Chose these guys because of their reviews, and they more than lived up to the praise. Tim was amazing....super-fast response, able to come out and give a quote less than 24 hours after first contact. He gave us lots of options, and helped steer us to materials that would work with our budget, and would look incredible. And they do - the wood floor is lustrous and gleaming - the tile is elegant...we could not be more pleased. The turnaround time also - he knew we were in a bit of a rush, and orchestrated the three-part process to be done in less than a week. I REALLY needed carpet installed ASAP and it was almost impossible due to the Holidays (apparently carpet is on everyone's Christmas Wishlists). I called up Carpets by Conrad, and not only were they able to install it the day after I called, I saved $250 from the quote that Home Depot gave me and I was able to get the same pattern. The next day, Roberto showed up at a reasonable time and they were able to install it in a reasonable time. Also, I thought my cats had run out of the door, so they actually helped me in trying to locate them (turns out they were hiding under the mattress blanket that was in the hallway). Because of the horrific freeze in Texas in February of 202, had two pipes burst that flooded my entire downstairs. The wood floors started puckering on the ends and the claims adjuster said a complete replacement was in order. A friend who had her floors replaced several years said she was very pleased with Carpets by Conrad, so I contacted them and scheduled a time to look at their samples. Tess was very helpful and patient as I spent quite a while assessing them. I homed in on three, she allowed me to take the samples home to see them against my furnishings, walls, etc. I homed in on one and Tess provided me with a quote within 24 hours. I moved forward and we scheduled the installers to come out in about two weeks. The installers were very friendly and professional and did an awesome job. In addition to installing the floors, they installed all of the baseboards and quarter-round, since it too was damaged by the water. If you are in the market for flooring, I can tell you that Carpets by Conrad delivers in every way! This summer, my husband and I decided to update our house as a 31st anniversary gift to one another. This project includes remodeling all the rooms on the first floor of our house, including the master bedroom, which needed new flooring. It is my pleasure to give a review to Carpets by Conrad. Because of their design, sales, and installation abilities, we are moving back into a beautiful master bedroom update through expert flooring product recommendations by their salesman, Mark, and precision installation by a professional named Jason. In 2005, we removed the dated carpet with tile on the first floor, except for the master bedroom. At that time, we replaced the carpet with tile from Carpets by Conrad. After seven years, we enjoyed the tile floor so much, we decided to tile our master bedroom during this 2012 remodeling project. We needed to match the tile we purchased previously to get the right look, so my husband and I returned to Carpets by Conrad for help. I was excited to learn that they still had detailed information from my previous purchase, and Mark offered a free in-home consultation, during which ideas for the bedroom update are generated. Mark came to our house with several complimentary tile options, as well as great design knowledge, including his assessment of the rooms dimensions and other variables, which guided his recommendations and ideas. Carpets by Conrad let me bring recommended tile samples home, and they let me keep them for a couple of weeks. I realized this summer how rare that is! They never pressured me to purchase from them or to hurry (also very rare), which helped a lot. Remodeling on a budget takes much thought and time, and research for me. Their no-pressure, yet responsive, style of business is refreshing. Although I truly appreciated the fact that they gave me all the time necessary to decide on the floor I wanted; however, once I made a decision, the installation was scheduled for the following week. Their installer, Jason, was professional, prompt, courteous, and skilled. He went the extra mile during the preparation phase, and he made a trip to a nearby home center to get materials to do some unexpected leveling of our floor surface. When he arrived, I still was unsure of what grout color to use, and he was very helpful with information on how to restore our original grout to look like the new grout he used in the bedroom. Less than two weeks after I decided which options to choose, I have a beautiful new master bedroom, with a gorgeous custom-designed tile floor which flows seamlessly with the rest of the previously-tiled floor downstairs. Carpets by Conrad's contributions to this remodeling project have exceeded my expectations. I paid a little more than I might have using a big box store, but the service these professionals provide reminded me of what customer service means to a customer and home-owner. I requested a quote online from carpets by Conrad and got a pretty quick response to call them about the quote. Before I called I decided to go by their store and check it out to see what kind of samples they had. They were not very busy, only one other set of customers in the store. There were two people