We wanted new carpet and new hardwood in our home. I had checked other places like Costco and S & G. No one came close to Carpeteria. I went in last December but decided to wait till after the first of the year. I met with Richard Perez at the Hamilton location. In December he came out and measured. He remembered me a month later. Helped me pick what I wanted and the whole process was done in two weeks. He was wonderful with explaining everything to me and giving me a great deal, and making it happen on time. I was able to reach him anytime I needed to, which is important. I had a closet installed and after ordering I was never able to get ahold of the sales person. He came to our home the afternoon we first came in, took measurements, and suggested a carpet color we had not originally considered, but we are very happy with the choice. The two installers were prompt, courteous and professional. In less than a day and a half they removed old carpet and pad, from 4 bedrooms, closets and a long hallway, moved all furniture, professionally installed the new carpet and pad and moved the furniture back. I was severely disappointed by my most recent purchase at Carpeteria. I had ordered 3 wood t-molding transition pieces to match a previous hardwood floor purchase. It took about 2 months before the wood showed up, which itself wasn't a big deal, but I should have taken that as a warning sign as clearly they didn't have what I had ordered and did a bait-and-switch rather than telling me what I ordered was not available and refunding my money. What showed up were t-moldings that were not the type of wood that I had ordered (they were quite expensive and my expecation was that the t-mold wood would match the type of hardwood floor wood I previously purchased), but rather a relatively cheap wood t-molding with some stain on it in an attempt to match the color. Given the time and expense in actually getting the product home, I was originally willing to eat the cost and figure it was a lesson learned, but... ...the t-moldings that I had ordered were 84 inches in length, and what showed up was only 78 inches. Three pieces of 84 inches each was enough to cover the area I needed (total 243 inches), but three pieces of 78 inches is not (only 236 inches). Given that both the type of wood and wood length was not as ordered, clearly this was not the product that was originally represented. So not only did I get switched on the wood cost/stain, but the length wasn't as much as I ordered and I have to go buy more t-molding anyway. In hindshight, I should have gone to Home Depot to get some basic t-molds, stained them with a color that was close to what I was looking for, and saved myself a few hundred dollars. To be fair, my first purchase of the original hardwood was good, and fairly priced. But the follow-on transaction was enough to really sour my impression on this establishment. read more

I found Daryl to be one of the worst sales people I have ever met. He would change the quote for the work based on his mood. He was unprofessional, he would offer unsolicited political advice and use "lol" in business emails. He refused to give a detailed written proposal for the work and when pushed he upped the price for the project be $1,000! Claimed he was a "no bullsh*t" guy but seemed to lie about that. He warned the the product we wanted was running out of stock but was quoting the wrong product and he did it over and over again. Kept on repeating that he has walked away from jobs in the past as if it were a threat. By far the worst experience I've had with a company in years. I can't believe it. After visiting and talking to many carpet venders I finally decided to go with Kris at Carpeteria who gave us excellent service not to mention a killer deal. She knows her stuff and instilled confidence in us that Carpeteria would stand behind their installation. The installers came out today and were through within a couple of hours. The carpet color is awesome and so is very soft to the touch. I am very happy with my purchase. I would have given this five stars, but the carpet we chose did not have orderable large samples. This is what customer service should be! A little background. I had visited this location 2 years ago just to buy a remnant and have it bound. Darrell was very helpful in this little purchase and made a great impression on me and my sister. When it came time to replace the carpet in my parent's living room, I had no thought of any other place but Carpeteria on Hamilton. We had specific needs for my elderly parents and their habits and handicaps and Darrell understood. I had to take samples home several times over several weeks to get the extended family's opinion before finally tuning to Darrell for help. It is one thing to have knowledgeable and helpful salespeople, but it is quite another to have salespeople who have years of real-world installation expertise, and who literally don't rest until the job is done right, and the customer is happy. These are rare and old-fashioned values nowadays, but this is what you get from Lon at Carpeteria. Lon made multiple visits to our site to make sure we were happy with every last detail of the installation, and was gracious and professional at every turn. My strong advise to anyone thinking about using Carpeteria, Don't. Poor quality, very poor workmanship, and when you complian about it, they send someone to evaluate the work. That person spent more than two hours taking pictures and getting on your nerve, then writes a report that says nothing. Then as a favour to you they send another installer to fix the poor work they have done, and that second person makes it worse, and that is it. Sue them, or live with it. read more

