measured), that was to be expected due to 'repeat design' and stairs couldn't be done any other way to piece together instead of cutting 3 feet of carpet for stairs off a 16 foot roll, leaving me with $400 of excess carpet which he states he could only sell as remnant for $75-100. Additionally, was to be 'free installation' which ended up costing me another $419 due to it being laid on concrete and 'repeat design', as well as separate charge for stairs. I would also recommend requesting and reviewing a written estimate as the original that was sent me. The actual ended up being almost $500 more than my final cost, including Illinois versus Wisconsin sales tax

We were shown samples of Mohawk carpet at our house and we chose "Homefront 3" (the highest quality) but we were deceived and forced to accept an inferior quality but same color carpet to be installed. We also asked them verbally and in writing many times to bring the same samples shown to us before at our house along with the carpet we chose to be installed first before the installation so that we can match what we chose and we would be getting, but this highly rude owner (David Simon) of this company not only refused to do so as per agreement but also compelled us to come to his showroom again and see the sample and the carpet there which made no sense because he could have shown us any thing to there which did not mean that we would be getting the same carpet we chose to be installed at hour house. But having no choice and paying half money in advance in cash (he preferred to be paid by cash) we went to his showroom and he showed a small (about 8X10 feet) piece of carpet of the same color with no manufacturer's specification on it which seemed lesser in thickness and quality, so we refused to accept it. At that point he started yelling at us and he was very disrespectful with my wife. When we demanded our money back, not only he refused to do so but also challenged us to do whatever we can. We left his showroom with disappointment and regret why we chose to do business with this company. Having no choice again, we decided to accept the inferior quality carpet he was trying to sell. So, my wife called him to agree with him, but at this point he was more ruder and dictatorial and said that he does not trust us (we are senior citizens) and if we have to install the carpet I do not know when it would be installed but if we agree to do so. you have to pay the remaining half money in advance in cash. This was another violation of the sales agreement (by way the the sales agreement this company wrote for us without our consent has no terms and conditions on it in case either party defaults or want to cancel or to seek amendment in it). We felt like a hostage at this point and kept thinking what to do to get out of this enforced mess on it. Finally we requested an attorney from a church to seek help. This attorney is a nice man but very old and retired an we did not know his license was inactive and not able to take this company to court. He was of no help and for some reasons spoke in favor of this mighty company and told us to avoid being sued by this company. Now it is more than two months this company is not only holding our money illegally but demanding more money and threatening to sue us because he knows it is going to cost us more to go to court, and when as matter of fact neither this company ever delivered and installed the carpet we chose at our house nor even followed the flawed sales agreement it wrote for us. For some reasons there are many reviews in favor of this company but please read the reviews of a few victims of this company specially when it comes the review Ms. Nancy S. She faced the same what are being made to suffer.