working, one was on the phone and he was the one helping the other couple. The other was behind a computer and seem to hide when I walked by. No one ever tried to greet me or ask me if I needed help or anything! So I went out to my car and called the lady that they told me to call for the quote, who is the manager of fashion floors which is a sister store of carpets by Conrad. I told her about my experience going into the store and she told me "oh those guys they do that sometimes" and proceeded to help me try to get the quote. We set up a time Saturday morning for her to come over and measure and then I was going to go look at samples at their store up north. I waited for an hour at my house for her to come she never showed up and I still have yet to get a call. I was excited to use carpet by Conrad because they had such good yelp reviews five stars from every customer practically and everybody seemed very impressed and complementary of their work. I am very disappointed at the way my quote has been handled thus far and will find another company to use. I am more upset at the fact that I had an appointment set up and no one ever showed up, than the poor customer service in-store. read more

I just had nearly all of my 20+ year old flooring replaced - and Tim and his team made it a great experience! My floors look great - and I love the new baseboards! (I was surprised at how inexpensive new baseboards were - and they really made our new floors "pop"! If you have builder grade baseboards, do yourself a favor and get a quote on new ones!) Our house flooded in May, we were devastated. It was hard enough losing all your belongings but having to figure out how to rebuild and with what money added another layer of stress to an already overwhelming situation. I contacted Tim for an estimate and he came to Bastrop with out hesitation. The process was easy and we quickly were given an estimate that was lower than expected. You can do tons of research online but having someone come to your house and give an estimate is really the way to go! Tim was understanding and extremely helpful. He allowed us to order and hold our supplies in his warehouse until we were ready for the install, which was over 60 days after we ordered it. Sherry Miller (Carpets by Conrad) took advantage of the Onion Creek flood victims. They had installed and reinstalled (after the flood) all my wood floors.....total of $25,000, which I thought would make me a "Good Customer". Sherry told me she had an employee, Brian, that could clean my appliances (refrigerator, washer/dryer, dishwasher, freezer and icemaker. Brian did not have a trailer to pick up the appliances, but Sherry said "No Problem"....her sons would pick them up and deliver them back to me after Brian Cleaned them and Tested them. First of all, Brian was a JOKE!!!! He did not clean, nor did he test them. I had to replace all appliances and they ALL still had Onion Creek mud all throughout. Sherry billed me over $1,100 just to transport the appliances and I paid Brian over $2,000 for....what, I do not know. I did not have electricity when the appliances were returned, so it was a week, or so, before I could plug them in. I was out over $3,000 FOR NOTHING!! Several contractors have told me they will not work with Sherry.....they have their own issues. I have only posted one other review and it was a positive review for Anderson Windows. Our new carpets have been done for only five minutes. Even though I have a ton of personal affects to put back on my furniture, etc. I HAVE to write a glowing review right now. This company and its people are THAT GOOD. We found Carpets by Conrad via our realtor long ago. So glad we held onto that piece of info. We initially went to Home Depot as we had done previously. But it was a long process, the quote cost $$$ and once all the fees were added in, it was more than we initially expected (those "***" after a number add up!). And we just weren't impressed with the service. So we fortunately remembered the Carpets by Conrad rec, called and spoke with Mike. He was able to give us a lot of helpful info over the phone. The next biz day, I ducked in and was helped by Mark. He asked three questions and BAM! Right away, had the exact carpet we would have wanted in hand, in a fabulous price range. I'm someone who researches every option but I started the process right then and there with Mark- that's how impressed I was. Only two days later, our carpet came in! They scCheduled us for a few days later, saying the installers would be there at 9:30. What? No annoying 9-1 or 1-5 window? Wow. Get this- the installers were actually EARLY! They called to see if it would be okay to begin a little ahead of time. Both Joe and George introduced themselves, kindly declined my offers for drinks and got started. Joe had me verify the work, cracking silly jokes and displaying a fabulous attitude along the way. They were incredibly through with the install. They cleaned as they went. They even solved problems that were beyond their work, such as fixing a squeaky stair. Both were very friendly to our crazy dog and busy child (who now wants to be a carpet installer!). Every piece of furniture was put back exactly where it originally was. They even worked around all our internet and wifi connections so we could stay online. Joe and George's attention to detail and meticulous care were waaaaaaay