I went there recently with a tile problem and met a very unhelpful lady, This person was cold , unfriendly and uninformed and if I ever intended buying here I changed my mind very quickly. I have been in California for several months now and I have to say that she was the most unfriendly and disinterested person I have come across. I had an excellent experience at this location. I was helped by Kris, she was knowledgeable and polite throughout the entire process. Our first visit to this location, we got lost and arrived about 15 mins before closing, Kris was there and she didn't rush us and was willing to keep the store open so we could get a good look around and ask questions. I made a follow up appointment and requested to have my house measured...upon return, I found that Kris had meticulously measured and documented the areas to be carpeted at my house, no stone was left unturned! I spent about an hour and a half trying to decide on which carpet piles and colors and styles to pick. Kris was helpful and understanding of my indecisiveness...she even gave me recommendations based my preferences. I took her advice and I am very happy with how my carpet turned out! I purchased carpet for my hallway, stairs, landing, and two bedrooms. I love the carpeting and the installation went in perfectly. Kris also provided cleaning and care instructions on how to get the best life out of my carpet. read more

We had a day and night experience with this shop, unfortunately, I believe the difference was in the sales person. This is very unfortunate for Carpeteria, which should be very careful in screening their sales people. Early in the year, we purchased hardwood floor, I believe the sales person was Les, and we were very satisfied as he gave us a very professional service. As the floor was finished, we needed the transition pieces for the room boundaries. We went back to Carpeteria and was helped by Kris, who helped us order what we needed. Based on the info that she told us, we figured that we needed 3 pieces, so we paid in advance and on the receipt it clearly stated 3 x 7.5'. Well, when we finally got the pieces, the label stated 84" (inches), which are shorter than what was stated in the receipt (7.5 feet = 90 inches). When we measured the actual length of the wood itself, they all measured 78 inches, which would not cover what we need!! So we raised the issue with Kris, who will "talk to her manager". This was a few days before Thanksgiving. After several frustrating exchanges of phone calls, which included a trip to the store to show the pieces of wood (which she requested we left there), there was still no resolution! The last call was particularly frustrating, as she was telling me that the standard cut was 66 inches!!!! Ok, so now, we have FOUR different measurements: what was stated on the receipt (and what we paid for), what the product label stated, the actual measurements and what she claimed the standard was. I asked her how she expected anyone to plan their work with changing standards???!!! This is just about the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! She kept asking how much length that we need, and I kept telling her that we need 3 x 7.5 - just as we had paid for and stated in the receipt. I finally said that if she/Carpeteria could not deliver what we had paid for, I want my money back. She said that she would talk to her manager (yet again), to give our money back. Let's see how long it will take her to get our money back, hopefully we WILL see the money!! read more

The lady at the store, Kris is very rude. She came over to my house and took measurements and asked me to go to the store to decide on the carpet for a quote. When I went to the store, I noticed that they also stocked a few really small Karstan/Persian rugs (2ftX4ft). I asked her the price and she said $300, when I asked her if they will go o sale ever....she mentioned that rich people will buy it. I have never seen or experienced such terrible customer service before. Either Carpetria needs to get their act together or train staff how to deal with customers. I will never recommend such a place to anyone.... I got my floors done by another company that is very respectful to customers and they did a great job! read more

This lasy, who is supposedly the manager is freaken horrible, the worst service ever! She surely did not wake up on the right side of the bed. She didnt even want to give me a quote and asked that I calculate the total cost on my own, stating that everything is simple calculations and they do not provide quotes.. She was just freaken lazy. First carpet store I know of that does not give quotes on services that they provide.. No wonder why this place is a freaken ghost town. read more

Bought our carpets approx. 12 years ago. Over time they developed speed bump like lumps. Not everyone has wall to wall carpets throughout their house, but we do. Did I mention we bought them 12 years ago. Anyway, I called Carpeteria and although the carpets were beyond warranty, they sent out their installers to give me an estimate. A couple of days later, Alfonso A. and his assistants showed up, surveyed the carpets in each room and offered me a very reasonable price to stretch them. They immediately went to work stretching, trimming, and reattaching my carpets. I tried to help them move the furniture, but they wouldn't have. They even worked around my grand piano. Talk about friendly, competent, and energetic installers? These are the guys. My wife and I are very pleased with their attitude and their work ethic. They cleaned up thoroughly after themselves leaving our home looking great and leaving a good impression of Carpeteria. So when it comes time for the carpets to go, and replacing them with hardwood floors throughout, I think I know who I'm going to call. Thank you Carpeteria. read more

You guys at Carpeteria are such liers. We dont care about what was emailed. I told your Employee I will sign and invoice and we will drop by the office to pay by credit card. My wife and I drove there and your employee there charge our credit card for $100 deposit. Thats it. You guys took our payment. We signed for the payment. Your employee Miguel knew that we are only signing the Invoice because he said he want to order the carept so We did. We told him we dont feel safe emailing our card number and since we are only one block away from the office we will drop by. So what is wrong with that option????. Please don't respond to us like you are treating some 5 year old. Your employee started playing games saying since your dropped the price to $2600 from $2800 ( $200 discount ) now manager wants half down. ????. He said he we didnt ask for discount the $100 was ok. He told us this one day after you took our payment. There were no issue of whos card this and that. My wife and I are on the same credit card account and I can prove it in court that you are trying to cover up your business scam using other methods. You just wanted more deposit money and once you got us all Upset then you started playing the credit card game but if we were to pay you more then all would have been ok. Shame on you guys for wasting our time and money. I also have other proofs that will make you be a shame of your business practice and I am holding on to it for State Attorney's office. We went through very rough time with this business. Recently on 10th of this month the carpet people(4) came to install the carpet. The following were observed:- !. They were removing the old carpet just like a thunderstrom has come in the house. 2. There was no consideration as to what is breaking or not. I have wire type of shelves in all my room closets,supported by 6feet vertical .25" square tube. Plastic clamps are used to support is shelves. They broke these supports of my shelves. When I talked with Kris Zwierz-ciok, She told me that installers say that supports were already broken. I told her that they are lying plus she must have noticed when she came to my home for measurement. I have sent her broken clamp pieces as desired by her but no reply. 3. Doors of the closets are not re-installed properly. 4. The charge excess footage of carpet from customer than the ACTUAL FOOTAGE used at home. PLEASE: I request everyone to be more vigilant from this. Spent time, be knowledgable, not sign blindly the contract form as I did as I was thinking they are good people. Carpeteria installed an Armstrong Sheet Vinyl in our kitchen and adjoining tv room. Our second floor installed by Carpeteria. We had a laminate installed in the kitchen that has lasted 12 years. From the first time (I went into the store many times with questions) I visited the store and started working with Kris to installation. Kris was very professional and courteous. Once I figured out the product she came out to the house to measure and offer her opinion about transition pieces and how to lay the vinyl. She went out of her way to order extra samples of items that they did not carry in the store. When I could not make up my mind she was very patient. She also was very knowledgeable about all of the products. She went above and beyond to figure out the best way to lay the sheet vinyl, showing her designer expertise. I really enjoyed working with Kris and would work with her again in the future. Furthermore, I have nothing but rave reviews for the man Bemave Morales (and his assistant) who went above and beyond to lay the vinyl. That had to work very hard to prepare the surface in both rooms before they laid the vinyl. They never complained and it was over 90degrees! They worked solidly from morning until late evening to get the job done. We were blown away by Bermave's expertise, and his meticulous work. He was a true artist through the whole process. We basically got a new floor underneath the vinyl (at no extra charge other than the original prep charges we were quoted). He informed us this was the only way that the vinyl would lay flat and perfect and last. They did everything from stripping old paint and glue to adding a new sub floor and a new cement floor in the tv room. All perfectly. Then when he cut and laid the vinyl it is perfect. It is important when laying vinyl that there are not many seams so that it does not get worn down and come away from the floor. Bernard cut and laid the vinyl so well that unless we saw where he had to make the seam, we would not have been able to tell. Everyone raves about the floor and can't believe it is seamless. We love the floor and we are so pleased with the quality of service and very reasonable prices. Lastly, while I did not work with the manager Gary Simpson personally, I know that he has only the best installers and employees working for him. He consistently does his best to provide the best quality of product, pricing and service. This is the second time we have used Carpeteria and we will use them again in the future. read more