beyond any expectations we had. I only wish we had more stuff to do around our house- this was the most seamless experience. Normally when I've worked with a company to do rennovations around the house, one person in the group may be great, but the rest not so much. From start to finish, Carpets by Conrad were absolutely outstanding. They know their stuff! And I think it says a lot that all the employees have been with the company forever. Beware of Carpets by Conrad (CBC). This company had a great reputation, which is why we recently hired CBC for a $15k flooring project, but we had to part ways with them partway through the job because their workmanship was shoddy and the owner was extremely argumentative and concealed a major error. Apologies for the length of this review, but I feel that I owe it to the community to share our experience. This fall we worked with Tim, the owner, on planning a whole-house flooring project. Tim was very friendly and helpful during the sales process. Of three bids we received for carpet, tile, and hardwoods throughout our home, CBC was the most expensive, but we chose them anyway because of their great reputation. I'm sad to say we have been deeply disappointed by the workmanship and the customer service, and sorely regret using CBC. It began with the carpet upstairs. Although we asked for some squeaky boards to be screwed down before they laid the new carpet, the installation crew blew us off and didn't do it, so now every time we walk down the hall, the floor squeaks. The major problem we had, though, was with the tile in the bathrooms. We selected large-format (12x24") tile. The tile was installed uneven and not flush (i.e., the edge of one tile was noticeably higher/lower than the adjacent tile). It looked terrible. When we brought this up with Tim, he argued with us in a very heated exchange and said that our expectations were unreasonable, that the tile was installed properly, and that we were not in the industry so we don't know how it was supposed to look. I thought that maybe my expectations were too high, so I brought in three different people in the industry to separately inspect the job, and all said that the tile was laid improperly. None had a job on the line, so they had no incentive to criticize the work. I also researched how large-format tile is supposed to be installed and discovered that the tile manufacturer and industry standards (ANSI) require installation at no more than a 1/3 overlap to avoid the unevenness we experienced. CBC installed the tile at 50% overlap. When I asked Tim how he could claim the tile was installed properly when it was against industry standards and the manufacturer requirements, he had no explanation nor did he apologize. At that point, we had lost trust in Tim and informed him that we would not be using CBC for the hardwood flooring. We had paid him 50% down (almost $8000), and we asked for a refund of $3750, the portion that covered the tile and part of the wood floor project. That was in November 2016. We are still waiting on our refund. I am sad to have to report this, and I hope that our experience was an anomaly, but based on the poor workmanship, poor customer service, and Tim's argumentativeness and failure to refund our money, we deeply regret using CBC and would not recommend the company. read more

I was disappointed with my experience with Carpets By Conrad and will not use them again. I had carpeting installed in my entire second story and down the stairs. Only one installer arrived on the designated day. He worked for ten hours doing the entire job by himself. I have no problem with him as he worked incredibly hard. I do have a problem with the company allowing this to happen, he really needed a helper. I even helped by vacuuming after the old carpeting was removed. There were a few places on the stairs I thought could have been done better so I called the sales rep to come out the next day. He came and agreed it could probably be improved. Two weeks later another worker appeared at the door (without calling ahead), looked at the stairs and said nothing could be done. There has been no more contact. read more

UPDATE: The October 31 repair left the seam the same since Bernardo said there was nothing wrong with the seam and the appearance was expected. The patch area was sub par and concrete was visible by the molding. I entered the Yelp review out of frustration without contacting Mark first. On Nov 28th Mark contacts me after reading the review. He did not know from Bernardo that I was not happy with their repair. On Dec 5th Mark and manager Tim came to look at the carpet. They agreed that the seam is quite visible due to the hump the tape underneath had created. They agreed the patch area was not satisfactory. On Dec 10th Paul R rolled a spiked seam roller across the visible seam and redid the patch with a piece of remnant. The seam was better. It was still visible and slightly elevated. The patch area was flush to the molding but the lines of the patch could be seen. I took photos and sent them to Mark. On Dec 18th Tim contacted me saying he wanted to replace the carpet and to come pick out samples. On Dec 27th I picked out a sample that I was told by the salesman will hide the seams nicely. I am waiting to hear back as to whether the sample's price is close enough to the price I paid for the original carpet, $4.99/ sq. ft. read more