I usually do not write yelp reviews, but I thought this one was really warranted. I am not sure if it was the company or if I was mislead by the sales guy. To be very fair, the experience started to be very positive. Darrel was the sales person and he walked us through different options. We decided on the options and we discussed preliminary pricing based on my square footage - which I believe is more than the actual measured sqft. The reason that we were changing carpets were that there was a fire in our house and we did get some insurance money to to change carpets. Since we were already in the process of changing carpets, we thought we might as well upgrade to hardwood floors. The day of the measure came and that is when the problems started. Darrel brought in carpet samples and said that this was an higher end carpet and would cost more money. This was the first sign of trouble. I mentioned that I had got a quote from a different provider and quoted a particular number. He did mention that the number was low - but will check with his management to see if could meet it. I asked him to give a final quote. He came back few days later and said that he would pass off the opportunity because the cost was too low. That is acceptable - everybody has to work on a margin and I do understand that. But the biggest thing that pissed me off - was that he started lecturing me on what I should do regarding by repairs and claimed that the insurance would have given more money for the same and not to go with some low level crooks. Hellooo - this is none of his business. I am trying to upgrade to a better carpet and hardwood out of my own pockets. This has nothing to deal with insurance. I am not sure if this is a problem with the company as a whole or the sales rep - but I would never recommend them to anyone read more

With a son who is a small business owner I know there is nothing that motivates him like a good yelp reviews for jobs well done. And for a homeowner there is nothing more exciting than when we get spectacular results for our hard earned money. First, in 2010 I had Armstrong laminate flooring (Grand Illusions, American Apple) installed in my living and dining rooms. It is gorgeous and over going-on 7 years I have dropped heavy objects couple times and glasses of liquid few times, and it has held up to my abuse. So for the Armstrong product I give it 5 out of 5 stars. My elderly mother now lives with me, and the number of devices that she needs that have rolling wheels convinced me to remove the plush carpeting from her bedroom as well as the hallway connecting front of house with her room. The saleslady that helped me in 2010 at Carpeteria is no longer there (she had done a perfect job), and my salesman this time was Darrell Lewis. He is a delightful man, competent but also personable and honest. I explained what I was trying to accomplish and between us I realized that the best solution was to extend the same laminate down the hallway and through my mother's room. Darrell gave me a price that I considered to be extremely reasonable and competitive. I was also very afraid of having the installation done in a drenching rainy season, and he helped me to get the installation scheduled with perfect timing. The install team did a spectacular job -- that's the bottom line; they are truly professional tradesmen. So my hard earned money, which I felt was spent not only reasonably but perhaps was a pricetag less than I could have gotten anywhere else, was well spent. i am overjoyed at the job that was done, the beautiful result, and the Carpeteria (Campbell) process with Darrell from START to FINISH. It is so rewarding to be able to truly compliment for a job both perfectly done and reasonably priced. Thank you Carpeteria and Darrell and the install team! (And, the rolling devices -- wheelchair, walker, lift -- roll perfectly on the laminate. AND it is so gorgeous.) read more
